Chapter 34 - Rise of the Vulture
A thin mist shrouded the hills outside the city.
The morning air felt cold.
Birds began to chirp among the trees still wet with dew.
The place looked peaceful.
Too peaceful.
No one would have thought that behind the tranquility were hidden remnants of a past that should have been buried.
Sena stood in front of an old building that was almost collapsing.
The wall paint is peeling.
The window is broken.
Part of the roof has even collapsed.
But the building is not just an old building.
The place was once one of Vulture's secret bases.
A place that was once filled with the sound of footsteps.
Order.
Strategy.
And blood.
It hasn't been used for years.
But Sena still remembers every corner of it.
Every lane.
Every room.
Every memory.
Slowly he stepped inside.
Dust flew up as his shoes hit the floor.
His eyes swept the empty space in front of him.
And for a moment...
He felt as if time was moving backwards.
This place used to be lively.
This place used to have a purpose.
This place used to be filled with people who believed in something.
Not just an organization.
Not just a criminal group.
Vulture is a symbol.
At least that's what Sena believes.
The organization has power.
Have influence.
Having a fear that makes their enemies tremble.
And at the top of it all stood one man.
Cancer.
Sena stopped in the middle of the room.
The morning sunlight penetrated through the cracks in the damaged roof.
Creating streaks of light among the floating dust.
He closed his eyes.
Trying to imagine the past.
Imagine Raka's voice giving orders.
Imagine the members gathering.
Imagining a world that once existed.
Then slowly...
He opened his eyes again.
The room was empty.
Just emptiness.
And that's what made his jaw clench.
Because according to Sena...
This destruction should not have happened.
People always misunderstand Vulture.
They called the organization a monster.
They call it a disease.
They call it the source of all chaos.
But for Sena...
The real problem isn't Vulture.
The real problem is the world.
A corrupt world.
A world that allows the strong to oppress the weak.
The world that destroyed his family.
The world that made him live alone.
And for a moment...
Vulture was once the answer.
Raka was once the answer.
But everything collapsed.
And now...
The world is back to how it used to be.
Dirty.
Rotten.
Full of hypocrisy.
Sena walked towards a small room at the back of the building.
The door is still locked.
But he knew exactly how to open it.
Click.
The door is open.
The room was still intact.
Untouched by time.
Inside there is an old safe.
Sena smiled faintly.
It enters a combination of numbers.
A few seconds later the cupboard opened.
The contents are still there.
Document.
Photo.
List of names.
And the black vulture symbol that Vulture used to use.
His hand touched the symbol slowly.
As if touching something sacred.
Something that has been lost for a long time.
At another place.
Same morning.
Adrian is at the police station.
Evan spread out a large map on the table.
Rio stood beside him.
The atmosphere at the meeting was much more tense than usual.
Because the survivors started to give statements.
And for the first time...
They have a direction of investigation.
"What did he say?"
asked Adrian.
Evan opened the note.
"The perpetrator was wearing a mask."
"Not much to say."
"But there is one sentence that keeps repeating itself."
Samuel, who was in the room, also paid attention.
"What's the sentence?"
Evan read the notes.
Then slowly said,
"Monsters can't die."
The room immediately fell silent.
Adrian froze.
Just for a moment.
But it was enough to make Rio pay attention to him.
That sentence felt strange.
Too specific.
As if addressed to someone.
Not to the victim.
Except to other people.
Someone who wasn't even at the scene.
Far from there.
Sena was sitting in a crowded train station.
Thousands of people were passing by.
Some are in a hurry.
Some are busy with their cell phones.
No one paid attention to the man sitting quietly on the corner bench.
Even though his mind was planning something much bigger than murder.
Because actually...
The victims so far are just the beginning.
Just a tool.
Just a small spark.
The main goal never changes.
Cancer.
Always Raka.
Sena took an old notebook from her bag.
Inside there are dozens of pages full of handwriting.
Plan.
Number.
Location.
Years of notes.
A slowly growing obsession.
On one of the pages there was a large sentence written in red ink.
Return the Vulture.
Below it is an arrow pointing to another name.
Cancer.
Then the next arrow.
Pain.
Then another one.
Lost.
Sena stared at the writing for quite a long time.
Then smile.
Because according to him everything is very simple.
Humans don't just change.
Monsters don't just change.
What has changed is only the situation.
And Adrian is just a result of temporary circumstances.
Mask.
Illusion.
A phase.
Behind all that...
Raka is still there.
He was sure of that.
Very sure.
The car is coming.
The sound of braking echoed throughout the station.
But Sena didn't move.
He remained seated.
Keep thinking.
Keep planning the future in your head.
And the future he envisioned was very different from the current reality.
In his shadow...
Vulture rises again.
Not as a small organization.
Not as a remnant of the past.
But something much bigger.
Stronger.
More scary.
And this time...
It will not collapse.
Afternoon.
The sky began to fill with dark clouds.
The wind was blowing harder than usual.
In an empty warehouse on the outskirts of town, several people gathered.
They are not members of the Vulture.
Not yet.
They are just people who are disappointed in life.
People who are angry at the world.
People who are easily influenced.
Sena stood in front of them.
His face was calm.
His voice is steady.
"Do you know why the world is always the same?"
No one answered.
"Because powerful people make the rules."
He continued.
"And the weak just obey him."
Some people are starting to notice.
"You guys are angry."
"You guys are disappointed."
"You guys are missing something."
"You feel like you're never heard."
Their gaze slowly changed.
Because the words felt close.
Too close.
Sena smiled faintly.
He knows how humans work.
He knows which buttons to press.
Just like before.
Just like Vulture did.
Night had not yet fallen when the meeting ended.
But the seeds have been planted.
And Sena knows that.
He doesn't need a large army.
Not yet.
It just takes time.
Because the right idea is often more dangerous than a gun.
As he left the warehouse, his phone vibrated.
An incoming message from an anonymous number.
The message is short.
Police began to approach the old location.
Sena read the message.
Then delete it.
There is no panic.
No worries.
Quite the opposite.
He looked satisfied.
Because that means everything is moving according to plan.
The sun is starting to set.
The sky turned orange.
Sena stopped at a bridge overlooking the river.
The water flows quietly down there.
People walk home after work.
Life seems normal.
But behind all that...
A storm is slowly building.
Sena stared at her reflection on the surface of the water.
Long.
Very long.
Then said softly,
"You disappoint me, Raka."
The wind carried her voice away.
But he continued.
"You chose to be Adrian."
"You chose to be an ordinary human."
His face slowly hardened.
"But I will correct that mistake."
His eyes were now filled with a confidence that almost resembled madness.
Because for him...
Raka is not an ordinary human.
Raka is a symbol.
Raka is a leader.
Raka is the monster the world needs.
And the monster must return.
Whatever happens.
No matter how many lives must be sacrificed.
No matter how much chaos must be created.
In the distance, the sky was starting to darken.
Black clouds gathered over the city.
Faint lightning was visible over the horizon.
It's as if nature itself is giving a warning.
But no one heard it.
No Adrian.
No Evan.
No, Samuel.
No Rio.
They are still busy looking for a killer.
In fact, the real threat is much bigger than that.
Because Sena isn't trying to be the Vulture.
He doesn't want to replace Raka.
Don't want to be a new leader.
Don't want to be a legend.
What he wanted was far more dangerous.
He wants to revive the old legend.
Awakens monsters that have been buried for a long time.
And when that day comes...
When Raka returns to being a Vulture...
Then the world will witness the rebirth of an organization that should have died years ago.
A resurrection built on blood, loss, and madness.
And no one has realized that the wheel has already started turning.Download Novelah App
