Chapter 38 - Battle on the Edge of the Abyss

Lightning split the sky.
A flash of white light illuminated the abyss for a split second before darkness engulfed everything again.
It was raining heavily.
Water flows down the slippery slopes of the land.
Piles of old garbage that had been rotting around the ravine for years have now turned into muddy and dangerous terrain.
No one moved.
Nobody spoke.
All eyes were on the two people standing facing each other.
Cancer.
And Sena.
Valerie stood with her hands still tied.
His heart was beating so hard it hurt.
Samuel and Dion were a few meters behind Raka.
Meanwhile Evan and Rio were secretly trying to find a better position.
But no one dared to act rashly.
Because one small mistake could get Valerie killed.
Or someone falls into a ravine.
Sena stepped forward.
The rain wet his face.
But he didn't care.
His gaze was only fixed on one person.
Cancer.
"I am disappointed in you."
he said.
Raka did not answer.
"I admire you."
Sena continued talking.
"I trust you."
Lightning struck again.
A flash of light revealed a bitter smile on Sena's face.
"Then you chose to be Adrian."
Raka looked at him without emotion.
"I never asked you to admire me."
That sentence made Sena's jaw tighten.
"Still the same."
he muttered.
"The arrogance is still there."
"No."
Raka answered.
"I'm just stating the facts."
Sena laughed.
But the laughter sounded more painful than angry.
"Reality?"
He pointed to the gap behind them.
"Do you know how many people died because of us?"
"Do you know how much blood is flowing in this place?"
Raka fell silent.
Because he knows.
Very knowledgeable.
"I live with all of that."
Sena continued.
"Every day."
"Every night."
"I thought about it."
Her voice started to tremble.
"Even when sleeping."
"Even when awake."
"I can never forget."
Valerie who heard that began to realize something.
Sena wasn't just angry.
It's ruined.
Been a long time.
"But you?"
Sena looked at Raka with such hatred.
"You changed your name."
"You started a law firm."
"You live a normal life."
"You laughed."
"You're friends."
"You're in love."
The last sentence made Valerie freeze.
Sena looked directly at him.
"Look?"
he said.
"He got everything."
Raka clenched his fists.
"This."
"No!"
Sena shouted.
The sound echoed throughout the ravine.
"I don't want to hear your excuses anymore!"
In one swift movement...
Sena pulled a knife from under his jacket.
Samuel immediately moved forward.
But before she could get close, Sena pushed Valerie towards the edge of the cliff.
Valerie screamed.
His body almost lost its balance.
Small rocks tumbled down.
Samuel froze.
Dion too.
No one dared to move anymore.
"There he is."
said Sena.
His gaze returned to Raka.
"Finally."
Slowly he raised the knife.
"Show me."
"What?"
asked Raka.
Sena's smile turned cold.
"That monster."
The rain is getting heavier.
The wind was blowing hard.
Then without warning.
Sena attacks.
The knife shot straight towards Raka's face.
But Raka moved faster.
His body turned.
The knife only cuts through the air.
In the same second, Raka hit Sena's wrist.
LACK!
The knife almost missed.
But Sena quickly retreated.
His eyes were sparkling.
As if he had just gotten something he wanted.
"There he is."
he whispered.
"That's a move I know."
Sena attacks again.
This time it was more brutal.
Faster.
Wilder.
A knife shines in the rain.
Stabbing.
It's heartbreaking.
Aiming for vital parts.
There is no doubt.
There is no mercy.
Raka avoided it many times.
Mud splashed everywhere.
Their shoes sank into the wet ground.
Old trash was scattered as the two moved.
BUM!
Sena slammed his shoulder into Raka's chest.
Both of them fell down the slope of rubbish.
Piles of plastic, rusty metal, and decaying wood scattered in all directions.
Samuel tried to move forward.
Evan immediately held him back.
"Don't!"
he shouted.
"They're too close to the abyss!"
Under the increasingly frenzied rain, the fight turned even more brutal.
No longer a technical battle.
It's no longer a matter of strategy.
But it's about hatred.
Sena hit Raka's face.
BUK!
Blood immediately flowed from his lips.
But Raka retaliated with a hard elbow to Sena's jaw.
CRACK!
The two of them separated again.
Panting.
Full of mud.
Full of blood.
Valerie stared with bated breath.
He had never seen Raka like this.
Never.
The man who was known for his calmness now moved like a war machine.
Efficient.
Turn off.
Every movement is done without hesitation.
Without emotion.
And for the first time...
Valerie understands why people used to be afraid of the Vulture.
Sena laughed even though blood was flowing from the corner of his mouth.
"Finally!"
he shouted.
"You're finally back!"
Raka looked at him coldly.
"I'm not coming back."
"You are lying."
"I do not lie."
"You're fighting like you used to!"
Sena shouted.
Lightning struck.
The sky seemed to crack.
Sena charged again.
Both of them rolled on the ground.
Going through the old trash.
Passing rusty iron.
Getting closer to the edge of the abyss.
Rio cursed.
"They will fall!"
Sena managed to get her knife back.
In one quick movement he swung it towards Raka's chest.
But Raka caught her wrist.
Both of them held each other back.
Muscles tense.
Mud flowed down their faces.
The knife moves slowly.
Closer.
Closer.
"Okay."
Sena whispered.
"Kill me."
His gaze was almost insane.
"That's the real you."
Raka looked at him.
Then slowly said,
"No."
That sentence made Sena freeze.
Just for a moment.
But enough.
Raka hit his wrist.
The knife was thrown.
Spinning in the air.
Then fell far down the abyss.
Sena immediately attacked again.
But this time not with a knife.
But with all his anger.
BUK!
BUK!
BUK!
Blow after blow struck.
Both of them beat each other mercilessly.
Blood mixed with rainwater.
Mud covered their clothes.
Finally...
Raka managed to hit Sena right in the face.
Sena fell.
His body slid down the slippery slope.
Stop just a few centimeters from the edge of the abyss.
Everyone held their breath.
Sena was lying down.
Blood flowed from his temple.
Her chest rose and fell.
But he still laughed.
Plan.
Then it got louder.
Getting louder.
"Why...?"
he muttered.
His gaze was blank as he stared at the sky.
"Why don't you kill me?"
Raka stood a few steps away from him.
The rain wet his entire body.
"I've killed too much."
he answered.
Sena smiled bitterly.
For the first time since this all started...
His hatred seemed to waver.
"I spent my life..."
her voice trembled.
"...to awaken the monster."
He chuckled.
"But it turns out the monster was already dead."
Lightning struck again.
And for a moment...
Nobody spoke.
Only the sound of rain filled the gap.
But no one realized that the slope where Sena was lying was starting to slowly collapse.
The ground that had been drenched by rain for hours lost its strength.
Small cracks began to appear.
Right under Sena's body.
And a few seconds later...
A cracking sound was heard from underground.
CRACK...
Everyone immediately turned around.
Because of something far more dangerous.
