"Are you, auntie Mariella?"
"How did you know my name?"
"Miel is telling me stories about you. I'm sorry if I failed to protect, Miel. I didn't know that she has an allergy."
"No. It's okay. It's an accident. What important now is that she's okay."
I heard a conversation then someone caressed my hair.
"M-mom." I whispered then I opened my eyes slowly.
"Miel!" Mom called then she hugged me. "I'm glad you're awake." she said.
"Where am I, Mom? Am I at the hospital?" I asked since the room is pure white.
"Yes, baby." Mom answered then she went to the fruit basket in the table in the left corner of the room. Now I am looking at Janice. She gave me a "do you feel better now" look while raising her thumb.
"You intake a huge amount of seafood. I'm surprised, did you know that? How come that you didn't noticed that it has a seafood ingredient?" Mom suddenly said while preparing the fruit that made Janice eyes grew bigger then she laugh silently.
"She's so nervous because she's with her crush." Ahilya mouthed while looking at me with her eyes teasing me.
So I glared at her. Which made her laugh more.
"Eat this, darling." Mom said then she went towards me. "Janice, can you please have her sit properly?" Mom asked which Janice immediately followed. She help me get up and sit. Then mom went closer to feed me an apple.
"Take a rest. I think doctors will let you out tomorrow." Mom said while feeding me. "Get some fruits too in the basket, Janice and eat. I already ordered some foods for us. Let's wait for it." She added.
"Yes, auntie. Thank you." Said Janice then she took a some grapes in the basket then she ate it.
"By the way, Miel. Who are those three guys who was with you?" Mom asked that made me look at Janice with a little panic. "Janice said that they're your friends too. Unfortunately, they're already leaving when I got here. I haven't get the chance to know their names." She added.
"They are tranferees. We're not that hanging out that much. It's just so happen that we are eating together when I accidentally ate seafood so they probably helped me." I answered. I don't want her to know that I am too close to those boys. She will probably bring Theo up and will tease me again.
"Is the boy tranferee that you have dated before is one of them?" Mom asked that made Janice eyes wider. She even covered her mouth with her palms.
"Really, auntie?" Janice said in surprise.
"Yes. That man even get a stuffed toy for my daughter and my daughter seems to like it very much." Said mom, exposing me.
"Oh my God!" Said Janice.
"Mom! It's not a date! He just treated me in a restaurant because I helped him in our activity in school." Of course I won't say that I let him copy my answers in our quiz. She'll hit me if ever I told her that.
"Yes. It's a friendly date, isn't it?" Mom said, teasing me more.
"Mom!" I said with my crumbled face, frustrated with them. Then they both laugh.
Suddenly, a person knocked in the door.
"Oh. Maybe it's the food that I ordered. Wait here, ladies." Mom said then she went to the door to get our foods.
"I deserve a storytime, bestie." Janice whispered to me while smirking. She even tickle me in my waist.
"Janice!" I hissed that made her chuckle.
"You're really cute when irritated." She said then she pinched my cheeks.
"Aw! Stop it." I complained.
"Stop now, girls. The food is already here. Let's eat." Mom said while preparing the food.
"Can you stand up already?" Janice asked.
"Yeah, I think." I said then I tried to stand up. She immediately held my hand to support me till I can get up amd walk by myself.
"Thanks. Don't you have any classes?" I asked.
"It's already four in the afternoon now. You've been sleeping there for a day." She answered.
"What?!" I said im surprise.
"Yes. It's good anyway." She said then she helped me sit in the sofa infront of the coffee table here in my hospital room.
"You had enough sleep didn't you?" She asked then she say beside me.
"Yeah, I think." I answered.
"It's good to hear. Now, eat this." Mom said then she put some foods in my plate.
"Later, the doctor will check on you. Then they'll decide when you're going to be discharged." Mom explained then she sat in my right then we all ate.
We are busy eating when my phone suddenly rang continuously as if someone is messaging me nonstop.
Mom took it. She glared at me first before giving it to me.
"Don't forget that I am still a fan of DorIel no matter what." Mom said then she continue eating.
"Mom, it's not like I have a boyfriend." I defended.
"I'm not saying anything. Why so defensive?" She said, not looking at me. I did not mind her then I opened my phone. To see who messaged me in ChatsF.
It's Matthew. I opened it and saw that all the messages that I received was from him.
yesterday
"Miel, I already went home, Mom's looking for me in our house."
"I'm sorry that this happened to you. I didn't know that you have allergies."
"I'm sorry."
"By the way, I saw your mom a while ago. She's beautiful just like you."
Today
"Hi Miel, we have a training later because of the incoming division intramural."
"I'm sorry. I can't visit you there."
"Get well soon."
"So I can see you already. It's kinda boring and silent without you."
"Do I miss you? I don't know but maybe."
"I'll go now. The training will start soon."
"Goodbye."
I smiled after reading all those messages. I don't know but it makes me feel so happy that he is worrying about me.
"Bestie, stay calm. We're with your mother." Janice whispered that made my smile vanish. So I just replied....
"I'm awake. Thank you."
Then I put my phone in vibrate mode and was about to put it down in the table and eat when I received a message again.
I thought that it was Matthew but it's not.
It's Ahliya.
"Look. The ugly nerd has already a ChatsF account. I bet you'll use it in your plan of stealing someone from me."
"Or should I say that you're already using it?"
"Anyway you look like a human in your Profile picture."
"But still a trash."
"By the way. I'll be straightforward now. I messaged you because of this."
Then I saw a picture of me being carried by Matthew.
"I already warned you to know your place but you didn't listen. Now I'm going to slap that truth from you. I'll help you realize where should a girl like you should be placed. Be ready."
