I was sleeping in peace when my phone rang.
I reached for my phone in my bed side table and answered the call but I'm not opening my eyes yet.
"Hello." I said with my eyes closed but no one answered.
"Hello." I said again but still, no one answered so I opened my eyes only to be surprised of Matthew's face. It's not just a call. It's a video call.
"You look like an angel." She said while staring at me. Take note, he's smiling! Like he's too happy.
"Huh? Ah, why did call me?" I asked to change the topic.
"Didn't I told you that I'll call you?" He answered. " And besides, you're my girlfriend now, right?" He asked.
"Y-yes." I answered, stuttering. It's not that I don't like the fact that we're a couple now. It's just that it feels so good to be true that I can't believe that it's real.
"Right? So calling you isn't a big deal anymore." He said like it's so obvious and I shouldn't question it.
"Y-yeah. I'm sorry." I said then I looked down to avoid seeing his face.
"Hey. It's okay. Don't be sorry." He said but I didn't do anything. I'm still looking down in my hand which I'm using to hold my phone.
"Am I your first boyfriend?" He asked and I just answered him with a nod.
"Me too. You're my first girlfriend but it's not my first time to like someone." He said which made me remember Ahliya. She's mad at me because I'm too close with Matthew and now that we're already a couple, I am so sure that she will do worse than what she did to me a while ago.
God, Miel what are you thinking? Why did you answered yes that fast?
I said to my mind then I winced in disappointment.
"What's with that face?" Is something bothering you?" He asked.
"Nothing. I'm just tired." I answered. I don't want him to know, I don't want him to worry.
"Miel." He suddenly called.
"Hmm?" I asked then I raised my brows and I looked at him.
"If something happens like what happened awhile ago, please don't be hesitant to tell me. You can always call me." He said with his worried look.
"Don't worry. I'm okay now." I said then I smiled to make him calm.
"It's not okay. I'll be out of your sight for four more days. I'm afraid that Ahliya might do something wrong against you again especially that I'm not around you." He said.
"Okay. If ever something happens, you'll be the one I'll be calling. Stop worrying now." I said.
"Okay. That's enough for me." He said then he stared at me again that made me concious of what I look like.
I looked at myself in the screen and I saw that my hair's a bit messy so I fixed it by running my fingers through it as if I'm combing it.
"I want to taste that again." He suddenly said.
"Huh?" I asked innocently.
"Your lips." He straightforwardly said.
What? All this time? I thought he was staring at my face. But turns out that it's not. This man!
"It's so sweet and tasty that staring is not enough for me to stop from starving. Now I'm craving." He added that made my eyes get bigger out of surprise.
I was too stunned to speak so I just looked down.
"I can't help it." My mind said then I remembered my first kiss which is with Matthew.
I bit my lips out of shyness.
"Stop that." He suddenly said which made me confuse.
"Huh?----"Miel, dinner is ready" mom shouted that made me stopped from talking. Mom's voice was followed by the sound of the opening door.
"Oh my God!" I said in panic then I threw my phone in my bed beside me.
"Why?" She asked.
"Nothing, Mom. I'm just really excited for what you have cooked for our dinner." I said then I looked at the tray that she was holding. I hid my phone in my back and I reached for it's volume then I made it zero volume so Mom will not be able to hear Matthew on the other line.
"Really? I cooked your favorite food." she said that made my smile became more bigger.
"Thank you, Mom! But how can we eat here? I asked because the only table that I have here in my room is my study table. We can't eat there since the available space is not that ideal for the both of us since it's so small because of my papers and books that are organized properly in it.
"Don't worry about it." Mom said that made me confuse.
"Ma'am Mariella, here's the table that you're asking for." Nani Lena said when she got here in my room then she fixed the folding table that she brought here.
"it's pretty good. You got a Bright idea, Mom." I said, complementing my mother.
"I know. So yeah. let's eat now." she said then we both started to eat the foods in front of us.
"Hmmmmm." I said while eating since the taste is so satisfying. She never failed to make me so amazed by the foods that she's cooking.
"By the way, darling." Mom suddenly said. that made me look at her.
"What do you feel now? Does it still hurts?" Mom asked, pointing my right leg where my bruise can be seen.
"It's okay, Mom. Don't worry." I said then I ate a spoon of food in my plate.
"It's good that you feel better now." She said while eating too.
"Yup." I simply answered.
"However, We'll still go to the hospital or clinic to make sure that you did not get any huge problems, especially your bone." She explained.
"But, Mom. I told you that I'm already fine. You don't have to do that. " I said while looking at her with my cute eyes to stopped her but it did not worked.
"No more buts. I just want to know that you don't have any complication that you may get from the accident." Mom said in authority and I can't do anything about it anymore. "You'll skip class tomorrow. We're going to the hospital." She added.
She's so protective.
