"Hey. Wake up." I heard someone saying while shaking my body to wake me up.
"Mom! I don't have classes for today. It's Saturday." I murmured since I thought that it was mom.
"Ah! So you're not planning to get up huh?" I heard her say. But... Why does it sounds like a man's voice?
Oh God Miel! You're hallucinating you need more sleep.
"You'll get up because of what I'm going to do for sure." I heard Mom said again.
"Argh! Mom! Why do you sound manly? Can you stop that?" I complained but she did not answered.
So I continue on sleeping. I was about to dream when someone jump in my bed and hugged me.
"Mom--" I stopped when I realize that the smell of this person who is hugging belongs to a man. He wrapped his arms around my body then he placed his thigh in my leg. Now I can't move.
"Oh my God!" I screamed.
"Who are you?!" I asked.
"Guess." He said then he tightened his grip to my body.
Now I'm starting to panic. Who is this man? An outsider? Oh God I still want to live!
"Mom!" I shouted but this man just laughed at me.
"Mom! There's someone here! Mom!" I shouted.
"Stop shouting, Rein. Your breath doesn't smell nice." This man said that made my eyes blink thrice.
"Oh My God!" I shouted again. "Theo?" I asked.
"You didn't change." He said then he let go of me then he get up from my bed. There I saw his face and figure. He looks handsome, far from the Theo that I know.
"Ah! You're so gross." He complained. "Fix yourself now. Breakfast is ready." He said then he went out of my room leaving me speechless.
It took me a minute before I get back to my senses.
"Is he real? Am I still dreaming?" I said then I hit my face.
"Ouch! It's real. Ah! Maybe I'm just hallucinating." I said then I smelled my breath.
"Ah! It really smells awful." I commented then I went to my bathroom to fix myself.
"Miel!" I heard tita Thea called my name while I was walking downstairs. I was so surprised that I wasn't able to utter any word. She expanded her hands wide, ordering me to hug her.
"Tita! (Means auntie)" I shouted. I run towards her and hugged her tight. "When did you come back here in the Philippines?" I asked.
"Just yesterday." she answered with a smile.
"I missed you." I whispered then I let go from our hug.
"Awwww. I missed you too. You're a grown up woman now. You look more beautiful." She said softly.
"Really? Even with this thing?" I asked, pointing my eyeglasses since I remember someone telling me to took this off.
"Of course! You're beautiful in anyways." She said then she caressed my cheek.
"Her clothes didn't changed. She still look like an old lady. What's beautiful there?" I heard Theodore said. He just got out of the kitchen and was holding a glass of water. So he's really here? I am not dreaming a while ago!
"You haven't change. Well you just gained a little height." He added then he look at me with his famous smirk whenever he teases me.
"Hey! You're too mean!" I hissed then I pouted my lips.
He changed a lot it's too obvious. His physical Appearance changed. He doesn't have eyeglasses anymore like he used to when we were in high school. His skin tone became more fair, he gained weight just enough for his body to look masculine and.... his biceps grew bigger. They already have muscles!
"Kidding. Come here. I missed my ugly friend." He said then he came closer.
"Hey!" I complained but he just laughed then he hugged me.
"You're beautiful. Just the way you are." He said then he let go of me.
"Awww. You two really look good together." Said our mothers. They're holding their cheeks and was looking at us as if they just witnessed a lovely couple hugging each other.
"Mom!" Theo and I complained in chorus.
"Look! They have telepathy!" Mom shouted and both of them daydreamed.
"They will marry after they graduate in college then our companies will merge." Said tita Thea.
"Yes! And they will have kids which we're going to take care of!" Mom added.
"Ahhh!!!!! It really looks so nice!" They both shouted. They even had a high five.
They're always like that, shipping us. We don't like each other anyway so we're just letting them.
"Let's not mind them." theo said.
"Yup. What else can we do right? We can't stop them anyway." I answered.
"Let's just leave them here. Let's go to the dinning area to eat." He invited.
"Great idea. I'm thirsty too." I said then we walk towards the dinning area.
"It's been a while." He said then he pulled a chair for me.
"Yeah." I said then I sat on the chair that he pulled.
"How are you?" He asked. He went to the chair beside me then he sat there.
"I'm good. Nothing change. I'm till studying and maintaining my name on top." I answered.
"Really? Good for you." He said then he put some food in my plate. "Eat now." He said then he put some food in his plate too after securing that my plate has already foods that are enough to full me then he started to eat too.
"How about you?" I asked so he looked at me.
"I'm good. It's obvious isn't it?" He answered then he continue to eat.
"Yeah. You even..." I said that made him look at me again, waiting for what I'm going to say.
"You change a lot. You became charming." I said that made him stop from eating. He just stared at me.
"Really?" He asked then he smiled.
"C'mon! I'm not saying that you're handsome. You just became charming. You look like a heartthrob boy in school whom girls like." I explained while avoiding his gaze.
"I'm not saying anything. Why so defensive?" He said then he chuckle.
"I wonder if you already experienced liking someone." He said then he looked at me. So I avoided his gaze. He knows me too well. He might read my facial expressions. I don't want him to know about Matthew yet.
"Something's off." He said then he went closer to me. He held my chin then he made me face him. He look at my eyes as if reading my mind.
"What?" I asked then I looked away.
"Nothing." He answered then he let go of my chin.
I was so nervous that I didn't realize that I've been eating contiously even if there's still a food in my mouth.
"Eat slowly. No one's chasing you. You look like you're really guilty of liking someone." He said that made me choke.
I cough contiously while covering my mouth. I ran towards the kitchen then I spit out all the foods that I ate. After spitting it all out, I washed my mouth and I gargled some water.
"You're really gross." I heard Theo said in my back. His voice is not playful now. It became serious that made me stop from washing my mouth then silence ate the atmosphere between us.
"It's so hot here in the Philippines." He said to break the silence. "Let's swim." He said then he suddenly lift me up, carrying me like I'm a sack of rice.
"Hey! Theo! Put me down!" I shouted.
"Ha? What did you say? I can't hear you." He said, teasing me.
"Theodore!" I shouted while hitting his back but he just laughed.
He continue on walking till we reach the pool area.
"Theo, don't! I don't want to swim this early!" I complained but he didn't listen.
Gosh it's just nine o'clock in the morning.
"Ah ah ah! I can't hear anything." He said then he threw me on the pool.
"Mom!" I shouted, asking for help before I fell on the water.
Damn it! It's so cold. This man!
"How was it?" Theo asked when I finally stood up in the pool.
"What a bully." I said then I walk towards him.
He was smiling proudly so I tought of doing something to have a revenge.
"Aw!" I exclaimed when I reached the edge of the pool then I pretended that my right foot hurts.
"Hey.. what happened?" Theo asked then he immediately went to my direction.
"Cramps. Ouch!" I said then I held my right leg to make him believe me.
"Wait there." He said then he jumped in the pool.
" God!" I said, surprised that he jumped here in the pool.
He swum towards my direction then suddenly, I felt a hand holding my back then I felt my body floating. He's carrying me bridal style.
I was too stunned to speak so I just stared at him with my wide eyes.
He walk towards the stairs so we can leave the pool.
"Close this. You don't want to swallow a housefly, don't you?" He said then he closed my mouth by pushing my jaw upward so I looked away because of embarrassment.
He put me down in the chair near the pool then he looked for my right foot.
"Does it still hurt?" He asked then he continuously pinched my foot carefully. His veins in his arms were visible because of the force that he is exerting in his hand.
He really changed a lot.
"Miel!" He called.
"H-huh?" I said then I blinked my eyes twice.
"I asked you if it still hurt." he said..
"A-ah no. I'm okay now. Thank you." I said then I removed my foot from his hand.
"That fast?" He asked.
"Yeah. Uh I'm going to make some fruit shake. D-do you want some?" I asked to change the topic.
Gosh I thought he'll help me get up by offering his hand so I planned to pull his hand and drag him in the pool. But I didn't expect that he will do that.
"Of course. I'm now used to not so hot weather in States. I'm kinda uncomfortable now. It's too hot." He said.
"You'll be used to it too soon." I said then I called our maid to get us a towel.
"By the way, Aren't you studying in states too?" I asked.
"Yup. But I already finished my first semester. I'll continue my second semester here in the Philippines, in your school to be exact." He answered.
"H-ha?" I asked. Oh god. How can I tell him about Matthew? I'm sure he'll be mad because Matthew get me that fast.
Arghh!
"Why? You don't want it?" He asked but I didn't answer.
"Why do I feel like there's really something wrong? Are you hiding something from me?" He asked that made me nervous.
He stared at me waiting for my answer. I was about to say something when the maid came and gave us our towel.
"Here's your towels, ma'am/sir." She said.
"Thank you." I told her then I looked at Theo. "Let's go." I said so he won't ask me again.
It would be a mess for sure if he learned that I already have a boyfriend.
