I put down the window and sneaked my head out while looking at him. "I'm done. Can you drive me home now? Or if you have something to—"
"No, I don't have any errands to attend. About earlier, they already made sure that everything was okay so technically, they don't need my help anymore. So, let's go," he explained long enough before going inside and maneuvered the car into my place.
And as he drive, I felt and saw his eyes on me on my peripheral vision every five minutes while I was just staring blankly at the buildings we are passing by.
"Thank you for the ride," I said and just gave him a single glance before going straight inside of my house.
I leaned my back on the door and held my heated face and I could even hear my loud heartbeat. This is too much! This is fucking too much! I bit my lip and walked back and forth. After the series of unexplainable and embarrassing events that happened, what now? Back to that complicated situation again?!
But didn't they have a mission to do? Yeah, and I should go. I need to see it for myself. I need to see how they play and work. Maybe I could use it against them. Right, I really should—
A knock from my door suddenly snapped me back to reality and its lightness caught my attention. It was as if hesitant yet eager to do so.
Did Briks come back or hasn't he going home yet? Or was it... Was it someone else?
I started panicking and I could hear voices playing in my head, telling me not to open the door. But my curiosity was stronger and won over them.
I slowly walked and when I held the doorknob, my heart pounded so loudly again. I breathe in and out before forcingly opening the door.
My eyes widened and my grip on the doorknob tightened when I saw Henry in front of the door. "H-Henry... W-Why... Why are you h-here?" I stepped back when he walked closer to me. His face was dead serious and it even doubled my nervousness. But he didn't say anything and stepped closer to me again so my feet automatically stepped back in fear. "H-Hey..." I clenched my fists, ready to defend myself in case he attacks me.
And he did.
He was about to attack me on my feet but my body automatically dodged. I tried to punch him on his stomach but he quickly picked it up and tried to twist but I immediately turned around and took my hand forcibly from him.
We were glaring at each other as we are predicting each other's moves. When he tried to attack me again on my right side, I avoided it quickly. But I didn't see his other hand attack me on the left side. Because of the strong impact, I flew to the ground, and thankfully, nothing got broken. But for fuck's sake, that hurts!
I was silently groaning in pain when he walked closer to me and offered a hand. I didn't take it and got up myself. After attacking me like that, he still has the guts to help me get up? The fucking audacity!
He then chuckled and took a chair and sat on it like a normal visitor! Did he just chuckle at me?! Did he?! But then he turned serious as to how serious he was earlier. I swallowed hard and caressed my arms which were continuously aching. "Don't act like I was the one who did you wrong. Don't you remember that you were the first who disobey our boss? You ran away from the hospital when you're still not okay. And that's disobedience! That's out of the rules!"
I gulped when I saw how he turned into a beast from a looking so innocent and naive frog. My nails were tugged on my skin and I almost scratch it as my grip gets tight. I glared at him to equal the intensity of his eyes. "So what are you going to do now? Kill me?" Tears immediately poured into my cheeks and my body suddenly felt weak. My knees fell to the ground as I cry hysterically. "I don't wanna die yet... I still have—I still need to say goodbye to my parents... I still have to..." I covered my face and continued crying like a child.
"But if you really want me to... Then I'd rather die in my own hands than your dirty hands!" I quickly took the injection, with a poisonous liquid in it, out of my pocket behind my jeans that I took from the hospital earlier while I was running away. I kinda know things about poisons because it was usually played in the theatre before. I actually planned to inject him with this but I guess, my plan has changed.
I was about to inject myself on the neck when he shouted. "No, I'm not! I'm not going to kill you. I'm just here to check on you and take you on our route. I'm sorry if I hurt you. I'm sorry if I confused you. I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry. And I... I mean it." He swallowed hard as he look at me with panic and fear all over his face.
"O-Okay..." I tried to get up but my feet were as soft as jellies so he scooped me with his muscular arms and carried me like a bride and put me in the chair he was sitting at earlier.
"Where's your first aid kit?"
"Upstairs behind the painting beside my room," I whispered, looking down.
I always keep my secrets in my hiding place so there's nothing to worry about him searching my whole room.
When he finally walked upstairs, a smirk escaped from my lips. I thought getting to know them better would give me the advantage to attack against them but threatening to kill myself was actually enough? They really need me, huh. And I just need to act like a damsel-in-distress? Wow, it's getting easier now, huh.
I immediately pursed my lips and went back to my normal reaction when I heard his footsteps coming near me.
"Let me see your arms," he silently said and when I lifted my eyes, I saw his soft eyes on me. I then put my arms on my lap and looked away. "You're really stubborn, huh? You knew you'll get hurt but you still did run away."
I don't know why but it meant other things to me as if it has a hidden message behind those words.
He carefully treated small wounds and bruises on my arms. After he finished, he stared at me before he opened his mouth to say something. "Let's go. I need to take you on our route now. We might be late."
"Late?" My eyebrows frowned. "For what?"
When he stood up and turned around, I saw a set of guns in his pocket and I immediately understood it. We're going on a mission...
