Mira woke up later on, she stared at the still sleeping Joseph as the memories of what happened earlier rushed through her... She couldn't help smiling when she recalled how patient and understanding Joseph was.
Indeed, he was one in a million.
Then, she noticed that her hair was tied up in a bun and her eyes felt less puffy... She sighed... Joseph will never change she thought.
Slowly, she detached herself from Joseph's embrace.
She was about to stand up when Joseph who woke up held her. " Where are you going? " His voice was kind of hoarse since he had just woken up.
" I am going... "
" Geez! Does she have to get your permission to visit the bathroom now, Joseph? " Evie who had just woken up said interrupting, Mira.
" I... " Joseph stared at Mira with an embarrassing smile.

" Good morning, Evie! "
" Good morning, Mira... " Evie rose up from the couch she had slept on as she walked towards Mira and embraced her. " Hoping you had a good night rest? "
" I did... What about you? " Mira said straightening up Evie's scattered hair.
" It was fine. "
" Really? " Mira obviously didn't believe her since she knew how obsessed the latter was with sleeping on a soft mattress.
" Yeah... You don't have to worry. " Evie assured her with a smile.
" I am glad then. "
" Hm... What about you, Joseph? How was your night? "
" It was okay... Just that a certain somebody who clinged unto me like a koala as she moved around made me unable to stretch my limbs. " He said.
" Oh... Though you don't look like you've got a problem with that. " Evie pointed out.
" I guess... " He replied.
There was a knock at the door all of a sudden interrupting the trio.
" Come in. "
The door opened to reveal nanny in a light dress holding a bag of necessities for the trio.
" Good morning, triplets! " She waved at them.
" Good morning, nanny! " They greeted her as they walked over to collect the items from her.
" Hm...so how was your night? "
" It was fine. Yours, Nanny? "
" It was perfect! "
" That's good. "
" So darling, how are you feeling now? " She said to Mira as she felt the latter's temperature.
" I am fine, nanny.. "
" Am glad. "
" So I'll leave you guys to freshen up. " She said.
" Okay, nanny.. "
" Hm... I'll go see the doctor. " She told them as she existed the room..
" Time to freshen up! " Evie said aloud and they all nodded..

Joseph had just re-entered the private hospital room only to sense something unusual.
The he soon realized what was wrong.
He walked into the room and immediately walked straight to the switch to turn off the air conditioner in the room.
Then, he walked towards Mira who was already shivering unconsciously and made her wear the big hoodie he had with him, he then proceeded to help her wear a long cotton socks and gloves.
Only when she was fully covered did he finally relax.
" You act like Mira's father too many times! "Evie who had witnessed the whole entire scene said.
" And you act more like a stranger than her friend! " He shot back sharply.
" What did I do? "
" Did you realize that Mira could have freezed to death with the air conditioner on? "
" She isn't that fragile alright? "
" You are impossible! " Joseph said trying to calm himself down.
" And you are too overprotective! "
" Of course I have to be! Mira is my responsibility! "
" She's my responsibility too; she's my best friend for Christ's sake! "
" Really? But you don't behave as if she is sometimes! "
" If that's not true then I wouldn't have squeezed myself on this couch all night and would have gone straight home instead! "
" You chose to stay so you have no one to blame for your discomfort! "
" Please don't argue because of me, guys... The air conditioner was turned on by the cleaner who came over to clean the room earlier. It's not Evie's fault as we both were engrossed in our conversation that we didn't realize the apparent drop in temperature. " Mira Interrupted.
" Still! She could have been observant enough to notice that you were shivering! And you too, you are too careless! Mira, you have to know that you've got only one life to live! It's only one and can't be bought back once lost! You need to take care of yourself more than you are doing right now! " He lectured.
" Am sorry, Joseph... You are right, I was careless... I should have been more observant. " Evie became sober.
" It's okay... I am sorry for raising my voice at you... I apologise if I might have hurt your feelings unknowingly. " He said apologetically.
" You don't have to... Your reasons are justified. "
" Still, I shouldn't have lost my temper like that. "
" Hm... "
Mira pulled Joseph down to sit on the bed beside her, " Hey, I am really sorry. I should have been more observant and careful... I promise to be more careful from now on... So forgive me, Kay? " She said cutely.
" Promise? " Joseph's voice soften by a hundred degrees as he spoke.
" Promise! " Mira said Hugging him and pecking his cheeks enthusiastically..
" Good girl. " Joseph said Patting her hair dotingly.
Evie couldn't help but smile watching the scene in front of her..
It still amazes her how easy it is for Joseph to switch roles without any ado.
It was just too remarkable!
She felt happy for Mira who had someone who was willing to do just anything to see her smile..
So who says she's a miserable orphan?
That fellow must be handicapped!
