Mr Bully

“ Love, a journey that spans a thousand lifetimes. ”
***
‘ Life —
Days turn to weeks,
Weeks into months,
Months into years,
Unfolding like a tapestry
before us.
The journey of a lifetime
Begins with a single step,
A brushstroke on a blank
canvas,
A word that grows into a
sentence.
The starting line gleams,
Smooth, polished,
Promising perfection—
Like a pineapple,
Its beauty masks the
mystery within.
This journey stretches
Toward an unknown destination.
We cannot measure its length
Or foresee the challenges ahead.
But one thing is certain:
We will stand together.
We will move forward,
Hand in hand through
life’s storms.
And when we reach a
crossroads—
When one of us feels the
weight of weariness—
We will pause,
Take a breath,
And rest.
So one can recover,
And the other remains
strong.
Love will be our guide,
Our compass,
Leading us home.
Home is not bound by walls
or a roof—
It is found in the warmth
of love,
In the comfort of an embrace,
In the places where hearts
feel free
And emotions flow without
restraint,
Accepted in their raw,
honest form.
Perhaps that’s why they say,
“Home is where the heart is.”
Because it’s true.
Wherever love resides,
That’s where we’ll find our way.
That’s where life begins. ’
“Wow… It’s a masterpiece,” Cecile clapped in delight as she read the poem, both of them having crafted it together.
“As it should be, seeing as it was written by two grand poets,” Joel winked at her, holding a glass of warm milk as he walked toward her.
It was their fifth day as a married couple, and Joel still hadn’t grown tired of caring for her. She felt incredibly lucky and grateful for him. “The bleeding stopped?”
“Yeah...” Cecile’s face flushed as the underlying meaning of his words registered.
“Good,” Joel sat beside her, gently pulling her into his embrace.
She drank her milk in silence, content to stay nestled in his arms.
“When’s your next lecture?” His question felt like a timely reminder—though she was now married, she was still a student, still chasing her degree.
“Next Tuesday. I’ve got a creative writing class.”
“Oh... so you still dream of becoming a bestselling writer and poet?” he asked, his voice warm.
“Yep,” she nodded. “Although lately, I feel like I’ve been leaning more into my poetic side.”
“That’s not a bad thing. Kristin Hannah mixes fiction, nonfiction, and poetry in her books, and there are other renowned authors who write primarily in verse.”
“That’s true,” she smiled, finishing the last sip of milk before setting the empty glass on the vanity. “Done.”
“Good girl,” he ruffled her hair affectionately, like she was a child.
“What about you, Joel? What’s your dream?”
“A renowned painter and poet,” he smiled at her.
“What about music? Aren’t you still thinking about pursuing that?” Cecile asked, curiosity gleaming in her eyes.
“Music...” His voice softened, carrying a trace of hesitation and sorrow. “It reminds me so much of her.”
“I know,” Cecile whispered, reaching up to caress his cheek, “but that doesn’t mean you can’t keep pursuing it. You can create new memories with it, you know?”
“Yeah...” Joel nodded, his expression shifting to one of playful mischief. “But first, let’s start by making a baby.”
Her heart skipped a beat, and his words echoed in her mind, lingering like the sound of a distant bell.
But before she could protest, he sealed his lips to hers and lifted her from the couch. Cecile surrendered to the kiss, her thoughts swirling as they deepened, moving seamlessly toward the bedroom.
Within moments, their clothes fell away, and though Cecile had once dreaded this moment, she now felt no pain, only pleasure. Lost in the rhythm of their connection, she forgot time entirely as hours seemed to pass as they entwined, consumed by each other.
“ That was... amazing, ” Joel whispered, holding her close. Cecile, flushed and breathless, caught his gaze. He couldn’t help but notice the marks on her body, his heart twinging with guilt. He had lost control, again.
“ It’s alright, ” she reassured him, placing her hand over his. Her smile was soft, her warmth calming him. “ I’m fine. ”
“ Do you feel sore? ” His voice was gentle, almost a whisper.
“ A bit... but I’m okay. ” She smiled, pressing a tender kiss to his lips.
“ You’re hungry, aren’t you? ” He teased, kissing her again.
“ Oh, no, ” she laughed, trying to pull away, but he had already pulled her closer once more.
---
Much later, Cecile rested in Joel’s arms, the warmth of the duvet enveloping them both. The silence between them was a quiet comfort, a stark contrast to the chaos of the outside world.
“ Do you think I should publish the poem we wrote on my website? ” she asked, breaking the quiet.
“ Well, what’s mine is yours, so technically, it’s yours too, ” Joel responded with a grin. “ You’re free to do whatever you want with it. ”
“ Great, ” She smiled mischievously. “ Does that include your paintings as well? ” Her playful challenge was unmistakable.
“ You wouldn’t dare, ” He chuckled, his voice low.
“ And why wouldn’t I, Mr. Husband? What’s yours is mine, right? ” She ran her fingers seductively along his chest.
“ And why does playing with fire seem so appealing to you, Mrs. Wife? ”
“ Am I? ” She raised her legs and intentionally teased him, knowing exactly where to touch.
His eyes darkened with desire, and before she could speak, he shifted their positions, and he was now hovering above her.
“ Joel, you… ” She couldn’t finish the sentence as she felt him slide inside her.
He silenced her with a passionate kiss, and for the next few minutes, her moans filled the room.
---
Minutes later, exhausted and spent, Cecile lay beneath the duvet, her body still tingling. She weakly hit Joel on the shoulder. “ Gosh... I feel so sore, you bully. ”
“ I do too, and you’re the reason for it, ” He replied, unbothered by her playful attack.
“ You’re not allowed to touch me again, bully, ” She muttered, though the smile on her lips betrayed her.
“ You’re not allowed to wear my shirts again, Mrs. Wife, ” He shot back.
“ What will I wear then? ” Her words were both amusing and endearing, making him nearly laugh out loud. Though she had her own clothes, she had become obsessed with wearing his. He already found himself mentally planning to buy more of his clothes— for both of them.
“ Well, you can walk around without clothes, that’s always an option. We’ll be more intimate that way. ”
“ Don’t. ” She yelped as he playfully poked her, and despite her protest, the tension between them flared again.
By the time he stopped, her skin was flushed, her body responding to him in ways that left her breathless.
“ You bully, ” She murmured, her voice hoarse.
“ You did great, Mrs. Wife, ” He grinned, lifting her into his arms and heading for the bathroom to clean them both up.
“ I love you, Joli… ” She whispered, her eyes fluttering closed with exhaustion.
“ Same here, bully, ” He chuckled, marvelling at the playfulness in her voice.
As he held her close, he marveled at how light and beautiful she felt in his arms. He had never been more protective, more obsessed with keeping her safe, with ensuring she never felt the weight of the world.
For a moment, everything seemed perfect, simple and beautiful. He wished their life could stay this way, untouched by the complications of the world.
But he knew better. Life wasn’t meant to be easy, and obstacles would come, but they were what made the journey worthwhile.
And he believed, wholeheartedly, that it would be worth it.
