Bonus Chapter

“Is she pregnant?”
Both of them got the weirded look from Ray that he gave to Fari when he saw her eat the thing.
“Silly. It was me that is pregnant with our baby.” Carys admitted that she's pregnant without thinking twice. She said it without holding herself back and seemed to forget about the words she said to Fari on how she wanted to plan a surprise for Ray about her pregnancy.
Wyn and Fari exchanging glances waiting for Carys to realize what she just said. They didn't say anything.
Her eyes went big. In just a second Carys happy face turned sad and she started to cry. She began mumbling something.Eating own her words. Which couldn't be comprehended because she sounded muffled. It's because of her sobs that's why her words aren't clear. There's a sentence. She paused from it. Then come her tears. She began sobbing. Followed by the wiping of tears that came from Carys.
Ray went to his wife's side to console her. Tugging her body to his side and gently wrapped his arms around her but the sobs she has turned into a wail. And just like that the situation got even worse.
The two exchanged numbers of gazes and stood there unable to say anything to their friends. For Fari, Carys' action looked wacky and Ray was acting like a sensible husband to his wife's illogical outbursts.
She cannot have that better understanding of the situation because even for her the situation excalated quickly and there's the turning of events that made her head ache.
It's her first time seeing a pregnant woman act out of character. Too much circulation of emotional spiral. She gave out an exhale and Wyn gave her a few pats in the back. Rubbing his fingers on her spine before placing his hands around her waist to see what's next in the happening that is in front of them.
Ray looked dreadful. He looked even more tense when Carys pushed his body away from her. She wiped her tears.
A feeling of relief came to all three of them because she can finally recollect the stable expression she was displaying a while ago. But their assumption came out to be wrong. Ray began panicking again when he saw her wife's tears trickling down her face as she cries.
Fari is now willing to take out the word she said in her head. Carys' breakdown is not something that is a sight that can be laughable anymore. Because right now. All she can say is that her friend looked pitiful as she kept on crying. Telling Ray that this is not the way she wanted him to know that she is pregnant with her child. She kept shaking her head and Ray kept wiping her tears away then hold her close.
She then stopped crying.
They waited for her change of expression. It was fast for Carys to not get to caught up to her cries. She's now happily making giggles.
“I'm hungry. I want to have scrambled eggs.”
"I'll cook for you.” Fari offered while gently shoving Wyn away from her. Wyn sounded an unworded protest before fully pulling himself away from her.
“No?” Fari asked when she saw Carys shaking her head.
“I want to cook. I'll save some for you too.”
Fari can only smile to Carys right after she said that. Well—one definitely needs to excuse more patience when you have a friend that is pregnant.
"Sure you can. I'll heat the stove for you.” She answered.
Carys started making commments on the scramble eggs fault for not being scrambled enough. It's texture was the problem for her. She complained about why it didn't turn the way she wanted. Then she started to speak out an answer, talking about how it is fine because life doesn't even happen the way it was supposed to be. Ray only hugged his wife in the back in return.
Wyn and Fari left the two of them to have their privacy.
They walk together outside till they reach the garden. Went to the swing. Fari heaved a sigh again. Wyn's mouth moved and then a smile came out of his lip.
"That was exhausting.”
“It is.” Fari responded. Her eyes suddenly went bright and she's fast to turn her head at him. “But I got a quick question for you. To you know, sort something out.”
"Sure. Just ask away. Ask me anything. And I swear that you will only hear honest answers from me.” Wyn said it teasingly that made her smile.
“If that happens someday? You think you can handle it?”
Wyn lowered his head before flashing a smirk. He got it. Fari smiled after seeing his reaction. They both get what she wanted to express to him.
“I'm in fact thrilled to see you have a change of behavior just like what Carys have right now.” Wyn answered as he delightfully stared at her while saying it.
The swing swayed, and the rustles of the iron bars are audibly heard. They stayed their for a few minutes before fixing themselves to enter the house once again.
After the couple left they've started to do some cleaning.
"I'm kinda hungry.” Fari said before timidly putting the sponge back on its container. Wiping the remaining soap suds left on her hands with a towel.
“Me too.”
“How about let's drink some beer. We need to take a good break for a bit.”
She saw how Wyn's eyes lit up. A laugh came from him.
“Did I saw something funny?” She was confused for a second. The only response she received was the shaking of his head while he was murmuring something she cannot hear.
“Alright. If that's what my baby wants. But first we have to clean the house. Especially our living room, Fari.” Wyn answered.
Fari's forehead knotted. Her mouth formed a frown. Dissatisfied about what she heard. They still can't immediately rest after the day of exhaustion. Wyn pulled her into his arms and wrapped him in a tight hug that spread warmth all over her.
“This is like an energy charge.” Wyn still secluding his arms on her mumbled an answer of approval.
After a long tiring day of listening to Carys' plaints about a lot of issues, her cries and her groans of supplication makes it even hard for Fari to calm her senses after seeing the overall distress on not only Carys' face but also the expression of being stressed out was evidently apparent on her other friend's face as well. She's kind of happy to see Wyn trying to master his cool of not being able to feel the projections of emotional crisis they have been showing.
“Can we head for bed and have a movie night after this clean up session?” She opened up another suggestion that she thought would fulfill their need of having enough relaxation.
“We can, love. We need to do the cleaning first.” Wyn removed his arms, held her shoulders and stared at her. “After that. We are free to do whatever we want to do for the rest of the night.” They both smiled upon having a Mutual agreement with what they're thinking about.
Fari nodded her head as her way of letting Wyn know that she fully understood what he meant and that she definitely likes his words. She took a step forward and gave him a peck. Wyn smiled down at her. Pulled her hands to intertwined it with his own before he started to pull her towards the living room to start the process of cleaning up the mess that is still left.
(Adaline's POV)
Life sometimes offer unexpected surprises and individuals to come into one's world. By such circumstances resulted in aftermaths of prickled heartaches and some amazing experiences by which became the stepping stone for someone to courageously take a step forward with the feeling of not having to look back and act all sappy about it. And that someone. That someone who learned the lesson from what happened and managed to walk away and now is feeling grateful for the reality I can savor in this moment, it was me.
The never ending cycles I got to find myself to get sucked into. It was never good. I'd like to deminish them out of my head if I wanted to. Sometimes when I look back from every unwanted memory that comes up, I cringe. It was something that brings a sense of disgust to me. Like I ask myself, “Did I ever do that?” I acknowledging those things, was never easy for me either. It's hard. It is something that doesn't come easy, acceptance never truly comes that easy.
Letting go is hard. It is not always easy to let go. But if it's the only thing that is left for someone to finally get that liberating feeling of being free from all those severed ties that kept haunting the waking life of a person. Then, it is best to embrace the truth that sometimes in life letting go can be the best way for someone to be free from the painful constraints that are suffocating.
Sometimes it's better to leave things for where they are at. To make peace with the past, to appreciate the present, and to look forward to the future. These is something that I have been training my mind into, to remember these things. Because having to implement these in my life, it will never be my burdens to carry. In fact, it will do a lot of its work towards having a free flowing lifestyle.
I stared at my friends. Who would've thought that this day will finally come, where we can finally share laughters and to find enjoyment in each other's company.
I'm happy for them.
I'm happy for Mike, he finally had that priority to be fully responsible for the situation he got himself into. He wasn't the committing type, back when we were younger. That's the reason why I got afraid. And hid my feelings for him for a very long time. I've seen him jumping from one relationship to another, without gaining anything good to attain. Seeing like myself in that kind of situation where Mike will throw me away like I am nothing but a passerby that he once cherished, I stopped myself from totally falling off the cliff heading towards a landing where I can love him freely. Bygones are now bygones. Because when I looked at his face, the only thing I could now see is my friend Mike. The first friend I made when I entered high school.
Our eyes met. This time around, nothing negative can be seen through his eyes. No regrets, no hint of lies, no pain. I smiled at him, which he immediately reciprocated too. My eyes went towards Sasha, whose dipping the lettuces on her plate filled with curry. Seeing her do that, made me chuckle. It's just one of those pregnancy shenanigans.
Warren, he's carefully assisting his child to eat the food on his plate in a clean manner. He was my friend who never really wanted to have a child. But look at him right now. He's doing his father duties in the best Warren way he could ever fulfill. He lifted the spoon, spun it around before leading his the thing towards his child's mouth. It was a sight to see. A heartwarming one.
Carys and Ray. Bickering about the barbecues they're setting up on the grill. Once vowed they would forever stay as friends. And here they are, wedded to each other. They are each other's forever, but not in the friendship type of way. It turned out to be something better. They turned out to be each other's soulmates.
A hand wrapped around my waist. My smile widens, I leaned my head towards the direction of his shoulder blade. But I managed to move to lift my head, to stare at the person whom I am going to spend the rest of my life with. With Wenceslas. No words were exchange. It is just us looking at each other's eyes, before Wyn opened his mouth to speak.
“You owe me something.”
“What is it?”
“Alone time. With me. Even just for a while.”
I welcomed the incoming swirls of fluttering feelings inside my stomach. Everytime Wyn looks at me, an oncoming heart summersault is always present. He held my hand before discreetly pulling me away from our friends. I let him take the lead without any single thought in mind. Just the warmth that seeps through his fingers.
We reach the side of the shore. Right on the same spot where we first met each other. For me I think this is a great time for Reminiscing the times of how far we've come. But my eyes went to enjoy the desirable look of the moon and the light that it's shedding.
“It's full moon.” I said almost in an inaudible voice.
“Why don't we make a promise, and let be the moon be our witness?” Wyn was serious when he spoke.
It almost made Fari laugh, but she took her time to appreciate the words she heard from him. “To be the witness of the underlying love we have for each other? Is that what you mean?” Fari joked.
“We should always kiss during full moon.” Wyn said, eyes still staring at Fari's face intently.
“Is that a promise? You know that sometimes a promise isn't always fulfilled right?” Fari asked in a low soft voice.
Wyn shook his head for a while before holding both of Fari's hand. “No, it's an assurance. An assurance that I can always fulfill the plans I intended to do with you.”
His fingers brushed through hers. “May I?” He ask her the question gently.
“You may.” Fari answered earnestly.
Wyn smiled before lowering his head to reach for Fari's lips. She placed her arms around her, pulling him close. A beautiful kiss under the light of the moon was shared between them. A shared kiss today, and more future kisses for them to savor in the upcoming days, weeks, months, years. Kisses that they will happily share as long as they live.
