As she's recalling all the scenarios that happened the whole day, about the case, she fell into a deep thought.
'What's behind this case? Is the killer a psycho?' She questioned on her mind.
Aside from the statements of the partners of the victims, she still has no other solid evidence.
"I'll just go to the bathroom. I emptied my drinks because of the revelation earlier." Althea jokingly said as she slowly stands up, referring to the person she talked with earlier.
"Sure. Take your time." Rue chuckled to her, and just land her back on her chair. They both chuckles.
She watched her friend walks towards the restroom, while her friend is on the way, she accidentally bumped into someone.
"Sorry, I didn't mean toㅡ" her friend didn't finish her words when the stranger just passed her, the words is clear to her ears, she can even read her mind being embarrassed and she go directly to the restroom.
She just chuckles on what she witnessed. But the feeling she felt earlier went strong, and the stranger is walking along way on her table.
The stranger sits in front of her table. It's wearing a maroon hoodie with sunglasses and black skinny jeans.
"You know you can't stay here as long as you want." the stranger speaks with a low and calm tone.
"Danna, what are you doing here?" Rue asked with a surprise, she didn't expect her to be here.
She's her friend, a vampire friend. They're friends ever since from a childhood, they both have the same age, 120 years old.
Danna grabs the juice on her table and drinks it. She seems very thirsty, thirsty for blood.
She gets her black stainless bottle that's filled with rouge, a substitute for a blood in case of emergency like this. She handed it to her friend and she immediately drinks it.
"You should go back and tell dad that I'm not coming back, not now." She remarks, and crossed her arms to her chest.
She sounded rude but she doesn't care, Danna is used to it already. Their personality is somehow similar, but Danna has more patience.
"You can't have a normal life with mortal, Ella. Mortals are for mortals only, vice versa with our kind." Danna lectures to her, she's trying her best to convince her friend.
"I don't want to hear that name here. Just go, please." She said as she looks directly to her friend, and she noticed Althea walking out the restroom.
"You can't change your fate wherever you go, you might just loss the people you loved around you if you insist what you want." Her friend said as she stands up on her sit.
"And I didn't come here because of uncle, I'm here as your friend, Ella. I don't want you to acquire the same fate as my sister did." She added as she walks away and disappeared in the crowd.
After what happened, she just ignored she said. The day after, she received a new case.
It's hot in the afternoon, she's scanning files on her folder that she's holding, wearing a suit that's all black.
Reading the new case she received, it's about an animal attack, there are dead people due to blood loss in a small town named Lakewood. But she knows it's not just all about an animal attack.
"Sorry for calling you here urgently, things here are just getting out of hand. And thank you for coming." A mid 30s woman speaks worriedly, she's a head chief of the Lakewood.
They are sitting in the table inside the house of the chief.
"No problem Mrs. Bailey, it's my duty." Rue response to the woman, they've met before from a charity event.
"I don't really believe in supernatural or what, but I'm worried about the people here in Lakewood." The woman starts with her hands on the tap of the table.
Rue just nodded.
"We are not sure of its identity aside from the fact that it eats flesh and blood." She added, it didn't make Rue surprise,
The just thought that it's not new to her because of her work.
"Where's the body of the corpse?" Rue asked while looking at the pictures, it really looks like an animal bite because it's ripped.
"We already burned it, I don't want to make my people scared over their own hometown." The woman replies, that makes Rue cuss to her mind.
It's one of the most important in the case, she would've known how it was killed.
"How about witnesses?" Rue asks again, while looking directly at her eyes.
"In the current attack, there's a survivor and she said they were just having fun with her friends and suddenly an animal attacked them, luckily she survived that night." The woman explains, and Rue can't read from her head for any lies with her statement.
"Tell me where can I find her." Rue said as she grabs her bag and stands up to leave, she shouldn't waste time.
She has to confirm her hunch.
"She's still at the infirmary, I'll drive you there." The woman is suggested, Rue just nodded to her since she doesn't know this place yet.
When they arrived at the entrance of infirmary, the woman is about to go with her when Rue stopped her.
"It's okay Mrs. Bailey, I can manage. I'll just do it on my own way." Rue assured the woman with a smile. Besides she knows it will be not just an ordinary interview.
The woman just nodded, this woman is really dedicated to her work and don't even need a help, she just thought.
Rue arrived at the room of the witness and it's slightly open, she saw a girl wearing a hospital gown laying on the bed and staring into an air, she knocked on the door.
The girl's gaze turns to her, her eyes seems like she's not from an accident, like nothing bad happens to her.
"Come in." A teenage girl said as she smiles at her and sit up in the bed.
She didn't waste a tke and immediately entered the room then closed the door.
