I smiled, seeing that no one was in the stream. “Hmm, finally! Peace of mind ...” I uttered while removing my clothes. The only sound I heard was the buzzing of insects and birdsong in the early morning light, and I was the only human present. I thought, while descending into the water.
“Hmm, every night I will visit this place...” I murmured while swimming. Last night I didn’t enjoy the water because it was too crowded and I was tired from the day’s activities.
After a few minutes, I heard crackles and the feel of the cool water around me. I immediately stopped swimming and looked at my surroundings.
“Is anyone here?!” I boldly asked, even though I saw nothing in the area.
[Sound of crackling on the other side of the lake...]
I could make out the shape of the descent into the water at the far end of the spring, barely illuminated by the pale moonlight.
“I know someone is there! Speak up, or you will be in trouble!” I’m not sure if the intruder noticed the fear in my voice, but I knew in myself that I was nervous.
“Am I in trouble? I didn’t know that this lake had an owner ...” A teasing voice broke the silence of the night.
The clouds obscuring the moon gradually parted, causing the surroundings to shine. Who is he?! I panicked, seeing the face of the ‘intruder.’ The guy had viking-gold hair, brisk eyebrows, and sea rover-blue eyes. The aquiline nose he sported complemented his prominent cheekbones. Handsome in an understated way, his basalt jaw and Spartan shoulders spoke of strength.
“You’re not a member of the Sapphire pack! So who are you?!” I coldly asked. Although the man in front of me was oozing with handsomeness, I still didn’t flinch.
“Ha Ha Ha, are you sure about that? As I remember, I am ...” the guy responded and stopped one meter away from me. “You’re not a member of the pack, so who are you? You’re trespassing on private property ...” the man commented while looking at my forehead.
“You have a mark ...” I whispered as I noticed the mark on his forehead. I didn’t notice it earlier out of fear.
“Mind answering my question?” the guy mockingly remarks.
“I’m Leila Aragon, and yes, I am not a member of the pack ... at least not yet ...” I answered confidently. Knowing the guy is not an intruder, I feel relief.
The guy smiled, “I’m Leonel Adam Santiago, the Beta of the Sapphire pack ...”
Oh my god! This handsome man is the Beta? While staring at Adam, I exclaimed in silence. “I’m sorry for my attitude earlier. I’m clueless about who you are,” I muttered in explanation.
“I did not expect to see the famous Leila Aragon here ...” Adam commented with a smile on his face.
“It’s nice to meet you, but I need to go,” Although Adam introduced himself, I didn’t completely believe what he was saying, so I swam to get out of the water.
“Leaving right away? Don’t tell me you don’t believe me?” Adam responded when he saw me dressing.
I accept what you are saying, but I must be going now. Bradley is probably looking at me now ...” I beamed.
Adam went up as well. “Then let me accompany you to the exit of the forest.”
“Please continue with your swim; I can take care of myself,” I declined his offer with a poker face.
Seeing my serious face, Adam did not insist. “Then take care, and see you tomorrow,”
I smiled and walked away ... While roaming; I thought of Adam again ... The guy will not lag in physical appearance to Bradley, although for me, the latter is the best for looks and appeal.
“Sadly, Adam is not my mate ...” I shook my head and focused my sights on the path ahead of me.
Darkness descended as the moon was swallowed up by the thick, dark clouds. Because of this, I did not notice the hands that suddenly grabbed me.
I wanted to yell, but I was silenced by the person who had me cornered against the rough bark of the tree.

Who is this guy? Oh god, I wish I had agreed to be sent by Adam earlier ... Full of remorse while trying to identify the man who captivated me.
“Hmm, your smell is so sweet like in my dreams ...” the guy uttered while sniffing my neck. “If you want to avoid the harsh consequences of being hurt, do nothing rash.”
His hand felt like an iron grip around my waist, and I was trembling with fear as he drew me nearer. “Who are you? What do you want from me?” I asked when the guy removed his hand covering my mouth.
“Are you a nitwit? I couldn't imagine my life without you! You belong to me now!” the man declared, before claiming my lips with haste.
No! No! My tears dripped quickly as I pushed the man away, but no matter what I did, I couldn’t get out of the man’s arms.
I wished I had waited for Bradley, but now it was too late to turn back. If I had heeded his warnings, I wouldn't be stuck in this mess. No! I won’t give up! Perhaps Bradley is on his way here to find me! With this thought, I gathered my courage and bit the man’s lip before assaulting his manhood with my knees.
“Help! Bradley!” I screamed when I got rid of the guy.
But before I could take a single step away, the man leapt onto me, and we tumbled to the ground.
“Let me go, you crazy bastard! Bradley will be here soon!” I screamed as I tried to escape.
“In your dreams! The Alpha is in the lock-up meeting with the council, so he can’t save you!” the unidentified man remarks while pinning me to the ground.
This guy doesn’t know the bond I have with Bradley, so he’s comfortable that Bradley won’t learn I’m in danger ...
