chapter 20
Dawson grabbed Bailey and made him to sit in the lounge chair. He brought out the food and served it first to Hayley. "I'll look after her here." Rachel scooped the soup with a spoon and delivered it to Hayley's mouth. Hayley shook her head as she approached Dawson. "Please allow me to assist."
Dawson extended his hand to Rachel, intending for her to hand him the bowl and spoon, but Rachel pushed the hand aside. "She's my daughter. I can handle it." Hayley clearly removed her foot and shifted her weight toward Dawson.
Rachel mourned in some way as soon as she noticed Hayley's pale face staring at her with concealed harshness. She asked presumably while groaning softly to her. "Now you prefer an outsider to me?" Hayley simply ignored her and leaned in Dawson's arms, her left hand grasping the edge of Dawson's shirt.
The weather was challenging. Along the edge, Bailey looked at Nadia and then at Kaylie before moving and pulling Rachel's dress, while Kaylie said."Mummy, can you please come over?." Rachel's brow, which was firmly pressed in some way. Her attention was drawn elsewhere, and she turned her head, saying."Coming. " The surroundings aided.Dawson murmured as he stroked Hayley's hair.
"Do you blame your mother for not dealing with you and causing you to fall down the stairs, Princess?" Hayley shook her head, still in his arms. She looked at Dawson with an expendable measure of resentment in her eyes. "Why?" Dawson was slightly perplexed. "I don't want my mother to marry Uncle Evan."
Dawson grimaced subliminally as he heard this sentence and looked at Rachel, who was messing around with Bailey, Kaylie, and Nadia. It was unavoidable that children were hesitant to acknowledge their parents' remarriage.
Rachel would undoubtedly disregard what her children thought, especially since Bailey couldn't speak. When he reflected on this, foreboding shadows lingered over him. "Your mother and family unquestionably adore you and your siblings. Whether or not she marries uncle Evan, she will always treat you and your siblings with love" Hayley shook her head slowly.
Her face was twisted by intense agony. "What exactly is going on?" Dawson rested his hand on her shoulder."You don't like Uncle Evan?" Hayley stumbled slightly. She gestured and whispered into Dawson's ear, as if she had decided on something.
"Uncle Evan is a bad man; I'd rather have you as my father." Dawson wanted to chuckle and sob at the same time after hearing these words. He had no idea how to explain to a youngster that the marriage of adults was not unreasonably simple.
It wasn't so much that kids could influence the outcome by saying who they liked or disliked. Rachel had clearly finished assisting the three children with completing a series of the game. She got up, strolled over and inquired.
"What is she saying to you?" "She simply tells me what she wants to eat my food at night.
" Rachel questioned him after noticing his terrified expression. He had previously stood up and said quickly when she was about to continue asking.
"Overall, I need to return to do the work arrangement, so I'll leave first. I might show up later in the evening. If you're all hungry, just go get something to eat."
Dawson quickly fled after completing the speaking process. The ward's entrance was immediately closed. Rachel and the four children were once again left in charge of the ward. Nadia squatted on the couch, frantically teasing Kaylie. In any case, when Dawson left, she ignored him as well.
Bailey, on the other hand, looked at the door as if expecting Dawson to return. "Bailey," Rachel said delicately and calmly. When Bailey realized Dawson would not return, he joined Hayley on the bed, ignoring his mother. Rachel paused for a moment after seeing this.
She looked at Nadia, who was sitting on the couch, and remembered that Bailey had repeatedly asked her to welcome Dawson and Nadia as visitors to their home. She was most likely attempting to curry favor with Bailey in this manner.
"Kids, how about this: when Hayley is released from the clinic, I'll throw a little party at home and invite Dawson and Nadia to join us, OK?" The triplet, as expected, raised their heads. Their eyes were filled with gratitude. Bailey wrote something on the scratch pad and showed it to his mother.
"You need to apologize to us, Mummy."
Rachel froze for a moment. She did a self-evaluation and concluded that it was her fault for drinking excessively and, surprisingly, failing to notice that Hayley had fallen down the steps not far from her door. She was certainly careless.

Greg then got up early again at the start of the day. Williams, his own personal assistant, had recently returned from Rachel's house and had brought back some previously unexplored news. "Obviously, you discovered it. Is it intentional that Hayley falls from the second floor this time, or is it a mishap?" "It should be a mishap." Williams appeared solemn.
"I've asked all of the housekeepers. That evening, the housekeeper, who was committed to putting the children to rest, went to make something for herself. As a result, there was to be no one in the hall of the next floor."
"Not even a solitary individual?" Greg was extremely skeptical. There were more than twenty servants in that big house.
It was truly shocking that no one was present when Hayley had the mishap. Furthermore, when Hayley moved down the steps from the next floor, it caused quite a commotion, yet it took a shockingly long time for someone to notice.
"Sir Evan was also present that day. He brought many gifts, so the housekeepers went to divide them among themselves."
"Evan?" Greg scowled, his face obscured in some way.He spoke up. "Where was he when Hayley got into trouble?" If it was done on purpose, he couldn't think of a second person with such a motivation other than Evan. "Evan, you cunning jerk!" Greg gritted his teeth.
