"Hi Drake! This is Gill, my best friend!"
Diane pulled me to sit in the opposite seat of this guy named Drake based on what Diane said. Even though I'm confused, I sat down and waited for Diane to sit next to me.
"She's the one I'm telling you. Please, take care of my best friend!"
When I heard her say that, I immediately turned to Diane and she faced me with a big smile. That smile of her looks si innocent but behind that it thinks and does a lot of stupid things.
"What are you talking about? Come on, sit here."
"I just remembered that I have to go somewhere today with my mom. I'll leave you with Drake for now, that's okay, right?"
I just glared at her and simply looked at Drake who was smiling at me and I could see the deep dimple on his left cheek. Why so cute?!
"I'm so sorry Drake but I'll just talk to my best friend in the corner."
"Haha yeah go ahead." His answer made me laugh.
"Follow me." I told Diane emphatically but it was almost a whisper but I knew she heard.
"Girl! What are you planning?!"
"What?! What plan are you talking about?"
"This is the blind date you're talking about that I rejected, right?"
"Ofcourse not!"
"Admit it, Diane! You've been caught."
"Tsk! Fine! You still don't like it? Just so you know, Drake is so handsome!"
She said with a big smile on her face and poked me in my side as if she was teasing me right now with Drake. I just held my breath for this girl.
"He's just cute because of his dimple. But I still don't like the blind date thing."
"Yiieee! For the first time I heard from you that you thought the guy I just introduce to you is cute. Maybe Drake is really the icing on your cupcake!"
"He's the only one I can call cute because I've never been on a blind date before, right?" I said to her and couldn't helpt it but to roll my eyes.
I was going to pinch Diane's side but we got sidetracked by a passing customer, I just remembered that we were in the hallway of the restroom so I pulled her to entered the restroom. It's good and somehow it's spacious here.
"I have no intention of having a relationship! I told ypu that, didn't I?"
"You just thought you didn't want it! Just try this date with Drake."
"You're really stubborn! How many times did aunt give on birth to you?"
She just blinked at what I said and crossed her arms.
"I don't about mom, she didn't say it. Don't worry, I'll ask her."
I just give up, I have no more answer for this girl. Everything I say to her, she has an answer.
"Can I.. Sis, let me just hug your neck tightly." That's all I could say to her because I really likes to strangle her sometimes.
We went back to the table where we left Drake was sitting and even though I didn't want to do this, I still sat again on the other side of his chair and tormented Diane before she said goodbye to leave. It's also embarrassing for this person that Diane bothered just to meet me. I'll probably just hurry up and finish the food so that it will be over immediately, I don't even know what to do about this date thing because for a long time Diane has been directing me to blind dates and only now I actually went because my good friend tricked me, she told me that she would treat me at the newly opened restaurant here in Cavite and it turned out that someone else would be the one who will treat me. You're right, Drake said it's free, he'll pay for everything. Diane told me earlier.
"Let me introduce myself again. Hi! I'm Drake Jon Cuevas but everyone calls me Drake."
He introduced himself while smiling again so that his deep dimple came out. It's really cute! He also extended his hand in front of me, I kept looking at his hand and at his face because the truth is that I am ashamed to have a skinship with other people because I feel the roughness of my hand because of the amount of work I have done in this hand.
"Hi! I'm Gilliana Marie Vuenasanchez, better known as Gill. Nice to meet you Drake"
I responded with a smile and in the end I accepted his outstretched hand. I know my face is red from embarrassment because I don't know if he felt the roughness of my palm. I just wish he didn't.
"Nice meeting you too, Gill" He replied and gently squeezed my palm.
"How did you and Diane meet?"
I'm curious here or I just really don't have a topic to open, because it's awkward if after we introduce ourselves, we'll suddenly goes quiet at our table.
"We're batchmates."
That's his short answer to my question, I just 'aahh' here and then took a bite of the pasta that was served to us earlier.
"And the last time we had a chat in our GC, Diane opened up about who is willing to attend a blind date. Hahaha"
I almost choked at what he said, I didn't expect Diane to be the one to open a topic like that or maybe Diane used to actually open a topic on a blind date. She's really abnormal!
"Actually, there's a three of us answered at the same time hahahah"
He said that and he really laughed at his story. It made me smile too because it's so cute that his deep dimples shows whenever he smile or laugh. Holy moly! I really want to pinch that dimple.
"She said she would only choose one and guess what she made us do to be chosen for today's blind date."
I swallowed the pasta I had eaten earlier before answering him. I was eating while he was telling a story, maybe that's okay?
"Did she made you recite?" I just based my answer on Diane's personality. Knowing her, she likes to make her class recite hahaha.
"Nope but that's her first option hahaha"
"Oh, that's not it? Hahaha, what is it then?"
I was intrigued by the nonsense Diane did to them. He drank his water first while staring at me. What was that, is it really necessary to look at me while drinking, just drink it.
"She made us do rock, paper and scissors hahahaha"
He said that and laughed out loud, I immediately looked around us because his laughter may have disturbed the other customers but to my surprised the other customers were stay unbothered by his loud laugh.
"Rock, paper and scissors in gc?"
"Yeah hahaha we used emoji's"
"Hahaha, I didn't expect that she would make you do that. She's really childish sometimes" I also laughed at the thought that they did that just for a blind date. I will really pinch that woman when we meet again.
I couldn't stop laughing so I covered my face and tried to calm myself down before facing him again.
I can see his face now that there are still traces of laughter because of his funny story.
"Ofcourse, I won that online rock, paper and scissors" He said with a wink and smile again.
"By the way I used rock and the other guys used scissors hahaha I guess we're really meant to meet."
