CHAPTER 93 #noodle party

By the time evening rolled around, the gym was unrecognizable. Balloons were everywhere. Tied to chairs, taped to the walls, floating along the ceiling, bouncing under people’s shoes—basically, it looked like a balloon factory had exploded inside.
When the first students walked in, their mouths fell open.
“Whoa… this is an actual party?” one guy gasped, dodging a balloon that floated into his face.
“This is insane. Balloons everywhere! It feels like prom and a carnival had a baby,” another laughed, grabbing a cup of juice.
“Honestly, I thought we’d just see one sad streamer and a pack of stale chips. But this… this is huge.”
Within minutes, the gym was full of chatter, laughter, and the squeaky sound of balloons being kicked and popped underfoot. Tables lined the walls with steaming noodles stacked in bowls, and students were already lining up like it was a feast.
Sarah leaned close to Amy, whispering, “They actually believe this is real. They think we planned all this.”
Amy grinned, noodles hanging out of her mouth. “Of course. We’re geniuses. Balloons are the new chandeliers.”
Then the gym doors flung open.
Chloe entered like she owned the place—heels clicking, hair shining, and a smirk plastered across her face. She clearly came to mock Amy and Sarah in front of everyone.
But then she stopped dead.
Her smirk wavered as she took in the sight: balloons everywhere, music blasting, students dancing, cheering, laughing, noodles vanishing like candy.
“What… the…” Chloe muttered, blinking.
Two girls bounced past her, giggling with plates in their hands. “Best party ever! Look at all these balloons! Genius idea!”
Chloe’s face twisted. She had come expecting disaster—two broke girls humiliated in front of the whole school. Instead, she walked into… success.
Amy spotted her from across the room and elbowed Sarah. “Incoming storm cloud.”
Sarah smirked without even looking. “Not this time. Look at her. She’s choking on her own attitude.”
Chloe stood frozen in the doorway, her plan to shame them already crumbling before her eyes.
**************************
The gym buzzed with music, chatter, and the occasional pop! of a balloon meeting its tragic end under someone’s shoe. Everyone looked dazzled by the decorations, snapping pictures and laughing like it was the party of the year.
Amy leaned in close to Sarah, covering her mouth with her hand like she was spilling state secrets.
“They don’t know,” Amy whispered dramatically, her eyes wide.
Sarah blinked. “Don’t know what?”
Amy tilted her head toward the food table. “That the party food is… noodles.”
Sarah froze, then burst out laughing so hard she nearly dropped her cup. “Oh nooo! Imagine their faces when they realize!”
Amy, buzzing with excitement, spotted the microphone on stage. Without thinking twice, she snatched it up, tapped it twice, and the speakers screeched. The whole gym fell silent, every pair of eyes turning toward her.
She grinned nervously, then puffed her chest like a celebrity host.
“Welcome, everyone… to the one and only Amy and Sarah’s Party!” she declared, stretching her arms wide like she was unveiling fireworks.
The crowd cheered, clapping and stomping.
Sarah, standing off to the side, facepalmed. “Oh no. She’s doing the voice again.”
Amy ignored her, continuing with her speech. “Tonight, you will laugh! You will dance! You will eat food so delicious it will… change your life forever!” She winked dramatically.
Lily whispered to Chelsea, “She’s talking about noodles, isn’t she?”
Chelsea nodded, trying not to laugh. “Definitely noodles.”
Amy raised her hand in triumph, pointing toward the snack table. “So grab a plate, grab a friend, and let’s make history—because tonight, we prove that fun doesn’t need money!”
The crowd erupted in applause, not yet realizing their “life-changing food” was stacks of steaming instant noodles.
Sarah muttered under her breath, tugging Amy’s sleeve, “You’re overselling it, genius. The second they see the noodles, they’ll riot.”
Lily suddenly marched out with a giant tray, steam rising like a cloud. “Food’s ready!” she announced.
The entire room went quiet. Everyone craned their necks. On the tray… was a mountain of instant noodles.
For three full seconds, the gym was dead silent. Then one guy in the back shouted, “WAIT. Is that… noodles?!”
The crowd broke into laughter. Some clutched their stomachs, others pulled out their phones, recording every second. Hashtags were already flying online: #NoodleParty, #AmyAndSarahLegendary, #BetterThanPizza.
Meanwhile, Lily handed out the noodles  like a pro. “One cup per person. Don’t fight over it.”
A tall guy took the first bite, then froze. “Wait…” He chewed again, eyes wide. “This is actually… really good!”
“WHAT?” another student yelled, rushing over to try it.
Soon the line stretched across the gym. Students slurped, laughed, and filmed themselves. “This is the best party food ever!” someone shouted.
Chloe froze mid-step. Her eyes went wide.
“What… the actual…” she whispered, clutching her glittery phone tighter. She hadn’t expected this. She thought she’d walk in on Amy and Sarah embarrassed, with three people and half a bag of chips. Instead, the place looked like an actual party.
Amy stood on stage with the microphone, beaming. “Welcome to Amy and Sarah’s party—where noodles are the new pizza!” The crowd cheered so loud Chloe flinched.
Her shock quickly twisted into fury. She stomped in further, throwing her free hand into the air. “OH, THIS IS RICH!” she cackled, phone raised high as she filmed. “Instant noodles? REALLY? This is your big party food?!”
Students turned, eyebrows raised. Chloe spun slowly, recording everything with exaggerated drama. “I’m posting this. The whole school will see how PATHETIC this is! A noodle party?! Don’t make me laugh!”
Sarah leaned toward Amy, whispering, “Too late—she already sounds like a broken kettle.”
Amy rolled her eyes. “More like a broken salt shaker.”
But before Chloe could continue, a boy near the back shouted through a mouthful of noodles, “Yo—this is AMAZING!”
A girl beside him laughed. “Seriously, this is way better than cafeteria slop!”
The crowd buzzed as more students dug in, nodding in agreement. Phones that had been on Chloe suddenly turned away—capturing noodles, laughter, and the unexpected success of the party.
Chloe’s laughter faltered. Her smirk wavered.
Sarah smirked, muttering just loud enough for Amy to hear, “Her documentary just got canceled.”
Amy grinned into the mic. “That’s right, everybody! Welcome to the legendary noodle party of the year!”
