Amy and Sarah stumbled into their dorm room like burglars caught in the act, each of them weighed down by giant shopping bags. Their arms stretched like noodles, fingers barely holding on. Amy had three bags hanging from one hand and three from the other, her body tilting dangerously to the left. Sarah, not much better, walked in zigzag, trying to keep the mountain of groceries from spilling everywhere. “Quick, quick!” Amy hissed, kicking the door shut with her foot. “Before anyone sees us!” Sarah gasped for air, knees wobbling. “Do you know… how hard it is… to look casual with… twelve bags of goodies stuck to your arm?!” Amy dropped her load onto the bed with a loud thud, shaking the mattress. “We’re walking zigzag like undercover agents!!" Sarah collapsed next to her, dumping her bags onto the floor. “Undercover agents? We looked like two penguins carrying the entire zoo! Everyone saw us wobbling down the hall!” Amy threw herself backward dramatically, hand on her forehead. “Great. Wonderful. Now the whole school thinks we robbed the supermarket.” Sarah peeked into one of the bags and pulled out a soda bottle."indeed." Amy sat up, eyes wide and serious. “We say this is for… the party." Sarah rolled her eyes. “Right." ----------- Amy and Sarah sat cross-legged in the middle of their dorm, surrounded by mountains of plastic bags. Chips spilled out on one side, soda bottles clinked against each other on the other, and right in the center was their “main dish”—a tall stack of instant noodle packs, wobbling like a dangerous tower. Sarah stared at it, deadpan. “So… this is it? Instant noodles? Our legendary party food?” Amy grinned proudly, holding one up like it was a five-star meal. “Yes. Behold! Instant noodles—the cuisine of champions, kings, and broke students everywhere.” Sarah raised an eyebrow. “You do realize the entire school is coming, right? We’re about to feed hundreds of people with… fifty packets of noodles.” Amy waved her off. “Relax. We’ll make it look fancy. Serve it in cups, sprinkle some seasoning on top, boom—gourmet!” Sarah groaned, flopping backward onto the bed. “Gourmet? Amy, it’s hot water and sadness in a cup.” Amy ignored her, already stacking paper cups into a neat little pyramid. “Think positive. People love noodles. And if they don’t—” she shrugged dramatically, “—then we’ll distract them with balloons. Nobody argues with balloons.” Sarah sat up, holding a cup suspiciously. “Are you planning to hand people plain noodles in a cup and call it a meal?” Amy snatched the cup and gave it a twirl like a fancy waiter. “Not just plain noodles. Party noodles!” Sarah laughed so hard she almost fell off the bed. “Party noodles? Amy, that’s literally just regular noodles but louder!” Amy nodded solemnly. “Exactly. Branding is everything.” The two of them stared at the pile of noodle packets, then at each other. Sarah sighed. “Well… if this goes wrong, at least everyone will leave full of carbs.” Amy smirked, tearing open another pack. “Carbs and chaos—that’s our party theme.” -------- The dorm kitchen was already in chaos. Pots boiled, water spilled, and noodles were stacked everywhere like bricks waiting for construction. Amy was stirring one pot with dramatic seriousness, while Sarah squinted at another, waving a ladle like it was a sword. Amy sighed, dropping into a chair dramatically. “What if Adrian was the one who paid?” Sarah rolled her eyes, tossing a packet of seasoning into the pot. “Please. You saw him walk away. Do you think golden-boy Adrian would pay for us? No way.” Amy pouted, twirling a fork. “He looked suspicious. Maybe he did it Secretly." Sarah groaned so loud it echoed in the kitchen. “ammmmmyyy." Just then, a loud knock-knock-knock rattled their door. Sarah wiped her hands on her shirt dramatically. “I’ll get it!" She flung open the door, Lily and Chelsea stood there, both looking way too cheerful. “Thank goodness both of you are here!” sarah exclaimed. “We’re drowning in noodles!” Lily and Chelsea exchanged a confused look, but before they could speak, sarah dragged them inside. The moment they stepped into the kitchen, Chelsea’s jaw dropped. Amy was halfway through crunching on raw noodles straight from the pack. Sarah threw her hands up. “See?! See what I’m dealing with?! She’s not even cooking them, Lily! She’s eating them like a goat!” Amy pointed the uncooked block at her defensively. “Excuse me?! Don’t disrespect my crunchy lifestyle!” Sarah snatched a frying pan off the counter and held it up like a shield. “Crunchy lifestyle, my foot! You’re a disgrace to noodles everywhere!” Amy grabbed another frying pan, narrowing her eyes. “Oh, it’s war now. You wanna fight, noodle hater?” The two of them started circling each other like gladiators, pans raised, noodles crunching in Amy’s mouth the whole time. Lily just sighed and shook her head. “Unbelievable…” She stepped forward, dodging Sarah’s wild pan swing. “Give me that before you two destroy the kitchen!” Chelsea clapped her hands nervously. “Uhm… are we still making food, or are we filming a comedy show?” Amy and Sarah froze mid-swing, pans in the air, then both yelled at once: “BOTH!” Lily glanced around the messy counters—piles of instant noodle packets, pots boiling like volcanoes, Amy still nibbling raw noodles like a rabbit. Her eyebrows shot up. "So… party food is noodles? That’s it?” Sarah dropped her frying pan and groaned, pointing at Amy. “See? Even Lily thinks this is insane! We’re about to host half the dorm and this girl’s idea of catering is boiling plastic-wrapped noodles.” Amy puffed her cheeks, offended. “Excuse me, noodles are a universal treasure. Everyone loves noodles. Rich, poor, tall, short—noodles unite humanity!” Chelsea squinted, tilting her head. “You make it sound like noodles are… world peace.” Amy raised her noodle block dramatically like a prophet holding sacred scripture. “Maybe they are.” Lily sighed, hands on her hips. “This is tragic. You’re calling this a party, but all I see is sodium poisoning waiting to happen.” Sarah collapsed against the counter, dramatic as ever. “Thank you, Lily! Finally! Someone with a brain!” Amy narrowed her eyes, crunching another bite of raw noodles just to spite them. “You’ll all regret this when I become a world-famous noodle chef.” Chelsea whispered to Sarah, “She’s lost it.” Sarah whispered back, “She never had it.”
