The ‘Walking Aimlessly Because None of Us Have a Plan’ Scene
The group walked.
That was all they could really do.
Walk.
Because, let’s be honest—none of them had a single clue what to do next.
Jax, arms crossed, muttered, “So… anyone gonna suggest a game plan? Or are we just gonna keep walking until we eventually drop dead from confusion?”
Sienna snorted. “Your optimism is refreshing, as always.”
Elara, still feeling very not-human, sighed. “Okay. Realistically speaking, we should find a place to rest. A safe place.”
Jax gestured dramatically. “Oh yes, let me just pull out my fantasy map and find us a five-star inn with free WiFi—”
Lucienne shot him a look. “Jax.”
Jax held up his hands. “Alright, alright. I’m coping. Let me have this.”
Sienna, rubbing her temples, muttered, “We should at least figure out what’s in our pockets. Maybe we have something useful.”
Everyone immediately patted themselves down.
Jax pulled out an empty gum wrapper.
Sienna found a broken pencil.
Elara had a random bobby pin.
Lucienne?
Lucienne pulled out a single, mysterious coin.
The group stared at her.
Jax frowned. “Why do you get the only item that actually looks important?”
Lucienne shrugged. “Skill issue.”

The ‘Why Are We Like This’ Scene
After approximately ten minutes of wandering, getting mildly lost, and Jax almost tripping over a suspicious-looking root, the group finally came across a small clearing.
It was quiet. Too quiet.
Sienna, hands on her hips, sighed. “Alright. Let’s do something productive.”
Jax flopped onto the ground dramatically. “Like what? Make a campfire and share our deepest, darkest secrets?”
Lucienne ignored him. “We should go over what we know.”
Jax groaned. “Ugh, homework.”
Elara, sitting on a nearby rock, sighed. “Okay. We know that we’re… not entirely human. That something changed in us when we arrived here.”
Sienna nodded. “And we know that our eyes glow now.”
Jax muttered, “Don’t remind me.”
Lucienne studied the mysterious coin she found. “And we know that this place doesn’t feel normal. Like we were… meant to be here.”
Silence.
Jax sat up. “Alright. But what we don’t know is why we’re here, who brought us here, and whether or not we’re about to get yeeted into a death quest.”
Sienna blinked. “Yeeted into a what now?”
Jax waved his hands. “Y’know. The classic ‘oh no, you’re the chosen ones, now go slay a dragon’ kind of nonsense.”
Elara tilted her head. “…That would actually be kind of cool.”
Jax stared at her. “Elara. No.”
Elara held up her hands. “I’m just saying!”

The ‘Sudden Realization That We Should Probably Eat’ Scene
After way too much time spent joking about glowing eyeballs and potential dragon-slaying adventures, reality finally kicked in.
They were starving.
Sienna clutched her stomach. “Alright. New priority: food.”
Jax groaned. “Ugh. Do we really have to forage? That feels so… survival show.”
Lucienne raised an eyebrow. “What, you expecting a fantasy Uber Eats to show up?”
Jax pointed at her. “Yes. That’s exactly what I want.”
Elara, standing up, brushed herself off. “Okay. Let’s split up and look for something edible.”
Jax frowned. “Wait. Are we even sure we know what’s edible?”
Sienna paused. “…Oh.”
Lucienne sighed. “Just don’t eat anything that looks suspicious.”
Jax threw his hands up. “Everything looks suspicious! I don’t know how to identify fantasy berries!”
Sienna patted his shoulder. “Don’t worry. If you eat something poisonous, we’ll let you know after you start foaming at the mouth.”
Jax deadpanned. “Wow. So reassuring.”

The ‘Great Foraging Disaster of the Year’ Scene
Ten minutes later, the group regrouped with their “findings.”
Jax had a handful of weirdly-shaped berries.
Sienna had some random mushrooms.
Lucienne found some kind of leafy plant.
Elara returned with absolutely nothing.
Elara sighed. “I found zero things that looked remotely safe.”
Jax pointed at his berries. “Okay, but these look kind of normal, right?”
Lucienne squinted at them. “They’re… glowing.”
Jax frowned. “Oh.”
Sienna inspected her mushrooms. “Okay, but what if these are edible?”
Elara hesitated. “Mushrooms are usually either really healthy or really deadly. There’s no in-between.”
Jax crossed his arms. “Okay, so… rock-paper-scissors for who tests the food?”
Lucienne facepalmed. “You guys are impossible.”
Sienna, grinning, handed a mushroom to Jax. “Go on. Live a little.”
Jax held it like it was a literal grenade. “I’m about to meet my ancestors.”
Lucienne rolled her eyes and finally pulled out the coin she found.
“Let’s do this properly. Heads, we test the mushrooms. Tails, we test the berries.”
Jax squinted. “And what about the leaves?”
Lucienne flipped the coin.
It landed on the ground.
And immediately started glowing.
Silence.
Jax slowly backed away. “Oh HELL no.”
Sienna, wide-eyed, whispered, “Did that just—”
Elara stared.
Lucienne?
Lucienne just picked it back up like nothing happened. “Interesting.”
Jax gestured wildly. “INTERESTING??? THAT THING JUST DID FREAKY MAGIC STUFF.”
Lucienne ignored him, studying the coin. “It reacted to something. Maybe the food?”
Sienna hesitated, then held up a mushroom.
Nothing happened.
Jax held up the glowing berries.
Still nothing.
Elara, curious, held out her hand.
The coin flickered again.
Jax froze. “Okay. Nope. I don’t like that.”
Lucienne frowned. “It’s responding to you.”
Elara swallowed. “Why?”
No one had an answer.
Jax slowly sat down. “I’m gonna pretend I didn’t see that.”
Lucienne sighed. “We need more information. Let’s not eat anything until we’re sure.”
Sienna, disappointed, muttered, “There goes my mushroom omelet dream.”
Jax pointed at the glowing berries. “And my radioactive snack.”
Elara, still staring at the coin, felt her heart race.
Something about it felt… connected to her.
And she wasn’t sure if she liked that.Download Novelah App
