The ‘Existential Crisis Part 2’ Scene
Elara was so done.
First, they weren’t human. Now, they were still changing into… what, exactly?
She ran a hand down her face. "Okay. So we’re still transforming. Into what, exactly?"
Kael, as usual, looked annoyingly amused. "That depends on your bloodline."
Jax groaned. "Great. Just great. So what, I wake up tomorrow with horns?"
Kael smirked. "Possibly."
Jax looked genuinely distressed.
Lucienne patted his shoulder. "There, there, demon boy."
Jax, offended. "EXCUSE ME?"
Sienna snorted. "At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised."
Elara, rubbing her temples. "Can we focus? We still don’t know what we’re actually turning into."
Kael stretched lazily. "You’ll figure it out. Or die in the process."
Silence.
Jax, squinting. "Is that supposed to be reassuring?"
Kael, deadpan. "No."
---
The ‘More Symptoms’ Scene
The next morning, things got worse.
Jax woke up and immediately screamed.
Lucienne, running in. "WHAT HAPPENED?!"
Jax, pointing at himself. "LOOK AT MY EARS!"
They… were pointed. Like an elf’s.
Lucienne stared. "Oh."
Sienna, walking in, groggy. "Why are you yelling—" She stopped. "Oh."
Jax, panicked. "THIS IS NOT AN ‘OH’ MOMENT."
Elara finally entered. "What’s going—" She paused. "Oh."
Jax looked betrayed. "WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP SAYING ‘OH’?! THIS IS A CRISIS."
Lucienne shrugged. "At least you look cool."
Jax, offended. "THAT’S NOT THE POINT."
Kael leaned in the doorway, watching like this was the best entertainment he’d had all week. "Congratulations. You’re evolving."
Jax, dramatic. "I DIDN’T ASK TO BE A POKÉMON."
Elara groaned. "We need answers. Now."
Kael smirked. "Then let’s go find them."
---
The ‘Reality is Hitting Hard’ Scene
Elara sat with her face buried in her hands.
She was exhausted.
Between the non-human transformations, the growing list of problems, and Kael’s smug face, she was one inconvenience away from committing a war crime.
Jax, on the other hand, was still screaming internally about his elf ears.
Lucienne? Trying (and failing) to suppress laughter.
Sienna? Eating bread like this was just another Tuesday.
Kael? Having the time of his life.
Elara sighed deeply. "Okay. So… we need answers. Like, now."
Jax, aggressively pointing at himself. "And a way to fix THIS."
Kael just smiled. "Nope."
Silence.
Jax, glaring. "Excuse me?"
Kael shrugged. "You can’t ‘fix’ something that’s meant to happen."
Jax looked one inconvenience away from throwing hands.
Elara sighed. "Alright, new plan. We go somewhere that actually has information on what’s happening to us. Any suggestions?"
Kael smirked. "I might know a place."
Jax crossed his arms. "Of course you do."
Lucienne stretched. "If it’s another dangerous journey, I’m in."
Sienna, deadpan. "We almost DIED last time."
Lucienne, grinning. "Exactly."
Elara stood up. "Alright. Let’s move."
---
The ‘Unexpected Visitors’ Scene
They hadn’t even taken three steps before something exploded.
Jax, tired. "I hate this world."
Elara turned sharply. "What was that?!"
Kael narrowed his eyes. "Company."
And just like that, masked figures appeared.
Sienna, groaning. "More enemies? Great."
Lucienne cracked her knuckles. "I’ve been waiting for a fight."
Jax, looking at his hands. "Uh. Do I even know how to fight with… whatever new powers I have?"
Kael, smirking. "Guess you’ll find out."
Jax, horrified. "THAT’S NOT HOW THIS WORKS."
Elara gritted her teeth. "We don’t have time for this. Just—fight!"
The battle erupted.
---
The ‘We Might Actually Die’ Scene
The problem?
These guys weren’t normal enemies.
Lucienne, ducking an attack. "Uh, guys? They’re FAST."
Sienna barely dodged a blade. "Yeah, no kidding!"
Jax, panicking. "What do I do?! WHAT DO I DO?!"
Kael, smirking mid-fight. "Adapt or die."
Jax, offended. "THAT’S NOT ADVICE."
Elara gritted her teeth. "Just focus! We need to take them down!"
And then—
One of the masked figures lunged at Elara.
She barely dodged, heart pounding. But before she could react—
A blade was at her throat.
Elara froze.
The enemy tilted their head. "Interesting. You are not what you seem."
Elara’s blood ran cold.
Kael’s eyes darkened. "Let. Her. Go."
And just like that, the real battle began.
---
The ‘I Did Not Sign Up for This’ Scene
Elara’s breath hitched.
A blade pressed against her throat.
Her heartbeat was so loud she almost missed what the masked figure whispered.
"You are not what you seem."
Elara’s blood ran cold.
She didn’t know what that meant, but it wasn’t good.
Kael, however, was already moving.
His sword clashed against the enemy’s blade in a sharp, ringing sound. Sparks flew.
Elara stumbled back, gripping her neck.
The masked figure barely flinched. Their head tilted again—like they were analyzing her.
Kael was NOT having it.
"Touch her again, and I’ll make sure you regret it."
The enemy laughed.
Not a normal laugh.
A distorted, inhuman laugh that sent shivers down her spine.
Lucienne, panting mid-fight, "Oh, GREAT. They’re creepy, too."
Sienna, dodging a dagger. "I vote we run."
Jax, literally panicking. "HOW?! WE’RE SURROUNDED?!"
Elara barely had time to think before the enemy vanished.
No sound. No warning. Just—gone.
And just like that—so were the rest of the masked figures.
Silence.
Lucienne, hands on her knees. "…What just happened?"
Kael’s grip tightened on his sword. "They were testing us."
Jax, completely done. "TESTING US FOR WHAT?!"
Kael’s eyes met Elara’s.
She knew.
They weren’t testing all of them.
Just her.
---
The ‘We Need Answers’ Scene
The group didn’t wait around.
Kael led them through the forest, moving with frustrating confidence while everyone else was tired, injured, and extremely over it.
Lucienne, groaning. "Can we take a break?"
Kael, not even looking back. "No."
Jax, glaring. "Why not?!"
Kael, smirking. "Because they’re watching us."
Silence.
Jax, horrified. "…EXCUSE ME?!"
Sienna, eating more bread. "Sounds fake, but okay."
Kael just shrugged. "They left, but that doesn’t mean they’re gone."
Lucienne sighed. "I hate how that makes sense."
Elara, arms crossed. "Then where are we going?"
Kael hesitated.
Then he said, "To someone who actually has answers."
---
The ‘Why Is This Place So Suspicious’ Scene
It took them two hours to reach their destination.
And the moment they stepped into the clearing—
Elara knew something was off.
The trees were too quiet. The air felt thick. And the small, run-down hut sitting in the middle of the clearing?
Yeah, she didn’t trust it.
Jax, suspicious. "This place looks cursed."
Lucienne, grinning. "Awesome."
Sienna, still eating bread. "I’m not stepping in first."
Kael, rolling his eyes. "Cowards."
He knocked.
The door immediately opened.
And standing there was a very old woman.
She had glowing violet eyes, wild silver hair, and a smirk that said she already knew too much.
Old Woman, smiling. "Ah. Took you long enough."
Elara, blinking. "…Do we know you?"
The old woman chuckled. "Not yet. But you will."
Kael looked unamused. "Enough riddles. We need answers."
The old woman raised an eyebrow. "And what makes you think you’ll like them?"
Silence.
Jax, deadpan. "Oh, fantastic. Another cryptic NPC."
Elara, tired. "Look, just tell us what’s going on."
The old woman tilted her head.
Then she smiled.
"Alright. But first—"
She snapped her fingers.
And suddenly—
Everything went dark.
---
The ‘Oh No, We’re Unconscious’ Scene
Elara woke up to chaos.
Lucienne was screaming.
Jax was yelling.
Kael was shouting at the old woman.
And Sienna?
Sienna was still half-asleep.
Elara groaned. Her head felt heavy, like she had been hit by a dragon.
Lucienne, panicking. "WHY AM I TIED TO A CHAIR?!"
Jax, also panicking. "WHY AM I TIED TO YOU?!"
Kael, glaring at the old woman. "What did you do?"
Old Woman, sipping tea. "Relax. It’s just a precaution."
Elara, exhausted. "Precaution for what?"
The old woman smiled.
"To make sure you are who you say you are."
Elara did NOT like that answer.
---
The ‘Wait, What Do You Mean By That?’ Scene
Kael’s eyes narrowed. "And if we weren’t?"
The old woman shrugged. "Then I would’ve turned you all into frogs."
Silence.
Lucienne, horrified. "YOU CAN DO THAT?!"
Old Woman, smirking. "Of course."
Jax, betrayed. "And you didn’t?!"
Elara, tired. "Okay, enough. Just tell us what you know."
The old woman finally put down her tea.
Then she looked straight at Elara.
"You’re not supposed to be here."
Elara froze.
Old Woman, still looking at her. "And yet, here you are."
The room went silent.
Kael’s jaw clenched. "Explain."
The old woman sighed.
She stood up, dusting off her robes, and said:
"I think it’s time you learned the truth about your bloodline."
