“Andrei! Thank goodness!” It was as if a thorn had bitten Tony's throat. He immediately approached Andrei and pulled his arm.
“Yeah? What?"
"I'll show you something!"
Andrei's eyebrow didn't disappear until Tony pulled him in front of the computer.
"You know what? I don't understand you," Andrei said and shook his head. At the same time, Tony sat in his swivel chair and pressed something on the computer's keyboard.
Andrei thought again then suddenly his face lit up.
"Did you know anything about the deaths of the three?"
Tony just circled him. “I received an email from someone. There is only one video. I was hesitant to watch it but it was curious! I didn't expect the video to be like that. Here, watch it."
They both turned their gaze to the monitor. At first, the two were still relatively quiet although Tony's rapid breathing could be heard. Andrei's forehead furrowed and his eyes narrowed slightly, watching intently to find out what was strange.
The video was taken in a hallway at the hotel, there at the place where the deaths of the three occurred. The minutes run fast but nothing changes the feed. There on the side are written the words Camera 279. Perhaps that is the name or number assigned to that CCTV camera.
A few more moments passed and Andrei felt impatient. “Oh, what’s in this video? We've been watching but—CUNTMUFFIN!!” he cussed loudly as someone suddenly appeared in the hotel's hallway.
A pitch-black shadow passed by. It's not a human or a human shadow, they can't figure out what kind of creature it is. The only thing they knew was the fear it caused in their system.
It even went right down the hallway, as if death were to be fetched that night.
They both do not believe in any such phenomenon, so they are stunned when they see it with their own eyes.
It was as if their hair stood on end. They saw anything like that only once during their time as police officers. A few minutes passed and the shadow finally disappeared, yet their mouths remained gaping.
Suddenly, Andrei's serious expression returned immediately, "Have you verified the source of this video?" he asked.
"I did."
"What did you get?"
Tony sighed. “Nothing. Error. I can no longer track the sender's location. He is also smart, whoever this person is,” he said and grinned. "But what amazed me the most was the numbers that were posted here." He highlights the numbers sent in the email with the video.
Andrei looked at the picture without noticing anything strange. "What do you mean?" he said and turned to Tony.
"If you pay attention, it seems like there are no numbers but when you understand it better, it seems like someone wants to say 'the one who sent the email,'" Tony replied. It’s just a hunch, but everyone knows that his guts never lie.
Andrei pursued his lips. He knows how smart Tony is and there is a huge possibility that his assumption is right. “For now, we need to know what the numbers mean. We couldn’t just tell everyone about this since we might be wrong,” Andrei said. “Can you solve it then?”
Tony sat up straight and was depressed. He thought deeply about that question.
Silence prevailed over the two of them when their group leader suddenly arrived; Mike and his constant companion, Casya.
“How was the task I assigned to the both of you? Did you find anything strange?” Courtesy of Mike. The two confronted him at the same time.
Andrei folded his arms and stood up. "I followed the woman, but she suddenly disappeared like a bubble. I tried to go to the address you gave but she was not there either,” he said seriously. "But as I followed her, I noticed something strange..."
“What is it?”
“What is it?”
“What have you found?”
The three asked at the same time and looked at each other, which is why Mike gave them a stern look.
Andrei laughed softly and they glared at him. He just calmed down and continued talking. "She snatched a piece of paper from the black cloak she was wearing, but..."
"But what?" The three said in unison. Mike just nodded and shook the two.
"Just say it directly, you're being stupid, you still making some suspense effect," Tony exclaimed.
Andrei just laughed at what Tony said.
"Be serious, both of you. I'm not kidding here.” Andrei and Tony immediately fell silent and then became serious again.
Casya sighed in disbelief. She made her way towards her working table and took a seat. She massaged her forehead and closed her eyes. Her phone suddenly vibrated, frightening her. She grabbed it from her jacket’s pocket and read the message.
