Chapter 1 The First Glance

Andrea Torres, a senior high school student, woke up to the sound of her alarm clock. She quickly got ready for school, but not before sighing at her reflection in the mirror. Her face was covered in pimples and acne, and she felt self-conscious about her appearance.
Despite her insecurities, Andrea was determined to make the most of her senior year. She was smart and hardworking, and she had big dreams for the future.
On the first day of school, Andrea's English teacher introduced a new student named Javier Castillo. Javier was tall and handsome, with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. Andrea was immediately smitten.
However, Javier seemed to ignore Andrea completely. He never sat next to her in class, and he never talked to her. Andrea was disappointed and rejected, but she refused to let Javier's indifference define her.
Andrea knew that she was worthy of love and respect, regardless of her appearance. She decided to focus on her studies and on becoming the best version of herself.
One day, after English class, Andrea saw Javier standing at the end of the hallway. He was walking towards her. Andrea's heart skipped a beat. She hoped that he was finally going to talk to her.
But Javier walked past Andrea without saying a word. Andrea felt her heart sink. She was starting to think that Javier would never be interested in her.
Andrea went home feeling disappointed and confused. She didn't know what to do. She had a crush on Javier, but he didn't seem to care about her at all.
Andrea looked in the mirror at her reflection. Her skin was still red and inflamed, but she didn't care anymore. She was beautiful, inside and out. She didn't need Javier's approval to feel good about herself.
Andrea smiled. She was going to be okay.

Andrea's best friend, Sarah, saw how upset she was and asked her what was wrong. Andrea told Sarah about Javier and how he ignored her.
Sarah smiled and said, "Don't worry, Andrea. Javier is just a competitive person. He probably sees you as an opponent in class, not as a potential girlfriend."
Andrea was surprised. She had never thought about it that way.
"But what if he's right?" Andrea said. "What if I'm not good enough for him?"
"Of course you're good enough for him!" Sarah said. "You're smart, funny, and kind. Javier is just lucky to have you as a classmate."
Andrea took a deep breath. She knew that Sarah was right. She didn't need Javier's approval to feel good about herself. She was worthy of love and respect, regardless of what Javier thought.
Andrea smiled. She decided to focus on her studies and on becoming the best version of herself. She also started to get involved in more extracurricular activities, including sports.
One day, Andrea was playing basketball with her friends when she saw Javier watching from the sidelines. She smiled and waved at him. Javier kept a straight face and looked away.
Andrea knew that it would take time to win Javier's heart, but she was up for the challenge. She was Andrea Torres, and she was worthy of love and respect.

"Why are you following me?" Javier inquired, his curiosity piqued.
With a warm smile, she replied, "I simply have a genuine desire to connect with everyone and make friends."
Javier's words clumsily slipped out before he had a chance to reconsider. "Well, perhaps we can be friends once your pimples and acne disappear."
Andrea's heart sank when she heard Javier's words. She couldn't believe that he had been so rude and insensitive.
"What's wrong, Andrea?" Sarah asked, noticing the look on her face.
Andrea told Sarah what Javier had said. Sarah was furious.
"That jerk!" she exclaimed. "How dare he talk to you like that? He doesn't deserve you, Andrea."
Andrea took a deep breath. She knew that Sarah was right, but it still hurt to hear it.
"I'm just going to stay away from him," Andrea said. "He's not worth my time."
Andrea and Sarah continued to play basketball, but Andrea couldn't shake the feeling of Javier's words echoing in her head. She had always been self-conscious about her appearance, but Javier's words had made her feel even worse.
After the game, Andrea and Sarah were walking back to the classroom when they saw Javier and his friends again. Javier was laughing and joking with his friends, but when he saw Andrea, his smile faded.
Andrea took a deep breath and walked up to Javier.
"Hi, Javier," she said. "Can I talk to you for a minute?"
Javier looked at her with a bored expression on his face. "What do you want?" he asked.
"I just wanted to say that it's okay if you don't want to be friends with me," Andrea said. "I understand."
Javier laughed. "Of course I don't want to be friends with you," he said. "You're ugly."
Andrea's heart shattered. She couldn't believe that Javier had been so cruel.
"Fine," she said. "I guess we don't have anything to talk about then."
Andrea turned and walked away, her head held high. She didn't need Javier's approval to feel good about herself. She was worthy of love and respect, regardless of what he thought.
Andrea walked back to her classroom, her tears welling up in her eyes. She tried to hold them back, but it was no use. She ran into the bathroom and locked herself in a stall.
Andrea cried for a long time. She felt so humiliated and hurt. She couldn't believe that Javier had been so mean to her.
But eventually, Andrea's tears stopped. She wiped her eyes and looked at herself in the mirror. She was still beautiful, even with her pimples and acne.
Andrea smiled. She was going to be okay.
Andrea walked out of the bathroom and back to her classroom. She was determined to let Javier's words roll off her back. She wasn't going to let him ruin her day.
Andrea sat down at her desk and opened her textbook. She had a test tomorrow, and she needed to focus on her studies.
Andrea took a deep breath and started to read. She was going to prove to Javier that she was more than just her appearance.
While engrossed in her studies, Andrea felt a gentle buzz as her phone received a new message. Curiosity piqued, she checked the notification and read the message:
"I heard what happened earlier. I am sorry."
Confused yet intrigued, Andrea couldn't help but wonder who this person was. With a mix of caution and curiosity, she mustered the courage to reply, asking for the sender's name.
To her surprise, the response came swiftly. "Reiv is my name," the message read.
