"What are you doing there?" I saw Nate casually standing outside Patrick's room. I was about to open the door when he gently pulled me. "What's up with you?"
He took the fruits and lunch boxes I brought for the three of us, "Someone is with him."
"Sila Ate Jane? I know," he took my hand from the door knob and took me three rooms away from them. "Do you feel bad? What is it? What hhappened?"
He sighed, "She's here."
I felt three emotions from what he said. I am happy that she visited him, but I am worried as well. "Nakausap mo ba siya before siya dumating?"
He nodded his head smiling, "We wait here for awhile. Is that okay with you? Or are we going to barge in and save him from further pain?"
Saglit akong napa tigil... but, if I were in his position Patrick would not want me to regret.
They would need to sort and talk it out... yung sila lang at walang ibang makikialam o mag bibigay ng opinyon.
I shrug my head and went in the nurse station with Nate. Para naman hindi kami mukhang ewan na nag hihintay sa labas nang pinto.
I shared the fruits I bought for Patrick. Since the nurses here are close with me, hindi na ako mag dadamot pa. Hindi rin naman mauubos ni Patrick ang mga 'to lalo na he will be discharge tomorrow.
Nate and I saw Trina coming out of his room, pero I did not let her see me.
Nakakatawa man pero I don't exactly know what would I tell her after seeing each other again... it's almost what now? Two years?
Nate looks at me and I rolled my eyes making him laugh.
I know I have been close wit her but it's all because of Patrick... and nothing more.
We went inside his room acting like I did not know she was here a minute ago, "When is the wedding?" tanong niya bigla na ikinagulat 'ko. Hindi pa nga siya nakakalabas sa hospital.
Nate stand up beside me while I am peeling the apple for myself, "Three months from now."
"How's the preparation coming?" I rolled my eyes making Nate and Patrick laugh.
"Well, Tita My is helping me and Nate is paying for everything." I gave Nate a small cut of apple while Patrick declined my offer. "You should be fine by then. Ikaw pa rin ang best man ni Nate."
"Isang linggo lang tayong hindi nag kita hindi na ako ang best man mo?" boses pa lang ay naiirita na ako. Oo, si Thomas James. Tumanda lang pero ako pa rin ang inaasar.
I couldn't help but laugh wen I saw Nate rolled his eyes, "You are the most dramatic man I have ever met, Thomas James."
Tj pouts as Peach playfully hugged her husband.
Dati pa man ay clingy na sa bestfriend yang si Tj... and I am always tankful of him for not leaving Nate alone.
Nag beso sa akin si Peach at iniabot ang bulaklak na dala dala niya and pulled me in the corner, "We saw Trina." I nodded my head. "Nag kausap kayo?"
Naka taas na kilay na umiling ako sakaniya, "There is nothing we should talk about, right? I mean, it's not like we haven't talked before she left."
Peach looks at me with tat weird look, "You were worried about her." pag papaalala niya sa akin. Mabilis akong tumango sakaniya. "Sis, you are weird."
"Peach, she looks fine naman."
"So?"
"Anong so? I just don't think we need to talk, Peach." she looks convinced and she smiled and hugged me.
I have to let Cara as my maid of honor since ka buwanan ni Peach ang kasal namin ni Nate. Ayoko naman na kung kailan nandyan na ay tsaka mag papalit.
Maya maya lamang ay dumating na rin si Cherry kasama ang asawa niya. Wala pa silang balak mag anak, at susulitin daw muna nila na sila munang dalawa.
Well, practical speaking ang pag aanak ay hindi minamadali. Pero kung mabubuntis man daw siya ay okay lang din naman sakaniya. Since both of them has already settled.
"I need you to come with me, Nate. We have to taste the food for the wedding." he nodded is head and e showed me his schedule. I kind of feel bad. He only has five hours to rest pero I am taking his time.
He has always been keen to every food I am eating. Everyday! Wen I say everyday, kahit ang pag kain sa cafeterria ay talagang chinecheck niya.
My sift ended fifteen minutes ago kaya I can casually sit with them while Nate as to get back with his rounds.
Nahihirapan akong buksan yung bottled water when Nate took it from me while talking with his friends. Maliit akong napa ngiti. He is always that attentive when it comes to me.
Maya maya lamang ay dumating na rin ang pamilya ni Patrick, so Peach and the others decided to eat out first and come back later. Hindi naman kasi kami nasa reception para pag kumpulan si Patrick.
He is for discharge tomorrow, so they doesn't need to come back again. Pero they are all clingy, kaya I am sure they will be back so I joined them.
Sinamahan 'ko si Peach sa banyo dahil pakiramdam daw niya ay puputok na ang pantog nita, talaga tong si buntis walang ibang ginawa kung hindi ang umihi ng umihi!
I took my phone out while waiting for her outside the cubicle, "I hope the preparations for your wedding is going well."
"It is naman, kaya lang both of us are busy kaya lahat nang trabaho ay naiiwan kay Tita My. I feel bad for her kaya lang I have my job with me."
Peach sighed a little making me laugh from the outside, "Wala pa yan. Lalo na kapag nag anak kayo, mas mahihirapan ka."
I know, at isa yung sa ga kinatatakutan 'ko. Baka mapabayaan ko yung magiging anak namin sa rami nang resposibilidad namin sa buhay.
"Fate?" naka nggiting lumingon ako sa tumawag sa akin but right there and then I frozed. "It is really you."
I did not utter a single word nor took a step closer to her... bumalik lang ako sa ulirat when Peach knocked. "Hello, bestie? Kanina pa ako nag sasalita, why aren't you answering me? Are you still there?"
"Is that Peach?" she said happily. I nodded my head and she knocked back on her cubicle. Kaya bahagya akong umusog, "I missed you, Peach."
"Who even are you?" masungit na sagot ni Peach sakaniya, na ikinatawa lamang nito. "Well anyway, I am coming out."
Bot of us took a step backward giving Peach some space.
Nanlaki ang mata niya nang makita kung sino ang nasa harapan naming dalawa. She's speechless as well.
Ewan 'ko ba, we were friends pero bakit nung nag kita ulit kami after many years parang kahapon lang kami nag kakila kilala.
Tinabihan ako ni Peach habang minamasahe ang malaki niyang tyan. Iikot ikot pa ang mga mata nito na kala mo'y kaaway ang babaeng nasa harapan namin nggayon.
Naka ngiting napa tingin sa tyan ni Peach, "Oh my God?" she said happily. I smiled a little when looks at me. "I'm surprised! I thought Fate will be the first to have her own family."
"We all thought it's you," she smiled at us and blushed. So, is it safe to assume that they are working with their relationship again?
She helped me assist Peach out of the comfort room, "I have a lot of catching up to do now that I am back."
So, they already talked about it. "You ghosted him." I said not even blinking making Peach giggled. "You did not even sent him a single hi." Peach looked at me smiling.
"I know... I mean, I can't just apologize to him after everything so I decided to give him space and time to breathe." hindi 'ko siya tinapunan ng tingin kahit na saglit lamang. I have to stay firm that I am here as Patrick's friend and not hers.
"I should be thankful because you have thought his feelings then?" Peach slightly poked me in the side. Kunwari pa eh tuwang tuwa naman siya sa mga naririnig niya.
Trina let out a soft laugh, "You changed." She said smiling at me. I don't know whether she sees that as my advantage. "But I am happy that you did."
I have treated her as a friend, and no why's or but's. Hindi na ako nakipag talo sakaniya, I feel exhausted with just tat little conversation we have.
Peach keep peeking on me, making sure that I am okay after that confrontation when I clearly said to her that I have noting to tell her about.
Nate joined us for a meal, pero nag mamadali rin siya sa pag kain at hindi gaanong kumain dahil he can't afford to lose anymore minute. Natutunawan pa ba ang isang yun?
I feel bad and sad about it, pero he feels relieved and happy saving people from their illness.
"Trina told me," I rolled my eyes looking at him which made him laugh. "Daig mo pa si Mommy."
"Gusto mo palitan ko na si Tita?" I said sarcastically, na ikinatawa naman ni Tita mula sa gilid na nag aayos nang mga gamit niya. "What are you feeling now that you are being discharge?"
He sat in his bed when Tita stand beside me, "Tell him, Fate. Hindi dapat parati na hinahayaan si Trtina." mayabang ko siyang tiningnan na ikinatawa naman niya.
"Right, Tita? Masyadong mabait yang anak niyo. Ang sarap pong kurut kurutin sa tagiliran."
"Para namang indi ka ganyan kay Nate before."
"Excuse me, Pat. But I have always been clear with my intentions with her," pag singit naman na kararating lang na si Nate na nakapamulsa pa.
He's dressed, "Correct!" sabi ko making special effects which made Tita and Patrick laugh.
"Aren't we leaving?" he said hugging me. Napa tingin ako sakaniya and he raises his eyebrow at me. "Wife."
I forgot about the food tasting I reminded him about!
Nag madali akong nag paalam kila Patrick at kinuha ang mga gamit ko mula sa locker. Kaya pala I have been thinking about something I thought I forgot.
Nate and I decided not to bring his car para kahit papaano ay maka tulog siya sa byahe. So he could rest his eyes and hands.
Gusto sanang sumama ni Tita My pero Nate said that he would accompany me for today. I know that he is trying his best to help me with the preparations, this is why he said na he will start his residency after our wedding.
Ako rin naman ang nag approve that he should start now, pero ganito pala talaga ka busy ang mga nag reresidency. Halos hindi na nag uuwian.
We didn't get much too detail when we arrived in the place. We enjoyed the view and the food, Nate is smiling but he is really tired and exhausted.
The next stopped we did, was his suit and my wedding gown. I have never been this nervous and excited with the wedding until now.
"You can take your time," he said as I was searching for my gown. Nate sat on the couch waiting for his suit in his size.
I nodded my head walking around the boutique when a lady assisted me, "May specific request po ba tayo in regards sa design?"
Mabilis akong umiling and touched every gown there is. "Can I see more?" I asked politely which the lady smiled and gladly obliged with a smile. "Thank you, Miss."
She gave me five dresses to choose from and I tried everything... the last three dresses nararamdaman ko na yung ngalay kakapalit ng damit.
When I looked at my reflection in the mirror, my heart suddenly went erratic. I have never felt so surreal until now that I am trying it.
I smiled at her, and she smiled back. She must have get that I like this gown among of all the gowns I have tried.
I went out to check on Nate with the gown but he is already sleeping in the couch wearing the suit he chose.
Tinabihan ko siya and held his hand as I lean my head on his shoulder. "I am getting married with you," humigpit ang pag kakahawak niya sa kamay ko, and I heard him chuckle a little. "I am marrying my love."
"Yes, and I am going to marry the most beautiful, and kindest woman in the world." he said with his eyes still closed.
Isiniksik ko pa ang ulo ko mula sa leeg niya na ikinatawa naman niya. He opened his eyes and wrap his arms around my waist. "Ayan tayo eh, alam na alam mo kung paano ako kukunin eh."
He chuckled a lot more as he snuggled in my neck, "You look so beautiful no matter what you are wearing."
Naramdaman ko ang pag bigat ng ulo niya mula sa leeg ko, indicating that he finally let sleep take him over.
Dahan dahan akong tumayo at inalalayan siya sa pag higa.
