Chapter 20---The ball

Uriel/Steffany's POV.
I am really confused. Why am I here? I am sitting on a car's passenger seat. Then I turn to my left...he's there. He's really there, driving while his eyes are fixed on the road. What's happening? To my greater surprise--he glance and smile at me...Frye.
I can't utter a word even though how hard I tried. Then it happened again, the fast approaching truck is right over there. Next thing, Frye hug me tight to protect me. The impact of the sudden car crashed was their but I felt nothing, as if my body is torpored.
I tried to open my eyes-just to see Frye's bloody face. No, no, no...NO! I wanted to shout it out loud but I can't. Napatingin ako sa unahan and I saw someone in there. I want to run towards her the moment she turned her back on us...help us, please! I silently prayed, pero 'di na talaga s'ya bumalik.
Just in time na pipikit na 'ko, someone reach a hand for me. His face is blur and the next thing I know...he's lifting me. Then everything turned black...

''AAAHHH...ah-huh-ah-huh-ah-huh..'' Anu 'yun?
I was breathing heavily when the door swung open forcefully.
''Hey, what happened? Are you hurt? You need something? Cloud call the doctor-oh, water. You want water?''
''I'm okay Cal, no need to panic...argh.'' I was lying prone on the bed that's why I tried to get up, pero kumirot sugat ko.
''Is that your so called OKAY?!'' Asik ni Calex sa'kin at tinulungan akong bumangon.
''What happened to that? Ang dungis mo.'' Paano ba naman may mantsa ang damit n'ya sa bandang dibdib n'ya.
''This? I got this from my about-to-drink-HOT-coffee but, YOU screem and to my surprised it SPILLED.'' At nakikita ko nga na namumula sa may bandang leeg n'ya. I felt bad tuloy, dahil tinawanan ko s'ya.
''I'm sorry..'' Pagkatapos ko sabihin dumating si Cloud at ang doctor.
They did a few test para makasiguro that I'm okay, then after umalis rin naman agad.
''What happened after that incident? Ilang araw ba akong natulog?'' I asked them, nandito na rin silang lahat.
''More than 3 days.'' Si Max ang sumagot.
Three days? It didn't bother me. What bothers me the most is my dream. Who are those people?

Fritz Calex's POV.
My mind is now at peace seeing her fine. It scared the sh!t out of me the moment she became unconscious.
Flashback...
"Sh!t, let's bring her to the hospital." I said while lifting Uriel.
"Drive fast, Kiefer!" I said after closing the door on the driver's seat.
He's the one driving, while me and Uriel is on the backseat. God, I'm really scared right now.
They're killers...I been surrounded by killers-even her. I never see her kill one but, I know she is also one of them.
Why do they have to kill people?
Why does she need to hide it from me?
Why does they act as if nothing happened?
I'm not mad, I'm just confused to all of these. It feels like I'm a cat that accidentally entered the lions cage...confuse why am I too funy compair to them.
"Kuya nandito na tayo." Kiefer's voice bring me back to my senses.
I immediately carried Uriel and lay her on the stretcher. I followed the doctors and nurses that's rushing her towards the emergency room. I was breathing heavily as my heart beats fast.
"Sir, you're not allowed to go inside...I'm sorry." The nurse stopped me.
"Kuya, hintay nalang tayo dito." It's Kiefer who spoke.
I look at her blood on my hands and body. The confusion that's roaming inside me suddenly vanished the moment I saw her in that state. She's too fragile and I want to protect her-even though she's more capable of protecting herself and mine as well.
This is all my fault. She can't fight back 'cause she's busy dragging me away from those thugs that's chasing us. Now I realize they've deserve to die.
"Huwag mong isipin na may kasalanan ka sa nanyari, dahil wala. This is what we are, danger is always with us. Don't worry she'll be fine. She's been through worst than that." I look up to see Raven Sarttori's serious face.
They're here together with their men-securing the hospital.
"Hindi mamamatay 'yan, masamang damo 'yan eh! Proven and tested na 'yan." Cloud said and gain glares from me and Kuya Raven.
The emergency room's door suddenly swung open. I forthwith run towards the physician.
"How was she?" I instantly asked.
"The patient's condition is now stable. We successfully removed the bullet on her left shoulder, the other one was just a grazed. She just fainted due to blood loss, let's just wait for her to wake up. Nothing to worry about. You can visit her the moment she'll be transfer to her private room." I just nod.
"Okay, thank you doc." It's Kuya Raven.
Alleviation is all over me now, thank GOD she's okay.
Like she said, they're already like that when I arrived, it's either accept it or leave it and I'm accepting it-'cause I can't bear to lose her.

''So, let's just see each other on the ball this sunday?'' Uriel asked me.
''You really sure your fine now?'' I asked again, just to make sure she's okay.
She's really a pig-headed wowan, she insist to go home 'cause she's not comfortable here-what can I do?
''Yeah, parang mas magiging malala ang kondisyon ko dito.''
''Fine!''

__RST-Sarttori Hotel__
''Wow ang gara naman dito.'' Issa said amusingly the moment she's out of my car-she's my date to this ball.
''Let's go..'' Then I offered my right arm for her to cling on.
''Aba, aba, gumaganyan ka. Gentle dog lang ang peg mo sa'kin ngayon. NGAYON lang!'' She complained and I just glared at her.
''Pareho talaga kayo ni Uriel, ang sama n'yo sa'kin...hmmp.''
''Atleast, I'm trying to be your so called gentle-dog...tss." I said lazily. "Are we going to that ball or not?!'' I asked her annoyed.
''Ito na nga oh, kakapit na...gora nah!'' Tsk, what a mouth. Maybe I'll gone crazy if Uriel will be like Issa-good thing she's not!
The usherette lead us to the hall where the 3rd years christmas ball held. I need to call Uriel but I can't find my phone, maybe I forgot it on my car.
''Uhm, Issa. I forgot my phone. I'll just get it, you go inside first.'' She just nod and then I made my way back to my car.
''There it is..'' I said then grab my phone.
I locked the car and was about to make my way back to the hotel when I hear someone calling me.
''Fritz..'' As soon as I heard it, my forehead creased.
Even though years had passed, I still remember the way she called my name...and I hate it!
''F-fritz..p-pwede..umm..c-can we talk, even just for a while?'' She said faltering.
''We have nothing to talk about. So don't try to ruin my life, even though you ruined it before. I will not allow you to ruin it again...NOT NOW!'' I exclaimed it coldly without looking at her.
Why you came back?
No matter what, I will not allow you to make my life tousle.
''Kahit saglit lang?'' She asked.
''NO! NEVER will be! I don't waste my time talking trash conversation so, if you'll excuse me-my girlfriend needs me!''
''W-wait..saglit lang talaga, h-hindi naman ako manggugulo. I just need to talk to you, thats all. Please Fritz, for old times sake.'' She said pleading while crying.
''For old times sake, huh? FOR FVCKING OLD TIMES SAKE! That's it...for all times sake-YOU leave ME! Now you're asking me to talk to you? YOU leave me hanging. YOU-argh...just go back to where you are. I don't want to ruin this night because my girlfriend is here. She's more important to me that talking to you!'' Then I turn my back, leaving her crying.
I know that was hard but, she deserved that. The woman who hurt and leave me four years ago-Blythe Reinee Del Rio.
