Iris’ POV
I walked with him nervously. I clench my hand real hard. I can even feel my own fingers digging into my palm. I can still remember how he looked at me in my past life. He's looking at me with deep hatred. He looked at me like he's ready to kill me.
I can still feel the slap I received from him.
It hurts so much....
"saan mo gustong kumain?"
I looked at him and throw other thoughts away.
"Are you okay?" he asks worriedly.
"Oo naman. Sa cafeteria nalang tayo para mas malapit. Ano nga palang gusto mong sabihin?"
"mamaya na pagkatapos kumain"
Tumango ako at ngumiti. He looked at me weirdly. Pero wala akong pakialam. Ang importante, masaya akong kasama sya. I want to be his friend again. My love for him is not the same anymore. Mas napatunayan ko ito ngayon. 
I grinned widely and put my hands behind my back. I even ignored their stares.
"hahaha" i can't my laugh when I saw Lacey’s priceless face. Parang syang nakainom ng suka dahil bigla itong namutla, pero agad din namang namula na para bang nakakain ng sili.
She looks hilarious!
"You seem so happy. Did something happen?” he asked after pulling a chair making me sit.
“Nothing” I smiled at him.
"What do you like? Mine is Beef Bourguignon."
"uhh French? We have French cuisine here?" i asked in confusion.
He looked at me like asking if I’m serious.
"Did you forget? You're eating with an Elite class member"
Err. I forgot. They have their own chef here! Ang unfair talaga. Kahit na mayaman kami, hindi ko afford magkaroon ng personal chef sa school. All of them are Michelin stars chef, for God's sake!

“Thank you for reminding me. Susulitin ko na to ha? I'll have Le Meurice Alain du Casse, Guy Savoy and Masa!" i said breathlessly. I know my eyes are shining like a greedy wolf.
I'm so hungry!
He looked at me like i have three heads. His jaw dropped and his eyes are wide.
"You! Are you ripping me off?! "
I stifled a laugh and look at him innocently.
"Why? Is it expensive for you?"
"never mind. I can still afford it" he answered pridefully
I almost rolled my eyes.
Yes, He's rich.
Pero hindi pa ngayon. He's still studying kaya may limit pa rin ang finances nya. And elites’ family structures are different.
Every Elite family has different branches. Yes, Rexel’s grandmother is rich, but she's only a family branch. Her wealth can't be compared to the Main House.
Kaya naman nilamon sya ng kasakiman. That old woman refuses to bow down to her brother's family. She did everything to make her businesses more successful than them. That's when I, the stupid me, comes in.
She used me!
Until now, my hatred for her is unwavering. I will make sure to destroy her!
"Iris. You're spacing out again" 
I sighed and calmed my head. This is not good.
"Sorry. Did you say something?"
"Yes. I said are you okay about the exchange policy issue? Would you like me to talk to the chairman about it? "
"don’t. I'm okay with it "
"Are you sure??” He asked in disbelief
"Yes. And i think i will like it there"
Meeting those people will greatly help me in the future.
"You seem so excited... Do you know what you're getting into?"
"I’m sure. Wait, are you worried for me?? “ i laugh and teased him. 
"No!” he denied quickly making me laugh more...i know him. The more flustered he is, the more i can say that he is lying.
The food was served personally by the two chefs. Their eyes are looking at Iris, full of surprise and curiosity.
"la nourriture est servie monsieur et madame!"
Rexel nodded before looking at Iris. He was surprised to see the shine in her eyes.  She looks like a child looking brightly at the served food.
"Thank you. I hope I didn't make it hard for you to do this"
"No, Madame. It's a pleasure to make these masterpieces again after a long time"
"I understand. It must be hard for you to waste your talent by working privately for these brats. How about work for me. I can only pay half but i can guarantee that you won't waste your skills. I'm a foodie! " 
The chef laugh loudly. Amusement is written in his eyes.
"I'm sorry Madame. I have a contract to finish. But I’ll remember you when it ends. Let's see what will happened in the future"
Iris giggled and stared at the other chef. Her eyes widen and sparkle.
"Hello Chef. You we're featured by New York’s Magazine. It's a pleasure tasting your cuisine!"
"Oh! Yes, thank you" He was surprise when i talk to him , but slightly bowed afterwards.
"My offer extends to you as well. Work for me when your contracts end"
He smiled and looked at Rexel
"I will remember your offer Miss"
"My name is Iris. Here's my card."
They both accepted my cards and smile.
"Sir, we're going back "
Rexel didn't reply but nodded in daze.
"You. Did you just spoke French and Japanese???!!" after a while he exclaimed.
Cough. Cough
"Why do you have to yell? See what happened?" she said while still coughing.
"Sorry. nagulat lang ako"
Rex looked at me full of curiosity.
"You just spoke French and Japanese fluently. Did you study them? Or did you live there before?" He asked in shock.
I rolled my eyes. " oh... We have language class remember?"  I answered absentmindedly. I know that my accent can’t be learned in school. Bu how can I tell him? Can I tell him that I had to fly to different countries and learn language and cultures in my past life?
"Oh. As far as i know, hindi mo pinapasukan ang mga classes mo"
I stopped eating and glared at him.
He looked at me with surprise.
"bakit ang dami mong tanong. Kumain kana lang kaya" I reprimanded him. I’m so hungry that I can eat a cow.
"Ano nga pala ang sasabihin mo?" I asked while smiling at him. Although I know what he will say, I still want to ask baka makalimutan pa nya.
He looked dazed for a while before looking away.
"Iris. I just want to tell you that i value you as a friend. I'm sorry kung ilang beses kitang nasaktan. I avoided you like plague. You don't deserve it... I'm sorry if i can't return your feelings. You deserve someone better. Someone that can stand for himself. Not a coward like me"
He closed his eyes tightly waiting for my response.
"It's okay" I whispered softly. He opened his eyes and looked at me with confusion and surprise.
“What d-did you say?” hindi makapaniwalang tanong nito.
“I’m just waiting for you to say that, Rex. What took you so long to tell me that? Kung sana pinaintindi mo sa akin ng maaga, sana hindi na tayo umabot pa sa ganito” I spoke softly and helplessness.
Rex was too shocked to speak. I saw confusion, disbelief, guilt, and many emotions in his eyes. “Let’s start over again Rex. Let’s be friends again, okay?”
He dazedly nodded making me smile,
"Thank you, Rex. From now on, you are free. I'm sorry, it took so long" I said in relief,
Ten years. It took ten years to finally understand.
"You are finally going to l-let go?"
"Yes" I answered shortly
"Why? What made you change?" He asked
I looked away.
"Answer my question" He asked again. I suddenly felt confused. Why does he need to know? He should be happy.
I sighed and looked at his blue eyes.
"That day, i waited for you. Pero hindi ka dumating. Nag antay ako hangang sa gumabi at abutan na ako ng ulan. I almost died waiting for you. But I don’t blame you. Everything is my fault" I said while giving him a sad smile.
"W-What are you talking you talking--"
Hindi ko na sya pinatapos at tinanong ito. "Do you believe in second life Rexel?"
He looked at full of questions. He did not answer.
"I do believe in second life. I was given a second chance in life. I realized that my world should not exist for one person only. It should not exist for you. I have my parents, Kimi and my friends. There are billions of people in the world, and I will meet interesting people in the future. I should be lucky to be alive, right?"
He was stunned for a few seconds and answered “yes”
I grinned and looked at him playfully. I stood up and offered my hand for a handshake "I still want to be part of your life, Rex. The moment you saved me, you already occupied a space in my heart. This time, let’s be best of friends again”
I notice that he’s looking at me blankly. His brows are frowning like he’s thinking about a complicated mathematical problem. “Rex?” tawag ko dito
He blinked and gave me a smile. “Okay…” He answered and reached my hand.
"You will be my best guy friend from now on!" I said and gave him a warm bright smile.
(Rex, never knew that reaching her hand will be the biggest mistake of his life...)
