STRANGE FEELING

After the teacher left, all of us went quiet because no one bothered to talk here. I got my chips from my bag and opened it. I really didn't care if I made any noise because they're used to it. While eating, I read my notes for the next subject when I felt someone looking at me. The feeling of this was really intense. It was more intense than before when I was eating chips. I tried to look behind me and caught four eyes looking at me. I didn't know which one of them was looking so intensely, and instead of meeting their gaze, I averted my eyes and pretended nothing was going on. The creepy feeling disappeared when our next English professor came in. As he looked at us, we stood up for the greetings.
"A pleasant morning to you, sir," all of us said and then sat down. Our professor didn't say a word and just opened his book to write our topic for today. I grabbed my pen and wrote what was on the board. As usual, all of us just copied what was on the board. Our English professor was kind of weird because of his personality. Based on my experience, he didn't like to talk in class and just wrote his whole topic on the board. Our principal once said to us that our English professor didn't want to talk, and our principal wanted us to write what was on the board and study it. Because if you didn't study the day you copied what was on the board, then definitely, you'd receive a really bad grade on the recitation the next day. The English professor didn't care if we had the same answer because we just copied what was on the board. But if he knew that we really cheated and copied the answer from our classmates, then he'd give us a bad grade, whether we wrote it or not. He simply wanted us to learn his topic through our own initiative and how we could overcome this kind of method that he applied to us. Even though the principal was against his method, the principal didn't want to let him go because of his high skill in English. Maybe our class was just treated like this, and the rest is normal treatment.
A few minutes later, he stopped writing on the board and closed his book. He closed his whiteboard marker pen and sat down in the chair. In any minute, I'd be done writing by now, and as expected, 5 seconds after he sat down, he stood up and left the classroom. Everybody was used to it, but I didn't know if Z would cope with what was going on. I guess I'll just explain it to her later. I looked behind me to see her when suddenly, a group of crows flew by, making an annoying noise. I looked out the window and saw the crows flying away from the building. I wondered about the creepy feeling I had felt earlier when I entered the building. I continued writing because I hadn't finished yet, and just one more sentence and I'd be done.
The school bell suddenly rang, meaning it was lunchtime. As I stood up, I saw a crow making noise with its beak, as if it was going to break the window glass. Then suddenly, it did. I immediately ran to it and drove away the crow. When it flew away, it made a really annoying sound that hurt my eardrums.
"What was that?" I mumbled. Everyone was leaving the room to go to the canteen, and some of us were still in the classroom. I was preparing to leave when I saw Z laying her head on her table chair. I brought my bag and went to her.
"Hey, aren't you starving?" I asked after I touched her.
"H-ha? U-uhmm, yes, I am," she said.
"What are you waiting for? Let's go to the canteen now. You don't want to miss their specialty today," I said, and then she stood up.
"Yes," she answered. We left the classroom, and the intense feeling came back. It kind of bothered me if it was Z or not, but now she was walking silently and looking ahead. I pushed away my thoughts and just walked properly. When we arrived at the canteen, everyone was eating and sitting at their respective tables, and none of them were forming a line at the counter. We quietly went to the counter and bought our food. I bought the food for Z because she was a newbie and didn't know what was delicious to be served.
"Eat now. Just don't bother to look at them because everyone really used to this kind of situation," I said when we sat at a vacant table.
"Oum," she answered shortly. The intense and creepy feeling disappeared when we entered the canteen. Maybe it was driven away by the number of people here.
"Can I ask you something?" I asked hesitantly because I didn't want her to hate me.
"H-ha? Y-yes.. sure," she answered.
"I know you're shy, and I knew it from the start, but why did you enter this type of school? I mean, you know there are a lot of schools that will polish your knowledge and hone it to the next level," I asked and explained what I meant.
"A-ah yes, I'm really shy. A-and I entered this school because someone recommended me this school. Also, I wanted to experience a school where everyone
doesn't compete and fight," she answered and explained.
"Oww. You know that you're really good at explanations, and I might think that it'll be perfect if you overcome your nervousness and talk straight," I said and continued eating my food.
"Y-yes.. thank you," she said, sounding thankful.
"No worries," I replied. I roved my eyes to look at my housemates, and I saw six of them, but they didn't see us.
"You know that all of us in the house are in the same school, right?" I asked her to confirm if she knew about it.
"Y-yes," she answered.
"Can you see one of them?" I asked.
"Oum.. I s-saw twelve of them," she answered.
"Whow! Really? I can see six of them, and you see twelve? Uhh, maybe I'm just blind to not look at them seriously," I exclaimed. After a couple of minutes, some of the people left the canteen room. They had just finished eating and didn't bother to rest for a minute.
"They're so eager to learn in their whole life," I said while I hadn't finished eating my dessert, which was my burger.
"A-ah, Christy.. can you eat this?" Z suddenly offered her food.
"Why? It's so good," I said.
"Y-yeah, but.. I'm already full," she said.
"Really? Thank you," I said and got the burger.
"By the way, sorry for not asking if you like burgers or not," I said.
"N-no worries," she said. In just a few minutes, I finished eating, including the food that Z gave me. I finished my juice before resting for a while, and just a few minutes later, I stood up. Z also stood up because there were only five of us left in the canteen with me.
"Hey, chubs," somebody called me.
"What? Chubs?" I asked when I looked back and saw a charming man at the counter.
"Can you eat this for me? It's just that I'm full," he offered his burger. I was really happy because I felt that I was still hungry. I went to him and got the burger.
"Thank you," I said and then left.
"Y-you really love b-burgers.. right?" Z suddenly asked.
"Oum," I said while eating the burger because food is prohibited in the classroom when there's a teacher teaching the students. When we arrived at the classroom, everybody was really quiet, and the teacher hadn't come yet. I went to my seat and just sat there quietly. After a few minutes, the math teacher came in and just taught us the basics of math. Also, we didn't need greetings with her. She was really cheerful when teaching but was awfully strict when giving grades. You really just wanted to prove to her that you strived for your grades.
