Trisha
Chris and I went out from the room after he put his belongings inside. We stood side by side while Chris is locking the room.
"Where are you two going?" We looked back from the door after going inside and saw Ella with Aiden, smiling from ear to ear. Probably teasing me why I'm with Chris.
"Hey Carmela!" Chris was the one that greeted her first.
"Ella! Hi!" I greeted too enthusiastically.
She looked at me while raising an eyebrow. Never hiding her amusement. I don't know what she's thinking specifically but I know it's full of malice.
"Where are you two going?" Aiden asked this time.
"Out, we're going out." I responded and looked at Chris smiling partly begging not to say something that might cause others to think of something that is totally not the case. They saw us leaving Chris' room together. Maybe they're thinking of something. Chris looked at me with a confused look.
"Hmmm, instead of asking where you two are going, I should ask where did you the two of you came from?" Ella's smile widened more than ever. Then she looked at the door behind me and Chris.
"Oh, we were working on our experiment together and decided to have dinner together so I just dropped off my stuff before going out." Chris explained.
Phew, maybe I'm just the one overthinking things and being overdramatic.
"Is there anyone else inside the room?" This time Aiden asked innocently but I know he's also teasing us.
Ella laughed beside him. "Nice one Aiden!" And then they high five.
"Nope, no one was in there but us." Chris just answered truthfully but the two are now giving us weird looks.
"It's not what you guys think. Gosh! You guys are full of malice." I added hurriedly in case they would tease us further.
"Okay, okay fine. We'll stop teasing you guys." Ella said while walking forward still smirking and gave Chris a high five.
"You take care of my friend, alright?" Ella pointed at his face. "You hear me?"
I took Ella's hand which was pointing at Chris. "It's rude to point at other people Ella." I reminded her.
"Oh right, sorry. I was just happy to see my friend with a guy." Ella said while still teasing the two of us. She then elbowed Chris lightly while Chris just smiled shyly.
"It's not what you think. We were just making our laboratory report. Since we are partners. Tell them Chris. Tell them there's nothing going on between us." I asked for Chris' support on this one.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. We are just lab partners, that's all." Thankfully Chris came to my aide. Not thinking of riding on the joke.
"So where are you going to eat?" This time Aiden asked us curiously. "Are you two gonna go on a date?" He then smiled again.
I looked at Ella and Aiden and got an idea.
"I think I should be asking the two of you that." I am now smirking at them. "Where did the two of you come from? You were not inside our room earlier, Ella. So where were you?"
"Oh, we were inside Aiden's room, Jesrael was away." Ella just answered casually like it's not a big deal.
"Oh... okay?" I answered.
"Trish, we are dating." Ella added.
"What!!??" I almost shouted at the top of my lungs.
"You're dating a guy? I though you said, I though you don't look at guys that way?" I was so confused. When and how did this happen? I know I should be happy for her but I felt betrayed, she didn't even tell me about her and Aiden.
Ella just smiled at me apologetically. " I'm sorry I didn't got the chance to tell you. You were always so busy with university work."
I looked at Aiden seriously. "When was this?"
"Actually, I've been courting Carmela since 2nd year, I thought you knew about that?" Aiden answered me.
"Yes, I knew about that, but I thought you stopped and now you're just friends?"
"Well...." Aiden started.
I held my hand up. Motioning him so stop. I thought for a moment. I looked at Ella and Aiden. I can see that they're happy. Well as long as Ella is happy I am happy. I should not be bummed about her not telling me. It's also true that we've been busy lately although we are living together. I sighed.
"Okay, as long as Ella is happy, I am happy." I told them.
"Yey!" Ella jumped up and down then hugged me. "Thank you for understanding." She said. Am I the only one that's bound to be living alone forever? I thought sadly.
"But you still owe me an explanation. You owe me everything that has happened." I told Ella. As she pulled away from the hug.
She smiled. "And you still owe me where you were when you were gone for a day." She winked at me teasingly. I still did not tell her the whole detail about my drive out with Fernandez. Only that I went out with "someone".
"Is that the one where you went out with Art?" Chris butted in, smiling as if teasing me.
Ella's could not hide her shock face. "Whaaaat? So it was- you were- so that someone was Fernandez?" Ella hit me lightly. "Why didn't you tell me???"
I looked at Chris with a sad expression, partly blaming him and mouthed "Why?" Now Ella will not stop asking me what happened between me and Fernandez.
"Sorry." Chris looked at me apologetically. "I shouldn't have butted in."
He looked like a kid that was being scolded. I felt guilty for blaming him. He was just trying to fit into the conversation. "No, it's okay" I smiled at him with assurance.
"Of course it's okay! Thank you, dear Chris for mentioning that, since my friend here does not want to tell me anything!" Ella is now excited. Then she pulled me.
"Well, what are you waiting for? C'mon! Let's go." Ella pulled me towards the elevator, while Chris and Aiden followed.
"Where are we going Smith?" Aiden asked Ella.
"He still calls you Smith?" I asked Ella.
"We're going to eat. Let's say a double date perhaps." She then looked at me. "And yes, he insisted on endearments but I did not allow him. Besides, being called by my last name sound way cooler. Right Aiden?" She looked back and winked at Aiden.
Poor Aiden, I can really feel that the one who is dominant in their relationship is Ella. But of course I trust her that she won't be toxic. Maybe. Let's just hope not.
The four of us went inside the elevator together and started deciding where to eat.
