44: Where is She?
Third Person's POV
[Fifteen Years Ago...]
(A week later...)
"Red..." Blue called her sister's name. She settled herself at the ground as she asks that and looks at her sister, which is a meter distance from her.
"Why?" Red asks and looks up at the clear blue sky. The place they're in is silent and peaceful. It is calm to hear the dance of the leaves and the song of the birds despite how lonely the place is.
"Do you think, it's an accident?" Blue asks while staring at one particular thing in front of her. Blue caress it as if it was her fluffy bear toy. She heard Red heaved a deep breath and a little while, heard Red's footsteps getting louder and louder as the seconds pass by. Blue's just staring blankly at the thing in front of her until she felt Red sat beside her.
"Do you?" Red asks instead of answering her question. Not even taking any glance, Blue rests her head at Red's shoulder. Blue felt Red's arm, rest on her shoulder as well.
"It's hard to tell. Besides, we don't have enough evidence to prove that it isn't" Blue says, stating only what she thinks is the possible reason for what had happened a week ago.
Silence took over the place. They are both looking ahead of them with a blank expressions. Blue blinks several times and glance at her hands. It was cold and shaking, perhaps because of too many heavy emotions, she's feeling inside. She doesn't know how to name it for it was too many and they're likely to mix that causes her confusion. If it is sadness, anger, loneliness, or loathe; she gives up guessing what is it.
"Take a deep breath, think of your condition. I don't want to be kept alone and be more miserable than I am today" Red says as she held Blue's trembling hands.
Blue doesn't know why but her heart broke after hearing those words from Red. It shattered more knowing she'll soon leave Red alone, facing the cruelness of the world.
"I'm sorry..." Blue uttered, her voice nearly breaking. She gulps and takes a deep breath as she blinks her tears away.
"I don't want to hear that word" Red mumbled, almost a whisper. Blue blink her eyes and just keep her mouth closed. She doesn't want to add more salt to her sister's wounds. That's just too much for her to handle, Blue thought and closed her eyes.
Red felt her shoulder goes numb. Suddenly, Blue's head felt heavy for her. She glances at her sister and smiled a little when she sees that her sister is already asleep on her shoulder.
She caresses her sister's head and heaves a sigh and fix Blue into her lap. Stroking her hands into Blue's hair, she stared at the thing in front of her.
"Rest in peace" she muttered and settled herself as she fixes herself and Blue at the ground. Laying down, she stared at the blue sky until she drifted to sleep.
Before she finally is asleep, the image of the thing they stared at earlier came into her mind.

"Since when did you learn to come home late, Blue?" tapping on her computer's keyboard, Red asks Blue who just entered the main door.
"Since last week?" Blue says. Red raise a brow when she felt like it was a sarcastic remark. Not even glancing at her sister, she continued what was she doing before Blue entered their house.
"Where did you go this time?" asked Red. The last time she went to look for Blue, she got lost in the way. She doesn't know where and who is the person Blue's meeting up with. Add the fact that this is the first time, Blue acts this way.
"Just somewhere" Blue answered and shrugged her shoulder off and went to the stairs. But before she can take a single step, Red stood up from typing on the keyboard just right beside the stair. It was too sudden that the chair caused a noise.
"Blue, whatever it is, or whoever is the person you're meeting up, I don't care. Just please, be back here on time!" Red couldn't help but burst out. Blue rolled her eyes and glance at her sister.
"Just do your work, Red. I am not a child for Pete's sake!" Blue wants to stay calm as possible but to her surprise, she could really shout and voice out her thoughts that easily.
"You've changed" Red commented while shaking her head. Blue smiled sarcastically and just turn her back. She doesn't want to deal with her sister if they are both not in the mood. After all, she's her sister, and that, they only have each other.
"Fix yourself and have dinner" Red uttered before taking her seat and continuing what she was doing earlier. But before she can have a seat, Blue said something.
"Dine with dinner, have your dinner. Don't wait for me" Blue says and went up into her room.
"Just what the heck is wrong with her?" Red exclaimed and take her seat. She runs her fingers at her hair and stared at her computer blankly.
Upon closing the door of her room, Blue leans her back at it. She heaved a sigh and tilt her head as if glancing at her sister at her back.
"I'm sorry, but I need to do this. By doing everything, you can easily forget about me. If ever something happens, I need you to be strong, not for me but yourself..." Blue uttered and went into the bathroom of her room.
After taking a bath, she settled herself on her bed and stared at the ceiling. She feels like, she died together with her mom. She doesn't feel alive even though her heart is beating. She blinks and blinks and tried to feel her heart.
She bits her lower lip when she feels nothing. She feels empty. She's numb already. She doesn't know why. Her mother's face suddenly appeared in front of her. Her eyes start to water as her mother smiled at her.
She lifts her head as if reaching for her mother's face to hold to. To feel her once again. But as soon as she touches her mother's face, it disappeared. She blinks her tears away and smiled sadly.
"Mom..." she uttered as her tears freely flow out of her eyes. She sniffed and turn on her side and hugged her pillow and closed her eyes.
"I'm sorry..." she uttered before drifting to sleep.

Kicking all pebbles she passes by, Red heaved a sigh.
"How did we end up in this situation?" she asks herself and keep kicking stones in the ground not minding she's walking alone in their street.
She stops walking and looks up. The night sky is a bit dull and dark. Too dark like what her heart feels right now.
"I must stop Blue from going out," she said to herself and turn her back and was about to take a step forward when it hits her.
"But... As she said, she's not a child anymore. Geez! That brat, tsk" she hissed and just walk her way into their house.
Upon entering the main door, she glances upstairs. "Maybe she's sleeping?" Red asks herself again. She shook her head and heave a deep breath.
She decided to have a rest after locking all the doors and windows on the first floor. She went upstairs and went into her room. But before that, she checked her sister's room.
She opens the door slowly, trying not to make any noise. She furrowed her brows when she saw a clean and neat bed. It's as if, no one enters the room.
"Where is she?" Red asks and roams her eyes to look for Blue. She went into the bathroom, walk-in closet, veranda, and all four corners of the room, but she found nothing.
"Just where the hell is she?!"
