23: Record your DNA
Naiah's POV
I was just staring blankly at the coffins in front of me. Who's burial it is? My Dad? Or Quenda? Or both, I don't know.
It's been three days since what happened in the forest. I can't seem to accept it, but I need to. Whatever the reason is, I need to. Huh, I scoffed in my mind. That's absurd. Can I? I don't think I can. But they say, time heals your wound. Let's see if it is true.
"You killed my sister! You killed my sister! Ahh!!!" I saw the crazy girl through my peripheral vision. She's fuming mad and she's going to kill me too in an instant if it's not with the help of Gust and D. I rolled my eyes at that.
This crazy girl seems to have a huge grudge against me the first time she laid her eyes on me. But then, she's right. But how did she know? She's not in the scene. I shrugged off the idea and just looked ahead of me.
"Have coffee" I looked up to see L, as she handed me a coffee. I shooked my head as I reached it.
"How are you?" she asked. I shrugged.
"Fine, I guess?"
"You're fine then" I rolled my eyes as it seems sarcastic to me.
"Don't you want to see your father? You're just sitting up here three days straight"
"Maybe, I need more days to cope up with everything that has happened," I said nonchalantly and drink my coffee. But I spit it out, real quick.
"What the heck?!" I shouted. Others seem disturbed and shocked by my sudden reaction. I grimaced at how bitter the coffee is. I cough and cough, my throat hurts.
"Oh, so you're awake now"
"Do I seem asleep to you? Is this even a coffee?" I asked her. She only hissed at me and sat properly. And the next thing I knew, she went quiet as she is, again. I heaved a sigh and sat beside her.
"Is there anything you want to say to me?" I asked. She looked at me through my peripheral vision.
"I thought you won't ask me," she said. I rolled my eyes and leaned on my seat as I crossed my arms. I was just looking ahead of me.
"What is it?" I asked again.
"Nothing significant with the situation"
"Nothing?"
"Yes"
"And I thought you would say, 'it doesn't concern you, tsk"
"I was about to, but never mind" I can't seem to stop rolling my eyes whenever she talks.
"Naiah" I glanced at my back and saw Gust sweating all over. The crazy seems to do her best to come near me.
"What is it?" I asked and back to staring ahead of me.
"Someone's looking for you" I raised a brow. Who could that be?
"Who?"
"Just go outside so you will know" I furrowed my brows and looked at Gust.
"I'm not in the mood" after I said that, I looked at the coffins in front of me.
"They are with Keiko" after hearing that, I looked at Gust. He has a stern look.
"What did you say?"
"They are--"
"They" I cut him off, it means, Keiko's with a few friends with him. And I wonder who could they be?
"If you don't want, I can talk to--"
"No, I'll go. Can you watch them for me?" I asked and looked at the coffins.
"Don't worry about that. Go..." I nodded and glanced at L. She nods her head and I took that cue to turn my back and walk outside the hall.
"Keiko" I greeted when I saw him, leaning at the door frame. I looked around to see if he's with a friend.
"They'll be back" I looked at Keiko when he said that. I arched my brow and crossed my arms.
"Who are they? What are they doing here? Do they have a connection with Quenda as well as my father?" I sternly voice out. He heaved a sigh as he put his hands on his side pockets.
"Ask them" I clenched my jaw but I took a deep breath and just stared at his face. He has blue eyes that are shining despite his surroundings. Dark and full of mysteries.
He raised his brow and looked intently at my eyes. "Gray eyes" he spoke. I lifted an eyebrow but stayed silent. Giving him a chance to say something more than that.
"Are your eyes really..." he trailed off and leaned his face that took me by surprise. But I held myself, I bend back a bit. He leaned closer until his head is at the side of my head, to be specific, he labeled his mouth into my ears.
"Gray? I don't think so" I stiffened but gritted my teeth. I was about to push him away when someone pulled his collar.
"Hey, Blue! Aggressive, aren't we? Don't scare the little kitten" it was as if, my ears get sensitive to what I heard and I was ready to punch the other guy who intruded with my conversation with Keiko when he raises both hands as if he was surrendering. But then, gritting my teeth as well as glaring at the guy, I heaved a deep breath.
"And who are you?" I ask, I let my hands on my back as I balled my fist. One foul word from him, this fist of mine will land on his pretty ugly face. He's a jerk.
"I'm Thron. Black would be fine" another color name. Everyone around me has a color name. Is it just a coincidence or they are all lying to me and keeping their secrets, deep down on the ground?
"Are you gay?" I ask when I saw Black putting his hand at Keiko's back.
"Huh? Of course not! Why did you ask?" he awkwardly laughs as he said that. I raised a brow but said nothing. I am becoming more suspicious about all the people who will and are about to approach me.
Secrets. Some secrets are for the better, some are for the worst. I don't want to experience such. Neither for the better nor the worst. It's still a secret that can hurt you like hell. It's like living in a hell full of agony and hatred. That was like it.
"Is he the only one you've brought here?" I ask and gaze at Keiko who seems in deep thoughts as he didn't hear me.
Black nudged him at his side. "Dude! She's asking you" he said. I lifted an eyebrow and looked at Black.
"You can also answer that one. How many are you here? What's your sole reason for coming here? Because it's not like I would like to or I would allow or welcome some strangers on my territory" I strictly voice out and cross arms. They both went silent.
"Hey! What's with the atmosphere?" A high-pitched voice interrupted the silence between us, three.
She has wavy white shoulder-length hair. She is also wearing an all-white outfit. From her white ponytail, white earrings, necklace down to her white off-shoulder dress, and white heels. She could be an angel from the past.
"Hey! I'm sorry for the trouble and we're here to offer, I mean, to say our condolences" she said cheerfully. I creased my forehead as she seems familiar to me. I've seen her before. I am sure about that.
"You're A" I pointed at her as I remembered her face. She's with Keiko at that time, at the back of the building.
"Oh, seems like you know me, eh? Have I seen you before?" she asked, I lifted an eyebrow and shrugged.
"It's for you to find out. Seems like you're all here. You can go inside but let me remind you, don't go anywhere or touch anything. I can detect any foul movements so better be careful. I will not give you any mercy" they went silent. I rolled my eyes and turn my back but then I forgot something...
I looked back and smirked at them. A furrowed her brows while the two men are just looking at me and waiting for what I am about to say.
"For that being said..." I trailed off and looked at them one by one.
"You all have to do something first before you can enter my territory. And that is..."I trailed off again. Seems like they can't wait because of their clenched jay, balled fist as well as gritting their teeth.
