Some minutes later they got to the nearest hospital, thanks to God Sophie is still breathing but not as it should be.
The nurse bring out the slate bed and rushed her into the emergency unit and start her treatment immediately.
They cut off her clothes so she will be able to breathe well, the doctor saw marks on her body and wanted to ask what caused it but due to the emergency treatment she needs he keep the question for later, she was given oxygen to make her keep breathing well because she is too weak to breathe in the air herself.
An hour later they were able to stable her breathing and relieve her pain, when the doctor was done with the treatment he called Mrs Hayden to see him at the office which she did immediately thinking he wanted to talk about her bills.
Doctor: Good day to you ma'am
Mrs. Hayden: yeah, good day; how much is my bill?
Doctor: that is not the main reason I called you to my office ma'am, I notices some mark on that lady's body which I suspect is caused by strokes of the cane, do you by any means know how she acquire those marks?
Mrs Hayden: if that is what you want to ask me, then I will take my leave because I did not come here to answer any foolish questions ( she stand up in annoyance)
Doctor: Then I think suing you is the best option here because I don't understand how you will treat a human being like that, it's unfair and this is a violent crime in which you can get imprisoned for two years or more; am not taking this lightly.
Mrs Hayden: (now with a gentle voice) Doctor how much do you need I will give it to you, you don't need to report this issue.
Doctor: am not taking any money from you it's either you promise not to act like that again and we are going to make it legal by taking it down in a book, you will sign and I will sign or I report you to human right and you enjoy your life in prison for two years or more.
Mrs Hayden: okay I promise not to act like that again and will sign the paper( she said looking at the doctor wickedly)
The doctor brings out a piece of paper on which a logo was imprinted on it and starts writing the vow.

As she e got outside the doctor's door, she made her hair well, and rearrange her makeup so no one will notice that she is angry or suspect anything.

Mrs Hayden go to the reception so she can pay the bills and go home, however, she was told Sophie can not go home for now, she will need to take full treatment so she can be okay and balanced.
This makes her angry, but her anger subdues a bit when she thought about who the house chores will be given to when Sophie is not around.
She goes into the room where Sophie is transferred to call Layla so they can go home together.
Mrs. Hayden: Layla, let's go home
Layla: no am not going home, if we go home who is going to stay with Sophie
Mrs. Hayden: the nurse is here, so nothing will happen to her, let's go home I say ( with a harsh voice)
Layla: am not going, am staying with her till she is okay to go home, it's not by force to follow you home, you and Zoey with the security man can go home together.
Mrs Hayden: you are disobeying me right, is this what your parent teach you when they were alive? To disobey your elderly ones?
The nurse attending to the other patient has been listening to their conversation and did not want to interfere with it thinking they were mother and daughter arguing but the last sentence mra Hayden said make her interfere.
Nurse: ma'am your words are too harsh, she is a small girl you are supposed to talk to her with love and not like you just did( she faces Layla) hey little girl how are you?
Layla: am fine thanks 😊
Nurse: am glad to hear that from you; you can’t stay in the hospital with the patient you are too young, and the doctors won't allow you, have you heard stories of ghosts?
Layla: yes, but ghosts are not real they are just fictional
Nurse: who told you that, ghosts are real in hospitals they do move around at midnight, so you have to go so they won’t attack you
Layla: that is why I need to stay with Sophie, I don’t want ghosts to attack her and I don’t want anything bad to happen to her, she doesn't have anyone to stay with her.
Nurse: ma'am who is this girl to you, please
Mrs. Hayden: she is my maid
Nurse: I think so too, but can't you call her parent to stay with her, it is not safe to leave a patient alone in the hospital without anyone to cater for her.
Mrs. Hayden: she lost her family in an accident
Layla: is that why you threatened her of chasing her of your house, you are heartless ( she starts crying)
The nurse and her aunt were surprised by the sudden outburst
Mrs Hayden: after calling me heartless you start crying, so you are guilty now
Nurse: hey little girl, what is wrong? Why the sudden outburst?
Layla: she knows Sophie doesn't have any family like me so she treats her badly and makes Sophie always sad, it is not fair (eeeeeeee, she continues crying)
Nurse: little girl, it’s okay, don’t cry okay, she won’t treat her badly anymore; go home now so you can rest and Sophie should be happy when she sees you healthy and happy
Layla: I will go home, please take care of her she doesn’t have anyone to stay with her
Nurse: Okay, no problem darling I will take care of her but promise me to eat well and be happy
Layla: ( she cleans her eye with her palm) I promise
Nurse: smile for me
Layla: (she smiles) Thank you, nurse.
She waves at Sophie while following her aunt out so they would go home
