The same night at home, Bradley and Morgan met again, but this time, he was calm, like nothing had happened.
“How was your passage here, and which means of transportation did you use for the trip?” Bradley asked as he sat on the single couch next to my seat.
“Hmm, it looks like my best friend has come to his senses and recognizes me,” Morgan reacts.
Bradley glared at Morgan. “I would if you didn’t stop bugging Leila, especially in front of me!”
Morgan frowned as he looked at me. “Did I pester you, Leila?” he asked with puppy eyes.
These two are impossible to be with. If I stay with them for sure, my other half will come out! I murmured to myself, so I excused myself. “Since Bradley is already here, I’ll go to the kitchen first and check if the dinner is ready.”
Morgan smiled, and Bradley nodded, so I urgently got up to leave. On the way to the kitchen, I caught up with Eunice, who was coming down the stairs, looking sexy in a halter mini dress.
“Leila, can I talk to you for a second?” Eunice said when I went straight and did not stop to greet her.
Even though I no longer wanted to talk to Eunice, she still forced me to stop my walk while being forced to smile. “What is it? Do you need anything?”
“It’s important. And I want to talk to you in private,” Eunice smiled at me, but I could see the gravity on her face.
We talked on the side of the veranda, and there are two chairs and a small table.
“I’ll go straight to the point, so answer me with the truth.” Eunice’s glare at me delivered a chill, so I was even more uncomfortable.
“What is it? Did I do something that was unappealing to you?” I can’t help but worry, so I recall what happened during the past day.
I’m not worried about myself. I fear for the Sapphire pack. The alpha of the Paragon pack is inhuman, especially if it involves his only child.
“I like Bradley very much ... As I look at you, I can tell you feel the same way,” Eunice proclaimed. Her sitting position changed. She leaned back in the chair, cross-armed, while gazing at me.
“Eunice, it seems we differ from that perspective,” I answered with a laugh to further emphasize the rejection of her declaration.
“Leila, you can’t fool me. We’re both women. Your gaze on Bradley is the same as the way I look at him!” As Eunice’s voice grew more and more irritated, I drifted off to sleep, feeling my chest tighten with each word.
“Then this time, you’re wrong! Don't doubt me - Bradley is my brother! I look at Bradley with admiration because of his competence,” I insisted while clenching my fists under the table. I don’t know, but I’m hurt by the denial I’m making.
“Lie! Your eyes are betraying you!” Eunice affirmed.
Am I that obvious? No! I kept my true feelings for Bradley well-hidden when Eunice was around, not wanting to give anything away. I muttered to myself while thinking of what to say.
“But don’t worry, I can’t blame you. Every girl that Bradley meets falls for him.” Eunice smiled knowingly. “Even being a sister can’t stop you from feeling the pull of his charm.”
I felt my heart racing, my breath becoming more and more rapid as my vision blurred. Until I can no longer understand the words Eunice is saying.
“Leila! Did you understand what I said?” Eunice exclaimed when she noticed that I just bowed and had no reaction to what she said. “Do you agree with my suggestion?” she asked again. This time there is a threat.
“I’m sorry, but can you repeat what you said?”
Eunice could not answer immediately when my manner of speaking changed. Perhaps she was accustomed to my sweet and innocent voice.
She said, “help me with Bradley, and there is something to give you in return. “
I responded to Eunice’s incomplete explanation with an insane and sharp chuckle. That’s why Eunice’s beautiful face was wrinkled with annoyance.
“You are being cocky, Leila! Perhaps you forgot who I am!” Eunice slams her hand on the table, a reason to create a loud noise.
“No, I don’t forget who you are ... You’re the daughter of the alpha of the strongest pack. But that’s it ... nothing more! If not for him, you’re nothing,” I sneered in response. I stared at the shattered table because of Eunice’s strong slam.
“How dare you! Leila Aragon! Are you trying to tell me I'm nothing without my father?!” Eunice screamed in frustration. She couldn’t stop trampling because of the anger that wanted to be released.
I let out a loud laugh. “That’s your word, not mine,” I muttered and stood up to leave.
“Not so fast! Do you think I’ll let you insult me like that?!” Eunice grabbed my arms and powerfully threw me back to my stand.
"Eunice, you're being rude to your host," I said, wincing as I rubbed my aching back against the pole beside me.
“You said I was worthless if not for my father! Then let me prove to you what I can do!” Eunice’s vein in her neck popped out. Her brown eyes changed into ocean blue.
I didn’t feel threatened. Instead, I smirked at Eunice. “You're really sure you want to challenge me?”
When Eunice's fury finally erupted, her claws were shown before she quickly dashed and pounced on me.
“This is fun ...” I whisper as the color of my eyes changes into crimson. Before Eunice’s claws hit my body, I instantly disappeared from my stand and appeared in the timber that serves as a small railing.
“How did you?” Eunice’s word cut in the middle when she saw my crimson eyes. She steps back, terrified. “Your eyes ... It’s impossible!”
“What’s wrong, Eunice? You look scared? Why? I have done nothing yet ...” I sneered while walking on the railing.
“You bitch!” Eunice's enslavement to fear was abolished in response to my pointed mockery. She jumps high and shifts into her wolf while in the air.
As Bradley and Morgan were in the middle of a deep conversation, sipping on their drinks, they were taken aback when they felt Eunice’s wolf.
“What the hell is going on?!” Morgan asked. But Bradley did not respond; instead, he dashed toward the veranda.
And there ... they saw two wolves ... fighting each other or, rather, say, the white wolf toying with the gray wolf.
