Damon's POV "What is the problem?" I asked, arching my eyebrows as Hart barged into my office, looking pensive. He didn't have a reason to do that. I had already signed and handed the documents I needed to. We needed to find a way to keep the contract we were about to leave. This wasn't the time for him to play open and close with my office door. "You need to see this." He said, handing his phone to me. I sighed, steeling my heart before I collected his phone and expecting the worst. I didn't think I could survive knowing another business partner wanted to call it quits with us but I knew I had to check it regardless. I sighed when I saw a picture of Sasha on the screen instead and frowned as I looked up at Hart. "You've found Sasha?" I asked, my heart lighting with hope. "Why haven't you dragged her here if you've found her?" Hart sighed, his expression taking on a comical turn. He looked at me as if I was silly and he wanted to give me a slap to wake up to reality. "Don't be like this, boss." He groaned. "Look at the picture again." I glanced at the picture again and wondered what it was that I had missed. I didn't think I had missed any but I checked the picture again. "Oh!" I gasped as I noticed my mistake. The woman wasn't Sasha. I had only glanced at the face but not the length of the hair. Nora had long hair which was exactly what the woman in the picture had. It couldn't be Sasha. It wasn't long enough that she left home and her hair couldn't have grown that long within that space of time. Moreover, Sasha didn't like growing her hair as she complained that it was too much hassle combing and finding ways to style it. "What is Nora's picture doing on a blog post?" I asked Hart, my eyes filled with terror. I was too anxious to read what the post was. I wondered if Nora had betrayed our agreement and posted our relationship to the world. That would be the end of me. I couldn't help freaking out and wondering if I had made a mistake by trusting her. Hart sighed as he got his phone from me. "What would it cost you to read the post, Damon?" He noticed my trembling fingers and sighed before he started reading the post. "Help! My girlfriend is missing. I don't know where she is but I know she is alive. She is Nora, twenty-six, has long black hair and black eyes. If anyone sees her or knows anything about her whereabouts, kindly reach out to me." He cleared his throat. "I don't think I should read out his contact to you." I shook my head, confirming that he didn't need to. The few words he had read to me had done nothing but turn my stomach and dampen my spirit. "What is wrong with him?" I sighed, clenching hard my fists. "I thought you said her boyfriend is an abusive man and wouldn't miss her." Hart sighed. "That was what I thought but it seemed like love can't be predicted." "To hell with love." I growled, bouncing off the chair and pacing the floor of my office, my joints tense with worry. "I thought you said he was a broke idiot who lived on Nora's gullibility. How did he afford paying a blogger to make a post about a missing girlfriend?" "I thought so too but it seemed he has friends who could help him." "I need that article brought down." I hissed. It wasn't like I was doing anything bad by ordering that. I wasn't interfering with a man's search but saving a lady's life. I had no doubt he only needed Nora because she was his meal ticket and an outlet for his toxicity. "Do we need to?" He sighed. I turned to him, my eyes flaring with annoyance. "Do we need to?" I mimicked him, my hiss evident as that of a pained snake. "Not bringing down his article is like leaving fire on the mountain. Nora has never been a social media person which is why you made that mistake when you found her because you had no idea of Nora's existence beforehand. You would have seen her in any of the online scans you ran when you were subtly looking for Sasha if she was a social media inclined person." Hart sighed and I knew he understood what I meant but I continued anyway. "If people in my circle find this post and see the name, they will start wondering who Nora is. What if they ask Nora if she knew she has a twin called Nora in another part of our world? Nora would be rattled and wouldn't be able to hide her emotions if that happened. I need that article gone. How soon can you make that happen?" "By the end of today." "Make sure it doesn't exceed that." I ordered and waved him out of my office in a dismissal. I watched as he bowed and walked out of my office, knowing that I wouldn't ever be able to relax till the day was over.
