Chapter 11 Meeting at the club

Mark was woken up by his ringing cellphone. "James this must be good, to wake me up this early in the morning."
"Good morning to you to sir but its nine already and everyone is awake by now."
"I see you forgot, I'm not everyone, I'm your boss and the CEO, I can sleep for as long as I wish to besides it a weekend."
"Sorry sir, just reminding you we have a meeting at the club today."
"Okay come and pick me up in half an hour." Without waiting for a response he ended the call, took a shower changed into some casual cloth's and went down for breakfast.
"Morning Mary." He took a seat at the kitchen table.
"Morning son, how was you night, hope you rested well."
"Yes I did thank you, where is Melissa has she not come down yet?" He asked while pouring himself a glass of orange juice.
"She left early today." Mary informed him.
"Where would she go? Its a Saturday and they don't work on weekend's."
"She asked Adams to drop her to the mall and that she was later meeting up with her long time friend, she just reconnected with."
"Okay I'll also be leaving, I have a meeting." Just then James walked in, said hi to Mary and took an apple from the fruit basket.
"Did you find any information about him?" Mark asked walking out of the dinning room.
"No nothing, he's a sly man, you only meet him when he wants to. I'm sure he knows more about the organization than he is letting on."
"Okay let talk to him and see what he has to say but keep our men on the ground and inform me as soon as you find any new information." They got into the car and in half an hour they were at the club, were a waiter showed them to the room.
"I'm sorry sir only you can go in." One of the bodyguard's at the door informed him.
"Fine, James I'll give you a call once we're done."
"Okay sir, do excuse me." James walked off leaving him with the two bodyguards.
He walked in and found a older man in his late fifties seated at the table for two in dimly light room sipping his tea. "Mark Johnson its good to finally meet you."
"Its good to meet you to sir." The lighting made it difficult to clearly see his face.
"Have a sit." He waved at the men to leave.
"Thank you." He poured a cup of steaming tea and handed it to him.
"Sir I'm here to talk about Mr White and his involvement with the organization." Mark informed, took a sip and watched the man before him.
"Why would I know about him?"
"According to my sources you we're the last person he met with before his death and I'm guessing he told you something about his investigation."
"Your guess is not wrong but all I can say now is for you to take good care of Melissa. keep her from harm and talking of her, She is in the club trying to meet me but this is not the right time. They are watching her every move if she gets any information at the moment or keeps up with the investigation they might have her killed."
"How do I protect her if you don't give me any information to work with?"
"You are a smart man that why you got her to stay at your house, I'm sure you will figure everything out. I'll contact you with all the information when the time is right, just keep her safe for now."
"Okay I'll take care of her but under the condition you will give me all the information about the organization and how to end their illegal dealings."
"Don't give me condition's boy, I'll have my people contact you." He tapped his cane on the floor and the two bodyguards showed up. They helped him up and escorted him out through a secret door.
"Boss what did he say?" James asked as soon as Mark got. He had been waiting at the hall way with his bodyguards.
"Nothing much, he wants me to take care of Melissa. I want you to find all information about her, from all her parents relative's and friends to whom she has been seeing and meeting with since she come to the city. I want to know why the old man wants to protect her so much."
"Okay sir I'll have the information in the office by Monday morning, and sir should I have her aunt investigated too, she has been living with her for the last four years."
"Yes and get someone to watch over her to, if they can't have Melissa they will go after the people close to her."
....
Melissa met with Diana at the mall and spent several hours shopping. Well it was more of Diana showing off how rich she was and could afford to buy anything. She purchased several fancy and expensive clothes and shoe's. She offered to buy some for Melissa but Melissa declined and bought some toilets she needed. After the purchase she got the sales lady to have them delivered to her home then went to the club for lunch.
Getting to the club it was impossible for her to shake Diana off. Diana insisted on following her everywhere so she had to sit and have lunch hoping she would get a chance to sneak out. Diana was watching her every move. The dinning hall was fully parked since it was on a weekend and Melissa suspected that Diana had some people watching them.
She got a chance to sneak out when Diana got a business call and excused herself to answer. She went to the restroom but noticed two men following her. She managed to shake them off but by the time she went to the room it was too late. To her disappointment there was no one there.
"May I help you ma'am?" One of the clubs employee asked when he saw her at the door.
"The people who booked this room, did they come?" She asked.
"Yes you just missed them, they left ten minutes ago."
"What? They left, do you know them..I mean can you tell me who they were and which way they went?"
"Sorry it's against the hotels rules, I can't give you any information its confidential."
"Okay I understand, thank you anyway." She walked back to the dinning hall, where Diana was waiting looking around to see if she would see a familia face.
"Melissa what took you so long? I was about to come and look for you." Diana was busy on her phone, looking at her Melissa wondered what business she and her father carried out using their transport company.
"I lost my way back but got one of the employee's to help."
"Ha ha ha.. Melissa you have not changed, after all this years you have no sense of direction."
"You can't blame me Diana, have not been in such a big and luxurious place for along time."
"Well aunt and uncle pampered you so much its a pity how life has changed for you." Hearing her words Melissa sneered in her heart.
"I'll make you pay for everything I have gone through." She swore to herself. "I have to go now Diana, my friend may be look for me have been out all morning." Since she didn't manage to meet the person she wanted to, Melissa didn't see any reason for her to stay and pretend to enjoy the company.
"Yeah we should, why don't I give you a ride." Diana had to find out where she lived that way they could keep an eye on her and know what she was up to, for the past week they sent people to truck her down but they got no information. No one ever saw her leaving or going into her work place and it was getting hard to know her every move.
"No need to trouble yourself, I'll take a taxi." Melissa couldn't let Diana know where and who she was living with. While Diana was distracted by the waiter who brought their bill, she got her phone under the table and sent a text to the driver to pick her up.
"Melissa its no trouble, we are long time friends almost like sisters and I would love to see this friend of yours.
"Really Diana you don't have to." Just then she got a message, a reply from the driver. "Oh my friend just texted, he's coming to pick me up."
"Okay let go I would love to see him." They got to packing at club entrance and to Diana's surprise he come to pick her up in a limousine.
