Chapter 7 The Mystics

Creme Panama POV:
After surviving a rampaging kingkong, we stuck around as Elise tries to collect something from the corpse.
"Ugh this hurts." I groan as my body aches.
"Don't complain so much will you, you're not the one who had to hold it off for minutes." Elise says as she cuts the back of the corpse.
Wow this girl really has no mercy to spare. Did she already forget that I was the one who killed the monster?
"So... since when have you been a mystic, I could've sworn you're an ordinary geek." Elise says as she analyze the insides the burnt body.
"A mystic? Like people who interact with magical phenomenon?" I ask as I pry out some of the spikes on the back of the ape.
"Yes something like that, by the way I wanted to ask this for a while now, but what the hell are you doing?" She pauses as she see me struggling.
"Well as you can see I'm trying to collect materials for new weapons, and I was actually pretty normal until I fell into a portal a few days ago. Since one of my five limited edition exploding ballpens have been used, I need to find other weapons for the mean time." I said as I try to chip away the spikes with my long knife.
"So you mean to tell me that an ordinary high schooler killed a spike gorilla, one of the most threatening mid-level monsters even without knowing anything about magic or about them?" She says looking at me in all seriousness.
"Damn spike gorilla is a cool name but even though I don't know them, I do know that the mouth is a pretty soft spot. It underestimated me that's why it died." I said while taking pictures of the spike gorilla.
"Also you didn't use any magic tools but an exploding pen and a makeshift umbrella? There's no way something as small as a pen can explode like that unless it's enchanted." Elise says looking at me suspiciously.
"Well you'd be surprised how powerful explosions are when you mix the right chemicals, and didn't I tell you already I was normal up till a few days ago. I don't even have a magic armor like you do." I said.
"Nice I found it" she carves the heart of the gorilla and inside she pulls out a glowing red crystal. I look at her curious of why she's so happy about it, it looks high quality but I doubt that things like jewelry can make her smile.
"This are Core Crystals, they're kind of similar to batteries except crystals are powerful sources of mana and can be used to create a variety of weapons. Wish I could give it to you but I need it right no-" Elise stops talking as we hear the sirens of the police.
I look at the police cars going to our direction and asked her "Hey how are we supposed to explain this giant corps-" but when I turned around she was already gone.
The police came out of their cars with fully equipped heavy artillery, "Drop your weapons and put your hands up!" They said on the radio as they get ready to fire.
"Wait alright alright." I unstrapped my black kit and threw it away. I proceeded to raise both my hands just like in the movies thinking to myself "Ok Crème just relax, don't move unless you want us to die."
Two of the police slowly proceeded to remove and inspect my black kit while one tall police steps out the car. He has white beard, metallic arms, six foot height, and a scar on his right eye.
He lights up a cigarette, inspects the corpse, and with his deep voice he says. "Apprehend this possible cultist for immediate interrogation, the rest of you bring back the corpse of the spike gorilla for examinations."
"Cultist?" I asked as another cop puts me on handcuffs and places me on the back of the car. I tried my best to tell them what happened but the neither of them paid any attention. I still tried to explain myself as they put me in a cell but it fell on deaf ears, one cop eventually heard me and she said "Oh I'm sorry are you not comfortable?" I nodded but she said "The why don't you just wait your turn and shut the hell up already!"
My smile disappeared and deep in my mind I thought "I was trying to be nice but ok, you want to play it this way then I don't mind." She puts me in a room and decides to interrogate me, ask me what I saw and what I did. Now that I'm seated in front of her, I can see that she has scales on her neck and claws in her hands similar to a lizard.
"Why were you scavenging the body parts of the spike gorilla? And where is its Core crystal?" She asks in a serious demanding tone, but I just stare blankly at her with my normal face.
"I will ask you again dirty cultist, tell me where I can find the crystal and what are you doing with the spike gorilla then maybe I'll consider letting you go." She scratches the table with her sharp claws to threaten me but I'm still unfazed.
"One last time! If you don't want to stay here then tell me what happened to the crystal!" She says with her face about to explode with anger, but still I look at her unfazed. I look at her without any emotions in mind, just like absent mindedly staring in a book.
She smashes the door open and leaves to get something in the evidence room. She opens the black kit and throws everything inside onto the table. Four pens, four buttons, two alcohol bottles, umbrella and bone spikes covered the table.
"This is your stuff right? I wonder what would happen if I-" She breaks the umbrella as she bends it in half. Her smile widens as she does the deed, but I'm still unfazed. Her pissed off face had enough, she keeps pressing messing with my stuff and even smashes some of them into the walls breaking them.
She clicks the pen and teases me by making stupid faces, "Aww what cute pens you have, it's such a shame if I were to break all of them." She was doing her best to get a reaction, but unfortunately she let the pen too close up to her face.
BOOM! I duck as the pen explodes filling up the whole room with smoke. Mystic Cops came to the door wondering what happened, in amidst of all this I can see the scales in her faces becomes more solid and red.
She was in a daze, surprised of what just happened. She turns towards me and in that moment I smiled widely, blood can be seen rushing through the veins of her forehead. She lunges towards me and tries to slash my neck, my smile didn't go away in fact it became wider.
"That's enough." A tall man comes through the door with metallic arms, she hesitates but stops and goes out of the room frustrated. The guy facing me now on the table is the one who called me a possible cultist, because of that all the cops around me treated me worse than others.
"Can't you just cooperate with the interrogation, if you are what you say you are then there's no reason for you not to answer. You're lucky I came in the right time or else your head would be flying off." He says as he rubs his white bear.
"Can't cooperate huh? I wonder if it's even possible to cooperate with brick walls. Why cooperate when you guys don't want to hear me out? Now that make no sense." I said with a sarcastic tone.
"I'm lucky you came at the right time? No, you're lucky she has scales or else she would have her head blown off." I said in a threatening manner. Don't get it wrong, I may be a good person but I do have one rule when it comes to people, respect is paid with respect. Whether it's a teacher, a principal or a police, if you can't respect me then I won't respect you.
The Captain's eyes became serious, a child dare threatens his comrades but I think for him the scary part about it is that it's really possible. He inhales and exhales then proceeds to talk. "Look, I just want to say sorry that we got on the wrong foot and another sorry on behalf of my underling. She just has a lot of hatred for what she lost to the cults."
"So? That does make it right for her to treat me terribly like a criminal or something? I don't care about much about her, I just want compensation for my weapons." I said not giving any sympathy to him or her.
He stands up and guides me to another room filled with cells that have are engraved with magical ruins, the prisoners we're boxed in something similar to glass panel. From the outside it looks normal, but when you come inside you'll see a basement the size five basketball courts.

"Chief Arkinsaw." The guards immediately saluted at him and let us through without any hassle. We just walked around the facility sightseeing some Mystic criminals, I could see a lot of creatures such savage monsters with bubbling mouths, four legged beasts with wings sharpening their claws, beastmen quietly looking at me with their keen eyes.
We kept walking towards the end of the basement and in it lies another room. One person guards the room, she looks like a normal person, but she was loaded with different kinds of weapons. She doesn't have guns but staffs, spears, and scythes. She lets us through and to my horror I saw the cultists.
Arkinsaw didn't have to say anything because it was obvious, if there's one thing that's different from the monsters before is that they're not insane. Giggling, Cursing, and Shouting was all I could hear, most of them eat their own flesh while others try to smash their heads on the glass. I would say that the least person there was the lady who was frantically talking to herself. Each of them have the same tattoo, a bleeding eye inside a circle.
"Why did you show me that?" I asked as we head back into the interrogation room. He doesn't look at me but he says "Our analysis states that the gorilla was fatally wounded by the explosion and fire, not magic. If you are truly someone who came into this world then it's best for you to know how dangerous this is. You have a great potential for killing monsters like the spike gorilla, but if you meet someone with a bleeding eye tattoo then I suggest you run."
We went past the interrogation room and into his police car. I didn't question anything and just followed him, as we drive back to the plaza he continues "When the earth quakes it means that monsters are being from another world, some monsters are good and some are bad but the best thing to do at that time is hide and wait for us to handle it."
"What about the people who disappeared? Are they also going to be transported to another world?" I asked.
We stood in the plaza and he hands me my black kit back along with additional items, "No, after an hour or so, everything reverses and goes back to normal. Well, I hope that's enough compensation for your weapons, educate yourself then maybe I'll consider you in the monster subjugation team."
After Arkinsaw left, Elise appears and fixes the chair then sits on it. She says hi but I just ignored it, I didn't want to talk to her seeing as she ran out on me. The debris from the ground slowly reverses back from before the earthquake happened. The food carts are upright, the people glitches back into existence, and even the gulaman goes back to the container. I will never be able look at gulaman normally again.
