Chapter 37 Strange Harmony

Bam’s POV
Nights had become dangerous in a new way. Not the kind with claws or blood or shadows hunting us from the trees. No. This danger breathed softly against my neck, wrapped arms around my waist, and fought for the right to sleep closest to me. Cristof. Cole. Geri.
Three warm bodies sharing a bed with me like it was the most natural thing in the world now. And somehow, I hadn’t died from embarrassment. Yet. Weeks had. The training continued every morning until afternoon, pushing my bones to crack and my muscles to scream. But every night… every single night… they turned soft. Feverish. Too intimate. The kind of closeness that made it impossible to pretend none of this was happening. Tonight was no different. The lamp by the bed flickered low, painting shadows across the room. I was in the center, like a treasure the three wanted to guard. Or steal. Or both. Cristof’s fingers traced patterns on my arm lazily, a touch so gentle I almost forgot he had claws. On my other side, Cole played with a lock of my hair, looking like he was lost in the warmth of it. And Geri, the Alpha idiot at the foot of the bed, rested his head on my thigh like a wolf refusing to leave his Luna.
The air was thick. Too thick. “So,” I said, voice wobbling a little, “can we talk about Cloud and Radolf?”
Cristof’s hand paused. Cole’s fingers curled. Geri opened his eyes.
Oh great. I just kicked a werewolf hive.
“What about them?” Geri asked first, jaw stiff.
“They’re acting weird around me lately. Like… really weird. Hovering. Overly helpful. And tonight Cloud called me ‘my future… something.’ I couldn’t hear the last part because he choked on his water… but it was suspicious.”
Cristof snorted. “Future Luna. Or future mate. Whatever ridiculous dream he’s clinging to.”
Cole sighed dramatically. “Radolf too. I noticed the way he looks at you.”
The bed felt like a bomb. “So,” I tried again carefully, “do you three think… they… like me?”
Cristof rolled over to face me completely, gold eyes burning. “They do.”
Cole nodded with a pout that looked one puff away from jealousy flames. “They’re just too weak to do anything about it.”
Geri huffed. “And they should remain that way.”
Their reactions were exactly as possessive and territorial as I feared. And yet… I needed answers they kept dancing around. My heart thumped. “You three are seriously okay with… this? With us?” I motioned between them with tiny panicked hands. “Isn’t this relationship too complicated? Too many strings?”
Cristof leaned closer, his breath warm against my cheek. “For strong Lunas, multiple mates aren’t strange at all. It’s tradition in some packs.”
Cole added softly, but with pride in his voice, “Powerful Luna. Powerful bonds.”
Geri grinned like a wolf who’d won. “And you’re the strongest Luna I’ve ever seen.”
Their confidence made heat bloom in my chest. Still, doubt clawed me. “But you’re all Alphas. Doesn’t that make this harder?” I whispered.
Cristof raised my hand and pressed a slow kiss to my knuckles. “We make it work.”
Cole rested his forehead on my shoulder. “As long as we’re close to you.”
Geri looped an arm around my legs. “As long as you’re ours.”
Possessive. Overbearing. Ridiculous. And heartbreakingly sincere. I laughed before I could stop myself. “You guys sound like you’re in a werewolf drama.”
“Oh we are,” Cristof murmured, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. “And you’re the lead.”
Cole nudged closer. “The one we all chose.”
Geri smirked. “The one who can ruin us with a single tear.”
I swallowed hard. My throat felt tight with a warmth I couldn’t handle. “So I’m not… forcing you into this?” I asked quietly.
Cristof’s eyes softened, the cruel sharpness fading. “You could never force me. I chose you long before you knew.”
Cole spoke next, voice low and shaky with old longing. “I’ve waited years. I would wait more if you asked.”
Geri, surprisingly calm, lifted his gaze to mine. “I’ve called you my Luna since high school. You just thought I was playing.”
He wasn’t smiling. He looked… hurt. Vulnerable. I froze. He had always flirted. Always teased. Always acted like it was a game. And I had laughed him off. Maybe he was never joking. My heart did a strange flip. The three of them stared at me like my answer decided the fate of the world. And maybe it did.
I inhaled shakily. “I’m still figuring this out. You three overwhelm me. You scare me. But… I like all of you. And I don’t want to choose just one.”
Cristof’s eyes gleamed triumphantly.
Cole exhaled, shoulders relaxing like I’d handed him oxygen.
Geri chuckled. “Finally.”
Cristof tightened his hold on my waist. “Then we stay. Together.”
Cole intertwined his fingers with mine. “All of us.”
Geri kissed my knee lightly. “No one gets to take you from us.”
The way they looked at me… like I was the moon they worshipped…it made my cheeks burn and my heart feel too big for my chest. Then Cristof tilted my chin up and whispered, “Enough talking.”
Cole’s hand slid around my back, pulling me just a little closer.
Geri shut the lamp off with a flick.
Three heartbeats quickened around me, syncing with mine. Soft lips brushed my temple. Fingers traced my spine. Warmth swallowed me whole. They didn’t fight. They didn’t argue. Tonight, they held me like I was meant for all of them. And for once, I didn’t run from the feeling. Maybe this strange harmony was dangerous.
But it was mine.
