No, no, no, this has to be a trick. My brain is just playing games. It's the guilt of what I did to Kendra that is getting the best of me.
"Nick, let's go find her, she's not in here" it is really Kendra, my sister! My sister is alive. But how is that possible? I remember she was dead in grandfather's cottage. She was lifeless, she wasn't moving. What's going on? Am I losing my mind?
"Is that Kendra?" Heather asked, also peeping.
That's it, if Heather can also see her, that means it's true. I'm not losing my mind, kendra is really alive and well!
I need to make sure, I want to touch her, feel her, make sure she is really okay.
"Kara don't think of going to her, you'll blow our cover!" Heather said as if she was reading my mind.
I know what she's saying is right, but I just can't hold myself back. After all these months of being hunted by my sister's death, she's standing right in front of me. How can I ignore it and stay put?
"I'm sorry Heather"
"Kara are you crazy?" she said pulling my arms, but I have already opened the wardrobe, revealing myself to them.
"Kendra," I say, waiting for her to answer or for someone to wake me up and tell me it's all a dream.
Both Kendra's and the Prince's attention was drawn to meç. For a moment it felt like time has stopped. Nothing was moving and no one was saying anything.
"Kendra! You are alive!" I said, tears rolling down my cheek.
"Kendra!" I said again, this time running towards her. I was about to hug her, to feel her, but the prince stood right in front of her, denying me access.
"What are you doing?" I asked, I didn't even notice how hard I was crying.
"Let me see my sister, what are you doing " I screamed trying to push through. What the heck was he doing, I just wanted to see my sister.
"Kendra, please, tell him to let me through," I said raising my hands to hit him. But his strong arms stopped.
"Why? Why should he let you kara" she said, still standing behind him. At least I got to hear her voice. " So that you can kill me again?"
"Kendra what are you saying?" I said, my sobs getting louder. "I know what I did was wrong, but I swear it was an accident. You know I'll never hurt you on purpose"
"Let's not dwell on that kara. You made your choice and I made mine"
"Kendra!!" I screamed a bit too loud this time cuz within seconds the door was slammed open, revealing a young beautiful lady whom I'm guessing is the princess.
"Wow, wow, wow! No one informed me that I have guests" she said with an evil smirk. No kidding, she really is the princess. Everything about her screams evil. That's it, we are busted. I have messed this up. I couldn't control my emotions now the whole team will be in danger.
"Lilith" the prince gritted.
"Well, if it isn't the lover boy and his little girlfriend" she grinned staring at the prince and Kendra who was now standing beside him.
"What?" I asked trying to grasp what was going on.
"Oh well, and another special guest. Kara Covey" she said, "didn't your little sister inform you about her relationship? That's bad." she took a step closer to me.
"But don't take it personally, they have a habit of keeping secrets. Even I had to find out on my own. Sad isn't it?" This time she was moving towards her bed, making herself comfortable.
"Kendra, are you two…" I stopped halfway, noticing Kendra's hands hooked with The Prince's. Now it's all coming together. They have been in a relationship! That's why he carried her instead of the stone the other time. That's also the reason she stood by him and against me! I can't believe of all people, Kendra chose to be with the person that killed our mother.
"No, Kendra, this can't be true!" I yelled. I was crying harder than before.
"Believe it, sister, it'll be better for us all" she smirked.
"He killed our mother!"
"He's my mate!" she barked.
Is he really her mate? That means their feelings are true! I hope he isn't just using her
"Anyway Kara, did you perhaps, bring the stone of light to me since we are now in-laws in a way." I didn't let her words get to me. there's no way she considers us as in-laws. I doubt she even considers her brother family, not with the way they are glaring at each other.
Right now it is either we hand this Lilith princess girl the stone and die or we don't hand it to her and die. Both ways, I know there's no way she's going to let us leave alive.
I didn't know what to do or say next. The prince wasn't doing anything. No one was attacking or anything of that sort.
I turned to look at Heather who was now standing a few feet behind me. She gave me an approving nod, and also a sign to hold on. That means she has communicated with the team.
"Now come on ms Covey, hand me the stone!" Lilith said, still smirking. Although she sounded a bit pissed, she looked as composed as ever. I don't know what thoughts were running through her head. But one thing is clear, she doesn't let her feelings show. That's one thing she has in common with the prince.
"Oh, don't worry, if you don't want to give it, I don't mind. I'm not obsessed with it as my brother here, so I guess it's your luck" she walked up to me and grabbed my chin with her hands. The grip was so tight I swear for a moment I thought I was bleeding.
Just at the right time, the team barged in and the room instantly became a battlefield. It was us vs the princess, vs the prince and Kendra. The Prince's major target was his sister. While Kendra was more interested in attacking me.
With every other person, apart from Kendra attacking the princess, she was at the losing end. Though her wind element skills are great. She still couldn't keep up. The prince alone could handle her.
When the fight started getting really hot, and Lilith was almost at her end, she hurried to the side cupboard and brought out something.
It looked like a jewel, a stone, it is the color purple, and it was shiny and attractive.
I don't know if it was the stone or something else, but the prince stopped fighting immediately. Disgust flashing over his face, he ran to where Kendra and I were fighting and held her by the wrist, then disappeared.
I don't know if that was a cue for us to leave too, but the team members were so engrossed in the fight I don't think they even noticed the stone.
She held it high, above her head, and said from freaking weird words. Then the light started illuminating from the stone, covering the whole room with brightness. It was releasing some kind of magnetic force that seemed to be dragging us toward it.
Then Lilith also disappeared, leaving us alone in her room.
That was a fail. So much for ending the war before it starts.
"You!" Heather said, walking to me. She grabbed my hands so I could face her and then landed a slap on my face.
Heather just slapped me!
"This, this is all your fault!" She said angrily. "I told you to wait for the team didn't I? I asked you to stay quiet! But what did you do? You walked out of our hiding spot and exposed us! All for what? Your completely useless, ungrateful sister!"
"Don't say that about Kendra, I admit that I was wron…"
"No kara, when will you get it that your sister is a piece of shit! She's trying to kill you for heaven's sake!" she was yelling like hell.
"I'm sorry guys. I just saw Kendra and I couldn't help myself" I was really sorry, but then, how did they expect me to react after I just found out that my sister whom I thought I killed was alive the whole time? What was I supposed to do?
"Kara you should have known better. We would have gotten Lilith" Layla said disappointed.
"Let's get out of here before she comes back for us" Josh suggested.
"Meet you all outside the castle," max said.
Seconds later, we were still in Lilith's room.
"Are you guys going to teleport us out of here or what?" Layla asked, getting a bit impatient. She's the only witch amongst us, hence, she needs someone to teleport with her.
"I don't get it," Nathan said "I'm not able to."
"Same here bro," josh said.
"Me too" Max complained, and then it was Heather and then jasmine. The truth is, I didn't try to teleport, I was just hanging on to josh. Now that they are all complaining I tried and surprisingly, I couldn't also.
"What the heck?" Max said.
"We don't have time for this," Josh grumbled. "We'll have to leave through the door" we can get spotted anytime. But that is our only option. And since we were in exact uniforms with the guards, it won't be that easy to spot us.
"Let's go!" Layla said as if the princess would appear anytime soon. Well, she could, cuz it's her room!
Walking out through the front door was not easy at all! With all the guards staring at us as if they knew we were imposters. Maybe they do. But why didn't they catch us? Or stop us. Why did Lilith leave us in the room alone with enough time to escape in the first place?

We got out safely and kept a fair distance before stopping to take a break.
"Let's try now," Josh said. And there it was, we all started trying our possible best to teleport, but it just didn't work.
For some reason, I was feeling this odd emptiness inside me. Maybe I was the only one feeling that way, or maybe they all are, but just don't want to acknowledge it.
"Let's try something else" Nathan suggested.
Without waiting for any approval, we all started trying other powers, like mind linking and our elements. But nothing seemed to be working. Nothing!
Does this mean, we have lost our powers? Even Layla's witches' spells weren't working.
"I think I know what's wrong." Layla said, "that stone, it must be the reason we don't have our powers"
"Are you trying to say, she used it to take our powers?" Nathan asked.
No, no, no, this can't be!
It must have been the reason the prince took Kendra away amidst the fight. He must have known what his sister was up to. And we had no clue.
