Chapter 26 Guess the story
Elliot's POV
Lot slowly circled Liam, with the tongue in his hand, waiting for the first strike from him. Lot always did that. Liam was also playing safe and waiting for me to act. Since demons weren't nearly as patient as angels, especially not Lot, he attacked.
Lot sped and pounced on Liam. His mouth watered as he tried to use the weapon to remove Liam's eyeballs but Liam used his strength to push him backward as he jumped back on his feet.
Liam ran to Lot as two swords magically appeared in his hands. He pierced the swords through Lot's skin. Since Lot had no emotions he could not feel the pain but I was. I could feel my heart pumping out of my chest and my ribcage breaking.
Lot grabbed the swords from the sharp sides and broke them. I looked at my hands as blood spilled from them. This was the problem with Lot, because he couldn't feel a thing he would cause excessive damage to me.
Lot grabbed Liam by the shoulders, piercing his claws into them and using it to fling him into the sky but Liam stopped himself from flying too far by releasing his wings.
They were white, spotless, angelic, feathery and beautiful unworldly things. They were powerful and could fly him all the way to heaven. He flew a distance into the air as we watched from below, waiting for what he would do next.
He screamed as he flew with high speed into our direction with his hands stretched and his fists clenched to a punch.
Before we could act, the punch landed right on us. We were pushed below the earth as the effect of the blow made a gigantic dent on the land. I felt like I was already dead because a lot of pressure was impressed on me.
Lot quickly stood up, growing wings like the ones I did before.
Liam flew back into the sky and this time, we followed.

Lexa's POV
Waiting was difficult. Though I had just been there for thirty minutes it felt like years.
If I felt like that for thirty minutes, how did Elliot feel when he waited for me all those years. He really did love me and my love for him grew stronger everyday. I had to do something nice for Elliot to appreciate him but my main goal was to survive the wait and pray that the king of demons would win the fight over my life.
It was crazy to say because I was always taught back then that the Lord and the devil were constantly fighting to win us to their side. It depends on us to choose who we would follow and the Lord should always be everyone's choice because he only wanted well for us.
Whereas the devil only wanted to steal, kill and destroy.
There were so many things I didn't know about Elliot. The true story of the devil and Elliot was not connected at the slightest, I wanted to know. I had so many questions about it and being alone in the silence didn't help.
'You're not alone, Alexandra.'
I groaned. I knew it wasn't my mother but another angel that was trying to get me to come out. This was the third angel trying. I wouldn't listen to anything.
"Leave me alone! Why do you keep on trying anyway?! Can't you just give up?!!" I was frustrated but at least I could talk without feeling like I was crazy.
'One shall not give up but should try till he wins.'
I walked up the window to check on the new angel around. When I got there, I was surprised to see a little boy. He wore a white robe and had the most beautiful smile on. His hair was colour white and his skin was perfect.
"I am..."
I cut in. "I really don't want to know your name. Can you just return from where you came from?"
He bowed his head. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you didn't want company, Angel Alexandra."
"Don't call me that!"
He looked confused. "Why?"
"Because I'm not an angel."
He shook his head, like he was pitying me. "Thou shall not lie."
I snickered. "Don't even think about using the bible against me, young angel."
He puffed out his lips, trying to get something out of me. "But I'm not young, we are equals. Don't you remember the day we were born? We're like siblings!"
And things were just getting weirder. "I don't remember having an angel as a brother?
"We were. We used to play together back up there. Your favourite game was guess the story."
I didn't believe the young boy could harm or do anything to get me out so I moved closer and rested my shoulders on the window while avoiding the extra sharp broken pieces of glass.
"How do you play that one?"
The mere name of the game provoked me, I couldn't resist.
"We look down to earth and choose a person then we try to guess what the person's story will be."
I analysed what he said. "Like the person's destiny?"
"Exactly! You remember!"
"Not quite but it does sound familiar."
"You always won me in the game." He pouted, looking sad.
I laughed at his face expression. The young angel had a way of getting to me. I was curious to know more about heaven. Besides, I had nothing better to do.
"Tell me more."

Elliot's POV
Liam tried again to cut one of my wings off but Lot dodged it and bit him in the hand. He freed his hand but two of his fingers were cut off. They grew back in no time as he attacked again.
You would think it was stupid for anyone to say that thunder occurs when two angels fight. The person who said so was half right.
The fight was going nowhere because Lot couldn't pierce the tongue in his heart. Only then would Liam be sent back to where he came from and not ever returning.
Dark and fair thunder clouds surrounded us as Lot did his very best to eliminate him but more or less we were getting no where. Something different had to happen.

Lexa's POV
I couldn't stop laughing after the funny story of us that Elvador had finished narrating.
"Heaven is really a happy place," I said after I could regain my speech from all the laughing.
"It is! There's no sadness, pain or trouble. Happiness all day long."
I was getting carried away but I got back into my senses. "Advertising it to me won't change my decision."
His happy face turned gloomy. "I feel sad about it. We miss you up there. Even the Lord wants you back, you have to come back Alexandra." I didn't say anything but turned away. "Don't turn from the Lord, he wants you to return to his kingdom."
I gulped. "I'm sorry, Elvador."
He stepped back and sat on the floor. He packed up stones and started to play with them. I got curious when he didn't seem to stop so I checked on him.
"What's that?"
"You have always been so curious. I am trying to build a sandcastle." I laughed at his complete innocence. "I've heard much about it from up and I would like to make one."
"You need beach sand to do that."
He shook his head. "Then I'll make a rock castle. Like the one you're in."
I raised a brow. "This is a stone cottage."
"Do you like being in there?" he asked without giving me eye contact.
"Not really. It's cold and creepy but I don't have a choice."
He smiled and looked up to me. "Do you know why the Lord placed the tree of good and evil in the garden of Eden?"
I always wondered why. "Why did He?"
"Because he wanted to give them the power to choose. There is always a second choice but sometimes you don't know it, you don't trust it or you don't count it as one. You have a choice Alexandra, you always will."
He continued building his castle. I watched his closely as he smiled happily while putting the stones together.
'I always have a choice?'
I wanted to reply when we both heard a snarl from our left side in the black bushes. It was sudden and that fact made my heart leap. Elvador stood up in fear as he turned to the animal.
Out came a big black wolf with thick black fur and sharp deadly teeth. It looks hungry as its eyes focused on little Elvador.
Elvador tried to disappear to escape the wolf but his powers weren't working and he looked even more worried.
The wolf slowly moved closer to him, waiting for the right time to pounce on his prey.
"Elvador, get out of here!"
Ever since Elvador reached earth he had felt new emotions like fear, pain and sadness and he couldn't comprehend them.
"I-I-I can't! It will kill me!"
"No, you have to leave!"
"B-b-but..."
The wolf ran to him to devour him but I screamed, waving my hands in the air. It seemed like life paused for a second as I did that. The cottage broke down in pieces. The wolf hesitated and stepped back from Elvador. I walked out of the ruins I had made from the cottage and pushed my hands forward, towards the wolf and it... vanished.
I had no idea what came into me but I couldn't let Elvador get hurt because of my ego. I then realized that it wasn't only my ego stopping me, my protection was put down. My angelic and pure heart got the best of me.
"Elvador, are you alright?"
He was shaking in fair and cold. I removed the coat I was wearing and wore it round him to warm him up.
"Y-y-yes," he managed to say.
"What happened back there?"
He looked into the direction of where the wolf once was before looking back at me. "I don't know but I was very scared."
"Why didn't you disappear?"
"I couldn't control..."
Before he finished his statement, the glow that every angel had returned to Elvador. That meant that he had regained his powers and it also meant that everything was...
"It's a trick!" I stood up in anger and Elvador followed in doing do.
"I-I had no idea. I was clueless." Of course, it was God doing this. I was exposed to the angels and... Liam. Elvador suddenly started to vanish but he didn't look like he wanted to go. He said some last words before he was completely out of sight. "I will see you in heaven. Will you come?"
That question had many answers and I hadn't 'chosen' one yet.
I was left in the forest, exposed to everything. I had a bad feeling about that and I had to hide.

Elliot's POV
Lot held his neck, trying to snap it but Liam cut off one of his hands which sent him aback while still in air.
Lot went in for another strike but Liam flew higher above him and paused for two seconds, like he had just realized something.
He summoned a golden chain. I knew what that was and I had to get away from it. Lot flew into the forest, trying his best to escape Liam and the golden chain but somehow he cut us in front and threw the chain right at us.
The chain twirled round Lot and with no control over our wings, we dropped to the floor and landed hard on our kneels.
Liam flew down with comfort and walked towards us as we tried to free ourselves from the grip of the golden chain. "You can't escape it, Elliot. Alexandra is out. It is time to take her back."
No, it couldn't be. "She will never come out! I told her not to."
"She's out and she's returning. I have to go, devil."
"Stay right there! Don't go anywhere near her!!!"
"Goodbye."
With that, he took to the skies and disappeared out of sight. I didn't believe it. Why would she come out? Something must have happened but I had to get out of the golden chain. It was made specially to keep demons for as long as they were timed. It was almost impossible to escape from one.
I had to get out because Alexa didn't know what was coming for her. She was in danger.Download Novelah App
