"Bry you are late," my mom (Cathay Knight) said as I entered the living room of my parents' house
"I'm sorry mother, I lost track of time," I said kissing her cheeks. And pop beside Natalie who was on the phone with a magazine in her hands. I snatch her phone and hang up
"what the he-l! BB why did you hang up the call? I was talking to my designer he was setting up my new art gallery," she said glaring at me, well BB means Bryson Bro.
I ignore her and leave.
"you are late my boy," uncle Sebastian said as I entered the backyard
"Hello, uncle Seb, aunt Rose, and Dad sorry for being 5 minutes late but where are the others? I only see Nati in the living room," I said sitting beside dad.
"Helen and Zach are helping your mom and Xavi call us about getting la-"
"here I'm mom," Xavier cut aunt Rose by entering the backyard with Natalie behind him "Is it true Zach is helping Aunt Cat? If it is then I think we need backup," he kisses aunt Rose's cheek while sitting beside her
"Don't say that, he's your brother," Aunt Rose said
"not to forget 'foodie playboy billionaire'," Natalie said sarcastically while sitting beside uncle Sebastian
"that harsh princess," uncle Sebastian said kissing her forehead
"Harsh but-"
"-true," Helen said entering the backyard. "if you guys take more time, we surely need backup," going back in
We enter the dining room and see Zach has already started eating. We all look at each other before digging in.
"So can you guys tell us why you guys call us?" I ask while eating the best mozzarella sticks which is my mom's signature dish.
"I have the same question," Xavier said
"me too," Zach said with a mouth full of mashed potatoes
"Me three," Natalie said taking a sip of water
We turned to Helen and she muttered "me four,"
Dad clears his throat before speaking "you guys are K's, And I want you all to get married before the end of this year,"
"-except Natalie," Uncle Sebastian added
"yeah except Natalie because she will turn 23 this year, and you and Zach have time till the end of this year to find a girl But Xavi and Helen you are older and your time for choosing your own partners is finished and we are going to arrange a marriage for both of you, we have already started finding a bride and groom, we have sorted some in our list li-" Dad cut by Helen
"-Hold on! Hold on! what do you say, dad? finding groom really I'm just 27 an-" Helen cut by Xavier
"-I'm 26 and a bride this is ridiculous-" Xavier cut by Zach who left his food a big shocking thing.
"-I love my bachelor life! how yo-" I cut him
"-you know our past why are you guys saying this, the-"
"SHUT UP!" uncle Sebastian shouted, "first listen to us completely,"
"no after dinner," Aunt Rose said giving Dad and Uncle Sebastian a hard look. "we will talk about it,"
K's means we five, Helen, Xavier, Me, Zachary, and Natalie. It is our surname initial 'K'. Helen and I are Knight and Xavier, Zachary, and Natalie are King.
Our dads join their family businesses after finishing college naming it 'K'&K Together' and our moms opened helping centers under the name 'K's Helping Centers' as they got married and dad and uncle Sebastian support them to open the Helping Centers which was actually my mother dream.
At the age of 18 we take over helping centers and at 21 we take over our businesses. Last year on Natalie's 22nd Birthday we joined everything together and named it 'K's Together' that's how we are known as K's together
When I was 12 years old and became lonely because she left me and Helen spends most of her time alone locking herself, King's family decides to move back to New York from Chicago, which helps a lot, and Xavier and Zach become my close friends. King's help us a lot when our family was going through rough days. Uncle Sebastian had to look after the whole business alone. After a year we overcome our grief we went back to normal, and now our businesses come under one of the best multi-corporations in the world.
We all work together, and divide our work into different categories. That's what we are and that's how we work.

"so as we said earlier we want you all to get married because we want to see you guys happy, we know arranged marriage or forced marriage are not the right solutions that's why we tell you guys to choose your own love partners, we have been saying this since you guys entered high school," Uncle Sebastian started, we all listen patiently because we all know whatever he is saying is true, we all are now sitting in the leaving room together, after an awkward dinner.
"We know you all try your best to find your partners. Some of you found but... we want you all to move on from your past. We are counting years and months, seeing you grieving at your past and not thinking about your future," dad said. I can feel he doesn't want to say this but he is saying it for the sake of our happiness.
"Helen it's been 2 years since he left, I want you to move on, please for us to move on from him, he won't come back and he was not the best person," mom said taking Helen's hands.
"Mom, I'm leaving for Italy tomorrow at 6 AM for our new hotel project. I won't be back for 6 months. Can we talk about my marriage after I come back please?" Helen asks emotionally, looking into mom and dad's eyes hopefully.
First, my mom was in shock because Helen Sis never left for this long but mom hesitantly nodded.
"fine then you are going with your new bodyguard," dad said and from the corner of my eyes, I saw Uncle Sebastian holding back his smile.
"New bodyguard? What about Matt? He is the most trusted bodyguard and whenever I go out of New York he accompanies me?" Helen asks confusingly
"yeah but Arial is pregnant with their second child and her due date is after 4 months. I don't want him to back forth between Italy and New York." dad said simply, Arial is Matthew's wife and Matthew was Helen's old bodyguard.
"oh! But who is this new bodyguard? Did you trust him with me?" she asks
"yes I trust him, he is an ex-navy officer and Matt's close friend. I will text him to meet you at the airport tomorrow, okay?" dad asks.
"yeah whatever makes you comfortable," she said, resting her head on mom's shoulder "can I go, I have to finish packing for the business trip," saying that she stands up, and we follow her saying goodbye and wishing her a safe journey.
She whispers 'All the best,' when we group hug her.
"yeah we need it," Zach said rolling his eyes, while Natalie giggle
"I love you sis come back soon," I said kissing her forehead
"love you too don't miss me too much, take care of mom, dad and find her soon I don't want them to force marriage on you, Okay my little bro," she said sweetly kissing my cheeks where I nodded
She hugs mom and dad saying not to worry, Mom like always, cried and dad was looking at uncle Sebastian with a satisfying smirk!? What is his mind? I'm 100% sure something is going on between these two but what?
When she left I looked at Xavier and Zach with a knowing look
"I think it's getting late we shou-"
"No, we haven't finished talking, back to your seats," uncle Sebastian said in a commanding tone cutting Xavier. We all groaned together while sitting back again
"Now you Xavier, it's been a year, we don't know what happened between you two but we know you both messed up. We are not asking but telling you to find her because we know you have true feelings for her. If you don't find her then, At the charity ball which is after 3 months in New Jersey, we will introduce you to some girls you can choose your bride among them is that clear," uncle Sebastian said in one breath. I still think about where he gets this much stamina
"I know dad, I want to find her and want my answer from her, if I did something wrong I want to apologize to her and tell her that she was the first person I fell in love with and those 7 days were the best days of my life... I.. just want her to give me the reason why she didn't come back after promising me and I want to bring her back into my life..... I don't want to talk about any other girls. We will see what happens after 3 months," saying this Xavier left the room and Natalie followed him saying goodbye to us.
"We all know his wounds are still fresh why do you guys want him to move on, I still don't understand!" Zach said standing up angrily he hates to see Xavier like this but I still feel something is wrong with Zach "It's late I'm going back thank you for the amazing dinner aunt Cat," saying that he also started to leave but stopped when aunt Rose said:
"Not every girl is like her, you should move on too," she said softly. Zach turns and says
"I give up trusting girls after what she did to me," saying this, he also left, leaving me alone with elders. They turn to me with a sad expression. No one says a word, there was a thick tension in the room
"you know they didn't mean to disrespect you all," I said breaking the silence
"We know we just want you all to move on from your past and start living happily, you are the only one who wants to mo-" uncle Sebastian started
"-who said I want to move on? I don't think after her I will ever love someone," I cut him
"you know it's being 14 ye-" mom started
"13 years 4 month-" I cut her then dad cut me
"whatever son your wounds are old you can move on, you were only 12 when she left, you don't even know that whatever you feel was love," dad said annoyingly but his eyes said something else.
He knows how much I love her!
"I know but please give me this year if I don't find her I will try to move on, I promise," I said, insisting on the word 'try' before leaving.
"I know she was my love and now she is my lost love, and one day I will find her," I said to myself looking at the sky.
