I crashed out on the couch. They guys laid scattered across the floor. I wake up and Harry is still working on a song. He seemed really into whatever it was he was working on. I decide not to bother him. I walk into the kitchen and put a pot of coffee to start. Not to long, the pot starts to fill up with the dark liquid. I pour four cups of coffee. I take them to the living room. I place each on the table. I gently kick each of the guys awake. "Five more minutes mum." Niall whines turning over. I laugh. "Get up." Harry is still busy at work. I wonder what it was he was working on, that had captivated his attention. I run up and shower to come back to see the guys barely waking up. Harry still writing away. The pencil in his hand flying across the paper. He had a hard look on his face, he furrowed his brow. I walk up behind his seat and sat on the right arm of the couch. "Don't work yourself to hard Harry. What ever you guys write will be perfect." He looks up. "Thats it! Thanks babe." He kisses my forehead and continues away. "Better not be writing any breakup songs." I poke his side and leave. "Yes Jade because that's all we write." Louis winked at me. He sat by Harry and helped him with the song he was working on. My phone buzzes notifying me of a text. It's management. Great. Do you mind coming to the office? There are a few things we need to discuss. They are urgent. It would be best to discuss the matter earlier than later. Please come alone. I leave immediately unnoticed, leaving the busy bees to their work. I drive to the office. It must be important because Simon asked nicely and he's never done that. "I'm here to see Simon." I tell the blonde receptionist. She still struggled to look at me. Had what I said been that bad? I didn't mean it. It just slipped out. "Go right on in Ms. Hart." She says finding her desk very interesting. "I'm sorry for what I said that day. I didn't mean it. I hope there are no hard feelings." I say walking past her. I knock on the door and enter. I take a seat on the chair in front of his desk. He spins his chair around so he is facing me. "There is the girl of the hour." He says proudly. "I thought you didn't like me." I said raising an eyebrow at him. I personally couldn't stand him. The only reason he could stand me was because of what I do for Harry. Other than that he wouldn't even say a word to me, let alone know I existed. Funny how things work. All I really wanted to know is why did he call me here. "I don't like you, but I do like what you did. And I do think you deserve some praise for it." Isn't he just sweet. He sure knows how to make a girl feel special. "Can I ask why you called me here? Or can I just leave?" I say. "You just like to get straight down to business, don't you?" I shrug my shoulders. Why else would I be here? I don't enjoying being here with him when I could be home with the guys. "I'm just curious to why you asked me to specifically come alone, that's all." I batt my eyelashes innocently. "Right, well it's to discuss the work you have been doing for us." "Alright continue, I'm bored out of my mind already." I groan throwing my head back. "Hmm. I appreciate the improvement you have made on Harry." "Why do I feel like there is a 'but' after that?" I sigh. I've heard a lot in my twenty years and I know there is something more on his mind. "Because there is one, I appreciate it, but I feel as though you are too much of a distraction." Here we go. "How so?" I lean in closer. He has grasped my full attention. "They seem to be more interested in having fun and goofing around instead of working. That is what they are paid to do. Not keep you entertained." "Excuse me. Again blaming me. If you would loosen the leash you have on them maybe they wouldn't be disobeying your commands so much." I snap. "There is nothing wrong with having a little fun." "No there isn't. There is a problem with l you though. You are the influence on them. You make them forget that this is not a game. This is a career, a job, and it's what gets them paid. Have you no consideration?" "I didn't realize I was such a problem in their lives. From where I'm sitting it seems as though you are the issue. If I recall you hired me remember. They seem to be doing fine with me here." "Yes, I don't regret that. Do I wish that it could have been someone else, anyone else? Yes." "So what are you trying to tell me? I know there is more and that is not why you called me here." What is he hiding? I wish he would just get on with it. "Right you are. See you are smart if only you would put that brain of yours to good use. I need you to do another job for me." "Another job? I can see you didn't get the brains. I don't like working for you. The last time wasn't even voluntarily. What makes you think I'll agree?" I scoff. "I don't think you will have much of a chose." "Try me?" I test. "I would like you to move out of the One Direction flat. I would like you to move on with your life. Break up with Harry and forget you ever met or had any connection with One Direction." Is he serious. The color in my face is drained. I hope he isn't serious. I pray he isn't. "Why? Why would you do that to me? Most importantly to them?" My heart is pounding. The thought of leaving terrified me. "It's not for them, but for you." I'm confused, but I couldn't focus on that. It felt like someone was pulling my heart out of my chest. "How on this bloody fucked up world is this for me?" I snap. "Right now you are the most hated woman by Thomas Cooper. He will try to seek vengeance. He will be after you and your story. I can't have that near One Direction, especially since they are barely recovering from his last story." "So this isn't about me it's about them." I roll my eye and cross my arms over my chest. "Part of it. I do want to help you. I will get you a stable job, a place to stay and more importantly a new life. Everything will be provided and payed by us. All you need to do is tell us you agree and where you would like to live." "What if I still don't agree?" I ask. "You will because I'm willing to help you out. I'm giving you this offer and I suggest you take it. I told you we will watch out for you, as long as you do as you are told. Mr. Cooper will not come near you or the past you try to hide." "What if I accidentally run into them?" Is all I say. Am I really considering this? My past needs to stay where it is, in the past. I don't need people to know. "We will notify you of their locations when they leave so that you stay far from it." "Why should I agree?" I couldn't believe my ears. My mind is spiraling. "I know it doesn't seem like you are helping them. I know you really care about them and vice-versa. I know without a doubt you will agree if it's for their sake. Plus I'll make you a deal. Stay away and I'll make sure your privacy and past remains a secret. Think of it as a new beginning." My face fell. I look at my palms and fingers. They became very interesting. Everything was flying in circles around my brain. I just couldn't wrap my head around it. I do care for them all so much, if this will help them, I should agree right? I sigh. "When do I have to be out?" "As soon as possible, tomorrow morning would be preferred." "No I'll leave tonight, before I have a change of mind." Mind. Mind not heart. My heart is telling me no but my mind is saying yes. "Excellent. It's been a pleasure working with you Ms. Hart." I shrug him off and walk out the door. I let my feet lead me. My mind was still fogged up. How will I leave? What will I tell them? What will I tell Harry? Oh Harry. I get in my car and drive off. I'm not sure where I'm going. All I now is that I can't go back home. Home. It was no longer my home. I can't help the tears running down my face. I have to pull myself together. I pull over into the nearest parking lot. I could no longer see. My vision blurred from my tears. I look up from behind me steering wheel. I'm at a bar. The lights, flickered open. The N light had died out. I open my car door. I can smell the booze from here. Drunks stumbling out of the building. Reminding me of my father. My feet move faster than my mind. I push through the door into the building. I see a stool at the bar. What am I doing? Do I really want to do this? Yes. I have too. I need too.
