"Spending time with Nisha," Doula said solemnly. "You may now take your leave." He said pointing to the door. Both Nisha and Doula were surprised by this. "What is wrong with uncle?" She asked herself. Nevertheless, she got up and walked towards the door. "Why do you want her to leave?" Nisha asked but her uncle didn't answer. "I am tired." He said walking to his room. Doula sighed waving Nisha. "Do not worry." She said. "Uncle is having a hard time." Nisha nodded, waving to Doula, and walked to the chair where she had sat. Minutes later, Mr. Claus walked out of his room, touching Nisha's hair, but Nisha, who was angry, didn't move a bit. "Nisha!" He called walking to sit on another couch but she didn't answer. Nevertheless he kept speaking not minding the upset Nisha. "Doula's birthday is coming up next two months..." He was saying when Nisha joyfully spoke up. "Her birthday, wow, I'm all ears."She said. Mr. Claus sighed looking at Nisha. "I would like to pour out my heart to you." He said and she nodded. "What is it?" She asked and he took a deep breath looking at her. "Apart from me trying to plan a birthday surprise for Doula...." He paused, "I have fallen deeply in love with her." This rang a bell in Nisha's ears, and she didn't know what to say or do. "You... don't..." She stammered. Mr. Claus, who understood what she meant, closed her eyes. "I do mean it." He said. "You now see the reason I don't invite her here." Nisha nodded closing her eyes. "Yes sir." She said. Mr. Claus took out his handkerchief and used it to clean the sweat on his face. They had the air conditioner turned on, but in times when he feels nervous, beads of sweat always form his face. "Anyway, let's discuss about her birthday." He said. Nisha could not say anything else but only stare at him. She has never heard of such before where an uncle will love his niece. Is that the reason he chose not to get married since his wife died? Did he like Doula even when she was alive? Mr. Claus, who had been talking for minutes, noticed that Nisha wasn't paying attention to what he was saying. "Nisha!" He called. "Yes, Mr. Claus." She said immediately. "What are you thinking of?" He asked her but she didn't answer. He remembered what he had told her and began laughing. "Well, take that off your mind." He said. "I do not plan on having anything to do with my niece." Nisha took a deep breath nodding. "What were you saying?" She asked him. "I asked what you would like to gift Doula." He said. Nisha sighed looking at him. "I do not have money with me." She said. "I know that, which is the reason I would like to know what you would like to gift her." He said. She thought for a while and then smiled. "A Barbie doll and dress." She said and he laughed. "Really!" He exclaimed. "Alright, that's from you." He could see her look away, but that was the least of his worries. His house help walked to him, asking him what he would like to have. "No not worry about me." He said. She looked at Nisha, who told her that a fried plantain would be better. "I have seen that you don't eat well, why is that?" She asked. "Well, I am watching my diet." He said and she nodded. Doula chose not to go to her house earlier but walked to a store in other to get something. Entering the store, she met two people discussing about the witch. "I don't know how this happened." One of them said. "A lady was banished from our community because she wore a face that made Kailua look like a witch. Now another is back acting worse than the previous witch." "She should be burnt alive." He said. Doula shook her head as she wondered for what reason the people would want to make use of Kailua's face. "I will go to the cathedral tomorrow." She said to herself. "I am surely going to pray for Kailua." When she was done buying all she needed, she turned to leave and a thought rushed through her. "What if she has been killed by the evil ones and they are using her face to penetrate their evil act." She thought. She walked out of the store and hailed down a vehicle, which stopped, and she climbed on. Getting to her house, she got out of the vehicle and paid for the ride. She looked around as the house reminded her of Kailua. "Kailua, how I miss you." She said. She had the idea of calling Kailua before the day ran out. She had also chosen for herself a perfect gown to wear for her date with her boss the next day. "I have never been on a real date with a guy." She said. She had always gone on a date with Kailua to see guys. She hadn't gone alone, so she needed to compose herself. She walked into the house, shutting the door behind her then walked to the couch. "I will be having a date tomorrow and it's not with an ordinary guy but with my boss." She said to herself. "I need to practice what our date will be like." She remembered their conversation at the funfair center. "He is cuter than Mr. Dose." She said. "Whereas, he doesn't look like a happy man." Her eyes traveled to the flower vase by the door side. "I will cherish this gift from him like no other." She said to herself. She took out a book and began to draft her plan for the next day. She was going to the cathedral early in the morning before going to work, and then she would close from work early so as to prepare for her date with Dala. "I going to try looking so cute to Mr. Dala." She said to herself.
