“Take me to him, Take me to this imposter!“ Ben commanded Kyke after he had showed him the pictures in his phone.
“Of course, I will!“ He assured him.
He checked the time on his wrist And took a deep breath, feeling Ben's so he could teleport together to meet him. He opened his eyes and they appeared at an office, an exotic office made of glass, it has a separate small bedroom in it, used for taking a nap.
“Where is this place?“ Ben asked, glancing around at the room that spelt richness.
“His office!“
“Wow, I wanted to meet him but I met his richness instead!“
“Okay, there he is standing behind his office desk,'' Kyle said as they walked towards him. He is standing at the glass wall staring at the city outside when he feels a weird atmosphere change, is Kyle here? He thought then turned his back.
“Kyle!“ He called before grabbing him into a hug.
“Oh you came with a friend!“ Cole said to him, referring to Ben that was standing beside him.
“This is grandpa Ben!“ Kyle announced
“Oh my God you found him, I know you will, I'm so proud of you!“ He said with a smile as he pats his back.
“Enough with all that, where is Larry my real son?“ Ben asked as he walked to the glass wall Cole was a few minutes ago.
“Ahh ahha!“ He jumped as he screamed at the sight in front of him. And both Cole and Kyle stared at him in confusion.
“How tall is this place?“ He asked with an unstable breath
“90 feet tall?“ Cole said more like a question
“90 feet tall! And you are comfortable, aren't scared of the building falling?“
“You are scared of heights?“ Kyle voiced out
“No, I'm not, I've been on Paul staff for so many times I can't remember, I can't remember being scared of height” he said remembering how he uses to be scared when ever he is on Paul's staff and it shot above the earth, he always grits his teeth together and banned himself from looking down at the surface of earth, he is scared of height and he is afraid of admitting it.
He walked towards the Cole desk and sat on his office chair twirling it around.
“So you are scared of heights?“ Kyle tease
“Why would I be scared of heights?“
“Because you are actually scared of it!“
“Erm, it's enough, now tuxedo man tell me where Larry is!“ He said to Cole.
“He is dead!“
“What!“ Ben screamed
“Who killed him? You did?“
“I didn't kill Larry, he died of health complications. He had cancer.“
“That's impossible”
“That is what the doctor said, but I know that wasn't what killed him, somehow it's cancer, but I can't risk an autopsy either because I don't know how you guys are wired and I can't risk an autopsy, what if the doctor finds out the secret? Kyle will be hunted, the other Elvers will be hunted too, even though I didn't know if they are real!“
He sighed then began narrating. “We met when I was a homeless 17 year old kid, then he saved me from getting crushed by a vehicle. That was the first time we met and that was the first time he showed me his powers.
“I thought it was a miracle who saved me from being crushed from the truck, because after he had got me to safety he disappeared, I can't see him again. And then another day came. After coming back from work, I was a pizza delivery guy. I deliver pizza to people's homes using the company I work for bikes. I was going to my usual spot where I always sleep when I was cornered by some wanna-be thug, who tried to rob me. I emphasize on tried, because Larry came to save the day and in his words he said 'why does trouble always come for you?' I don't know too I replied him, and that was when he told me his name was Larry.“
“Then we became best friends growing up. We fought a lot of obstacles together, Larry can be mischievous too.“ He smiled.
“Then he told me about this company he wanted to build, a transportation company, because he has the power to teleport so he thought of using his ability to solve the human transportation problem, then he narrated the whole Anetta, Uncle Ben the light bearer to me, trust me I thought it was a fairytale even after he had showed me his powers.
“We started by building a delivery transportation company that deliver within a minutes of order, we worked with a lot of companies who need delivery transportation, once they got an order and had packaged it for us to deliver, we'll drive in full speed away from the company to an enclosed building then with the aid of Google map we check what the building looks like and he will teleport us right to the destination.
And with that we started having more customers and we delivered on time, within a month of starting the business, voila! We were able to rent our own apartment, and within a year we built this company you guys are at now.
When the business keeps expanding we build our own delivery car, bikes and bicycles. In this very office, Larry will teleport to different locations disguised, because he was the CEO and it would be weird for the CEO doing the delivery. As time went on, we were able to attract some enemies as well as some well wishers just that the enemies are much more than the well wishers.
During a conference meeting with some partners and competitors he was poisoned, the poison didn't act immediately instead it slowly spread throughout his body, before we could even know.“ He paused as he stared at the faces of his listeners
“Then he died, leaving Kyle growing in his mother's womb, who died also seconds after giving birth to Kyle, it wasn't until three years later, that I found out who did it, the person who killed him, apparently those who conspired to kill him thought their business will grow and overcome our company of they kill Larry, but unfortunately for them, our company good image is still intact. they fought because of the misunderstanding, and they unknowingly spill their secrets, I got them arrested and was charge for murder, but they denied all the charge, but later admit, but the judge stick to get an autopsy done for Larry, to see if he really died of food poisoning, I couldn't risk that, so I declined that suggestion.
“Anyway, they are found guilty for conspiracy and attempt murder of Larry and was sent to prison, but I wasn't satisfied I sworn to revenge his death!“
“What did you do?“ Ben asked
“I killed them, I disguised to the prison they were held captive and killed them!“
