Chapter 30. Whimsical Nuisance

Lucretius' Point of View
Allowing the sweep of the wet breeze to touch me, I shutted my sight into full darkness. One that I could address as what people call a favorite. For it bestows me with silence, peace, reality, and reassurance. Of something I, myself, am not certain.
Slowly recollecting Miss Myint's words before, I felt a strike of quick laughter form inside me. 'Even if you're the ancient era's lord, right now, you are the modern era's idiot.' Perhaps she was right. I am what today's world addresses as an idiot. Yet for me, I was stuck in the middle of the era, being pulled between ancient and modern. And being a royal and high positioned on both doubled my sorrow, my power, my responsibility, and my predicaments. So great that a normal person couldn't comprehend any of it. And I doubt Miss Myint isn't one of those. Her whimsical antics proved as well. However, she, being completely created and accustomed to the modern era, doesn't mean she has no greatness in her at all. In fact, I found her flair remarks concerning yet comical. She has this natural atmosphere that lures me into joyous conversation with her. It's as if she is one of the most hailed natural comedians of all time. Not even tr-
The weak knock on my door drifted away from my thoughts. I remained still to hear what it was that they had to say. As I am aware, I don't miss Myint, judging from the respectfulness of the knock. That's why I made no rush to tend to it.
After a stride of silence, he finally spoke. "Master, I have your lunch." He informed.
I allowed half of my eyes to open before I acknowledged him. Remembering just how I wasn't offended by the far different manner of knocking Miss Myint has.
"Miss Esmeralda extends her apology for what happened, master. She cooked this in return." Alejandro stated calmly while I heard the clatter of the tray being placed at my table. I sensed him glancing pitifully before continuing. "The men reported that they didn't find any particular document anywhere in your grandfather's old basement, master." I could discern his bulky disappointment combined with his old husky voice. It's as if he is the one concerned about the search rather than me. A trait I have been treating as his invisible friend.
"And the companies?" I inquired, reassuring him that his information isn't to be fretted about. Since what I have presumed as the result was proven by his report.
"They...." I could sense his vivid hesitancy and waited until he could fight it off. "are wishing for you to go back, master." He added after a few minutes.
I nodded but didn't utter a word. As I get up, I take in the cleaned flooring that was somewhat more uncomfortable than before. The clear shine of crystal on display with many gemstones seasoned inside it came into full view. It felt nerving to step into it. I could sense Alejandro was as silently astonished as I.
I strode straight to my food. Feeling a pang of hunger as my supposed lunch was spilled. I could feel my mouth curling up at how it was just the same as the served food before.
'Is Miss Myint sarcastically pinpointing something in this so-called apology?'
As I lifted my food, Alejandro spoke. "I.." He muttered yet allowing some silence before continuing. I could only surmise it as his quarrel with his own hesitancy. "Thank goodness you let the dust leave the floor master." He finally added.
I gave another nod. Feeling the need to acknowledge his comment. He then bowed and left after that. I consumed my food while outlining where our search for that document should be. After I was done, the oldest maid came to take it back. I should say, the maids must have made Miss Myint feel guilty about her actions that she seemed to have no strength in returning here.
'How pitiful of her.'
The hours came as if they were running and the blue-painted sky went dark with small twinkling stars everywhere, yet the moon, the only satellite that gives me hope at night, was absent. Soon, my dinner came, yet I rejected it as the absence of the moon caused me to hear my mother's feeble whispers, resounding everywhere in my room. So feeble yet never-ending that I again tried inscribing them but was met with the same results. One long simple sentence that if I hadn't heard her saying in person, I would've thought of it as a riddle.
I was lulled into sleep by those repeatedly soft words. And when I gained consciousness into my dark slumber, I forced my body to run, run anywhere until I saw my escape. The low-hanging moon emitted cooled light. After a decade of running for it, trying to reach and feel its surface, it finally faded as it was defeated by the warm energy of the ascending sun. Its rays blocked my eyesight, so I looked down and there it was. The one I've always longed to see after many years.
The heavenly sight of my lovely mother gently picking some flowers, slowly putting them in her basket hung in her arm while dancing with the rays of her favorite sunshine. Singing and welcoming the sun with her graceful gestures and smiles. Then pouted as she looked back at me, quickly waving her hands here and there to invite me. I gave her a knowing grin and waved, declining her invite as I planned only on admiring her from afar. It wasn't until a monster, that man, suddenly appeared somewhere in the flower garden that my ear-to-ear smile instantly faded. Feeling the urge to save my mother, I stood and ran towards her with all my might. Only to arrive at nothing but a basket full of wilting flowers.'
I turned, and turned and turned. Yet even if I circled my longing eyes at the whole garden a thousand times, nothing appeared. And only the strong gust of gloomy wind reminded me that I am just alone. I lowered my head but this time, I tried opening my mouth, as well as finding my voice. As I begin to form a word, my voice seemed to be stuck as I could hear nothi-
"Hey, Mr. Lucretius! Don't tell me you're still sleeping!? It's already midday!" I was instantly awakened as the familiar shouts reached my eardrums. If I am grateful for something this morning, it would be the door being so sturdy despite my boisterous therapist's metal hand.
Realizing the words she sang aloud, I glanced at my clock. Only to see that it is just beginning for the sun to wake up and for the absent moon to fade.
"Is there a problem Miss Myint?" I asked, wanting to know the reason for her sudden outburst at such an early stage of another enthusiasm missing day. I ran my hand at my hair as I opened my door, not wanting to further aggravate my door and my therapist. "What is it that you-" I paused as my eyes flickered to the cleaning tools she literally carried in a sack behind her.
"Finally!" She grumbled. "The ancient lord has woken up! Now, will you be a gentleman and not AN idiot in this modern era so I could clean your room? For if you must know, dirt is very lethal nowadays!" She started taking small steps inside as she told her reason.
Causing me a strike of fleeting laughter. "What if I refused my modern servant? Will I then succumb to my grave?"
Her steps halt. " That's right idiot," she remarked while sending daggers in her eyes.
I intend to block her yet she was quick to shove me. "Move aside. I want to start now as your room's going to take me ages to finish." She firmly assessed as she triumphantly entered my room.
'How my morning is ruined.'
