The day already breaking, Beavis walked out of the studio along with Molly..., “We did pretty great together in there” he said, with a smile. “How about we have dinner together? huh?”
“We couldn't possibly impose,” said Molly.
“You wouldn’t, and we could use the extra help anyway” replied Beavis, shrugging slightly.
Molly smiled and agreed. The three of them made their way to the nearest restaurant and ordered a table. “Are you ok eating in front of strangers?” Beavis asked.
“Not when we have a beautiful lady next to me”, said Gideon, causing Molly to blush lightly and turn away.
“Is this true Molly? Are you gorgeous?”
Beavis teased.
Molly blushed more. “Shut up”
Gideon chuckled softly. “Don’t worry, she likes it”.
Beavis laughed. “I hope so”
A few minutes later, their food arrived. The three talked about random things until they finished eating.
“Where to next?” Molly asked.
“I guess we could head to the club. They are probably still open” answered Beavis.
The three-headed to the club and entered. Once they spotted the door leading to the dance floor, Molly and Beavis made theirs toward audit. “It’s getting late, we should start heading home soon”.
“I know, I know” responded Beavis. “Can we just stay for a little longer?”
Molly shrugged. “Alright. As long as it isn’t too long”.
As the two approached the DJ booth, Beavis reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. “I forgot to give you this earlier.”
Molly took the piece of paper from him, noticing it was the song list. “Hmm…I haven’t heard that song before…”
“This song is called ‘Ain't nobody gonna love you I wrote it myself” explained Beavis. “I wanted to share it with everyone so that no one would forget it. Everyone needs to remember the good times, the fun times. This one is perfect”.
Molly gave him a small smile and read through the song list once again. When she finished she turned to Beavis. “I’ll make sure to remember it” she promised. “But, since you made it for me, I feel like I should return the favor.
Before Beavis could respond Molly leaned forward and gave him a soft kiss on the lips, wrapping her arms around his waist. Beavis wrapped his arms around her neck and pressed his lips against hers gently.
He kissed her back gently, deepening the kiss slowly. The kiss eventually ended when they needed air. Both of their faces were flushed. “Wow” commented Beavis. “That was...um...very pleasant”.
Molly giggled slightly. “Yes it was. Thanks for sharing this with me. I love it”.
“You’re welcome. Anytime” Beavis winked. “And hey...maybe one day we could do it again sometime”.
“Maybe we could” replied Molly, smiling slightly. “But not until after the band comes out. I’m busy making sure that everything goes smoothly during these last couple of days. Besides, we need to focus on our new song and prepare ourselves for the release. I’m sure everything will go smoothly.”
“Alright,” Beavis sighed. “But I’d like to see you again before then”. He flashed her a charming grin.
“I’d love that” Molly admitted.
After Molly and Beavis left the club, Gideon exited the bathroom and approached the door to leave.
“Hey Gideon, where are you going?” asked Beavis.
He stopped walking and faced the younger man. “I think it’s best if I head home. Molly and I have some catching up to do”.
“Oh…okay. Well…don’t hesitate to message us if you need us”.
Gideon smiled and nodded, “Of course. Thank you for today”. Before walking off, he turned around and faced Beavis, who was still staring after him, “Goodbye Beavis. And goodbye Molly. Have a good rest of your day”. And with that, he left the scene.
Beavis shook his head. “Well…at least we got a good look at him”.
“Yeah. I guess we did” Molly replied.
“Anyways, let's go home”.
They began walking home and soon enough Molly spoke up, “So, what did you think of the collaboration?”
“I think it was pretty enjoyable, Beavis.
“Especially because we both contributed to it”.
“You didn’t contribute. I did” replied Molly, flashing him a smug smile.
“No matter what you say, I a lot. That’s why I decided to write my melody. You know, to help you with yours”.
Molly laughed softly, shaking her head slightly. “Alright, alright. We both worked d did a good job with our song. Let’s call it even for today”. She looked ahead.
After an hour or so of walking, the two arrived at the apartment building. “Thanks for accompanying me tonight, Beavis. I had a lot of fun tonight” said Molly.
“Me too. Thank you for inviting me tonight, I had a good time” replied Beavis.
The two shared another kiss before entering the building.
“I want to be alone for a moment,” said Beavis as he stood up. “I’ll be right back”.
Molly looked at him confused, “Uhm..okay”. She watched him leave and then turned around to see Caleb standing behind her. He stared at her for a few moments, trying to hide his smirk.
Molly raised a brow at him and glared playfully. “What? Don’t you have somewhere else to be?”
Caleb nodded, smirking slightly. “Yea, I do. But I was wondering if I could spend a moment with you instead”.
“Why” questioned Molly suspiciously.
“Because I missed you” explained Caleb. “I don’t mean that I have missed you, I meant that I miss spending time with you”.
Molly looked away from him. “You don’t have to say that”.
Caleb grabbed her hand, “Please, let me”.
Molly paused, before looking down at his hand and letting him hold her hand. Caleb squeezed her hand slightly and pulled her closer, placing a gentle kiss on her cheek. Molly felt herself blush slightly.
She moved away slightly and looked at Caleb. “If you have anything to say, you better spit it out Caleb. I’ve told you before and I’m telling you now. It’s over”.
“I know, Molly,” said Caleb quietly. “I know…and that’s why I’m here”.
“Here? To explain yourself?” Molly stated.
“Yea. Why else would I be here?” asked Caleb.
Molly thought for a moment. “You were jealous and hurt because I told you no. Am I right?”.
Caleb remained silent.
Molly sighed. “Look, Caleb, I don’t know how to explain it. I never meant to hurt you. I swear to you that I never did”.
Caleb looked at her with sad eyes. “Then why?”.
“I’m sorry that I was unable to tell you that I love someone else. I truly am. I just wasn’t ready”.
“You should have been”.
“You wouldn’t understand…”
“Try me, Molly. Maybe I can explain”.
“No. Please, Caleb. Just go”.
Caleb studied her expression closely. After seeing her determination to push him away, he knew that she would not budge. He walked away without another word.
After Caleb left, Molly sat there in silence. Her heart ached for her friend. How was she supposed to explain it to him? How could she tell him she loved someone else? What could she possibly say?
The thought of telling anyone crossed her mind. She considered talking to Beavis and asking for his advice. Then she dismissed the idea almost immediately; he’d most likely laugh in her face.
