He's not care at all when he finds out that accusations he's said to me aren't true, he doesn't even ask an apology to me. It hurts me so much because he doesn't seem to be guilty of the false accusation he made against me.
He's even avoiding me the next day, but you know? I still did my promise to him. When I got home last night all the lights were turned off, and I only reached Kaisel's older sister. It's not her fault after all, but she's even the one who apologized to me.
Since I wasn't sleepy last night, I just decided that I will just do my promise and deal with Kaisel that I would bake him our best-selling cookies at our pastry shop in exchange for him to tutor me.
My mom taught me, when you make promises to someone, if you can do it, do it. I'm not good at baking but I know, I baked it with love and spring within me.
I made a promise and he made his promise and he fulfilled that, he even did more than that. So, I'm here in front of his room waiting for him to open the door and come out.
I didn't knock on his door because I didn't want to disturb him. And I can also wait here outside his room. I've been waiting for him for over four years to pay attention to me, and I handle that. When I heard the door open, I stood up straight.
He raised his eyebrows when he first saw me on his beautiful morning.
"Why are you in front of my door?" He asked. I quickly showed him my baked cookies.
"Here. As my promise to you and about our deal." He looked at me curiously before picking up the cookies I had baked. I smiled at him and said that I will finally fix my things because we will leave at 7 am. And it was already 5 am in the morning.
I was about to open my door when he suddenly spoke. "What?" I asked.
"Thank you for this." He raised the cookies baked for him. I just said it's nothing because after all he's the one who helps me with my acads. And it's our deal also.
I smiled at him and finally came to my room. I started to fix my things when Alyssa came to my room.
"Hey, Dee. Elaine is also invited?" The first thing I heard from her. I looked at her, confused. I didn't know what's she's talking about.
"Come here, she's talking to Kaisel's parents downstairs." I nodded. We went outside to my room and we looked at what she's talking about. Right, she's really here. But how? I thought to myself, my friends, and the Kaisel family who's going to celebrate. But, why is she here?
We went downstairs and asked Aunt Kailey's why Elaine is here but she doesn't have any idea either.
"Who's inviting her?" I heard Kaisel's eldest sister say. Yeah, who's inviting her? Did she think she belonged here? Then, no. She's not belong here.
"Hey, Kaisel!" She walked closer to Kaisel carrying her suitcases. I got annoyed, I didn't even know why. But, whenever I see her, my head is boiling like hell.
"Hey, Laine. How are you?" I rolled my eyes.
Our attention went to the person who suddenly spoke. "Hello, Denice, good morning." He greeted me, while he's holding his suitcase.
I looked at Kaisel, and our eyes met. I immediately turned away and looked back at the person who had just arrived.
"Hey, Sean, why are you here?" I asked him. I just really wonder why he is here because like what I said earlier, I only thought, me and my mom, my friends, and Kaisel's family who's going to celebrate.
"You weren't glad that I was here?"
"No, it's not like that. I'm just really wondering why you are here." I explained to him. I didn't remember I invited him because I really thought we were just us.
We looked at Aunt Kailey's when she spoke up. "I invited him because I heard she helped Denice last time to the man who's following her. As my thanks to him, I invited him." Aunt Kailey said.
I slightly bowed my head because of what I heard from Aunt Kailey. Oh, I forgot! Right! Sean helped me last time to the who's keep following me, but because of Sean, I got home safely. And then I will treat him like this, wow! Just wow, Denice!
I didn't even think to repay him for helping me. Shocks! I'm really embarrassed to face him today.
"You really help my Denice?" My mom asked her. I saw on my peripheral vision he scratched his ear very hard before nodding and answering my mother's question. I immediately got a slap on my mother's arm.
"Why didn't you tell us? He helped you! Oh, Denice!" My mom, frustrated, said to me, as if he no longer knew what to do with me. I forgot to repay him for helping me because my attention was on the person who wasn't even noticing me and my efforts.
"I know it is already late but thank you so much for helping my daughter and making her home safely that day. The life of my daughter I owe to you. And I don't know how I can repay you. Thank you so much." My mom expressed this to Sean.
"No worries, Ma'am. And you don't owe anything to me. All I want is that Denice got home safely to your house. I don't want anything else." It makes me more shy to approach and face him.
How can I forget to repay the person who helps my life? Maybe if Sean hadn't delivered me that night I wouldn't be here today. So, why did I forget to compensate him? Why?!
"Tsk." Kaisel tsked that did not help to me how to make up for Sean helping me. The cookies I made were just right for Kaisel because the ingredients weren't enough either. So it's really only on Kaisel the cookies I baked. I don’t really know how I can make up for him.
I went back to my room after I let them know I would just fix my stuff. And I don't know how I will approach Sean, I was also not comfortable that Ellaine was around.
"I think Sean has feelings for you." Alyssa blurted out while I'm busy folding and putting my clothes in my suitcase. I don't think he's not. I just see Sean as my friend and schoolmate. And I think that's how he sees me too.
"I don't think so." I just replied to her and zippered my suitcase then put it down on the floor.
"But, It's my thoughts." I just didn't respond to what she said. I don’t want to argue with her. I know for myself Sean doesn't have feelings for me because a girl like me is not his ideal girlfriend or what.
After I fixed my stuff, Alyssa and I went down again because we were leaving already.
"Let me help you with your suitcase." Sean's persistence to help with my suitcase but I already said to him thrice that I can handle my suitcase but he was really pushy so I just let him.
I thanked him for carrying my baggage and put that on the back of their Kaisel's van. He just gave me a little smile on his lips. I admit, Sean is such an attractive man that's why I don't believe what Alyssa says to me that the young man has feelings for me.
He's tall, he's also popular on campus because he's an athlete. He's smart and talented, he's everyone's ideal man. That's why it's really impossible for him to have feelings for a girl like me.
I smiled bitterly after I rode in the van.
