The two days following Inferno's warning were filled with tension. Deniel and his friends knew they had limited time to prepare for the monsters' return, but they also didn’t know what new challenges the fight would bring.
They gathered at Deniel’s house to plan. Jess was using her radar goggles to scan the city, while Aris was testing his ability to make trash disappear by cleaning up the streets nearby. Milo paced nervously, occasionally making small pieces of furniture appear out of thin air, his frustration showing in the scattered chairs and tables that kept popping up.
"I don't get it," Milo said, shaking his head. "How are we supposed to prepare for monsters that are stronger than the last time? It was already hard enough before!"
Deniel sat quietly, thinking. He knew Milo had a point, but they couldn't give up now. They had to face the monsters again, and this time, all three would be coming at them together. That meant Valtor with his invisibility, Karrok with his super strength and ability to move through solid objects, and Flarex, the fiery beast with wings of flame. Facing them all at once sounded impossible.
"We’ve fought them before," Deniel finally said, "and we beat them. We just have to figure out how to use our new powers in the best way."
Jess looked up from her goggles. "The radar will help, especially with Valtor. Even if he’s invisible, I should be able to detect him. But what about the others?"
Deniel nodded. "Yeah, and I can teleport us around to avoid Karrok’s attacks. Plus, if any of us get hurt, I can heal you."
Milo sighed, sitting on a chair that he’d just created. "And I can plant trees... or make furniture. Not exactly helpful when we’re up against monsters."
Aris, who had been quiet, finally spoke. "But you can use the trees to block attacks, right? Or to protect people. And my power... well, I’ll figure out how to make it work too."
Deniel looked at his friends, feeling the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. They were all trying to stay positive, but the truth was, they were scared. The monsters had been dangerous before, and now with Inferno's warning about them being stronger, it felt like everything was stacked against them.
The next morning, the group decided to visit the city where the final battle would take place. It was a large, bustling area with tall buildings and busy streets. People went about their day, completely unaware of the danger that was lurking just days away.
As they walked through the city, Deniel couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The weather had been strange ever since Inferno appeared. Thick clouds hung low in the sky, and the air was heavy, like it was waiting for something. The city felt quieter than usual, as if the people could sense that something bad was coming, even if they didn't know what it was.
"We need to figure out where the monsters are going to attack," Jess said, looking through her radar goggles. "This city is huge. If they start destroying buildings, we won’t be able to keep up with them."
Deniel nodded, scanning the skyline. "We should stick together and stay near the center. That way, we can react faster when they show up."
Milo added, "And we have to make sure people don’t get caught in the middle. There’s going to be chaos when the fight starts."
The group agreed, setting up a rough plan for how they would handle the coming battle. They would stay close to the city’s main square, where they had the most open space to move around, and Deniel would use his teleportation ability to keep them out of danger when things got too intense.
As night fell, the group decided to head back home to rest before the big fight. But as they walked through the streets, the air grew colder, and a strange fog began to roll in.
Deniel’s heart raced as he remembered the last time they saw fog like this—when Inferno had appeared. He looked around, trying to stay calm, but he could see the same nervousness in his friends' eyes.
"Do you think it’s starting already?" Jess whispered, her hand hovering near her goggles.
"I don’t know," Deniel replied, scanning the streets. "But we need to be ready."
Suddenly, a deep voice echoed through the fog. "The time has come."
Deniel froze. It was Inferno’s voice.
Out of the fog, three shadowy figures began to emerge. The group braced themselves as Valtor, Karrok, and Flarex stepped into the dim light, their dark purple eyes glowing eerily.
The monsters looked different than before. They seemed stronger, more menacing. Valtor’s skin shimmered with an almost ghostly glow, and his staff was now radiating with dark energy. Karrok’s muscles bulged, his fists clenched as if he was ready to crush anything in his path. Flarex’s flames burned hotter than before, his wings leaving trails of fire in the air as he hovered just above the ground.
Deniel’s heart pounded in his chest. "It’s time," he said, his voice steady despite the fear swirling inside him.
Jess activated her radar goggles, locking onto the monsters. "We’ve got this. We know what to do."
Milo stepped forward, summoning a tree with a flick of his wrist. "Let’s end this."
Aris nodded, his expression determined. "No more running. We fight."
The monsters stood silently for a moment, their glowing eyes watching the group as if sizing them up.
Then, without warning, all three monsters lunged forward at once.
Deniel and his friends moved quickly, using their powers to dodge the initial attack. Valtor vanished, his invisible form making it impossible to see where he would strike next. Karrok charged forward, his massive frame barreling through anything in his way, while Flarex flew overhead, raining down streams of fire.
Deniel grabbed Jess’s hand and teleported them out of the way just as Karrok smashed into a building. They reappeared on the other side of the street, but there was no time to rest. Valtor had reappeared behind them, his staff raised, ready to attack.
"Look out!" Deniel shouted, pushing Jess out of the way.
The battle had begun, and it was clear that this fight would be their hardest yet.
