Nathan and Doms stood in the middle of the city, surrounded by the eerie silence left behind after the battle. The three violet figures were gone, reduced to nothing but mist. The sky above had cleared slightly, the swirling purple clouds now drifting apart, revealing patches of blue.
“We did it,” Nathan said, more to himself than to Doms. His heart was still racing, and his muscles ached from the fight, but for the first time in days, he felt like they might actually have a chance.
“Yeah,” Doms replied, adjusting his hat. “But why do I feel like that was just the beginning?”
Nathan frowned. He had the same uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach. They had fought and won against all three meteors, but something still felt... wrong.
“I don’t know,” Nathan admitted. “But we need to stay on our guard. There might be more to this than we realize.”
As they started walking through the empty streets, their footsteps echoing off the crumbling buildings, Nathan’s phone buzzed again. He pulled it out, expecting another update from the news. But this time, it was a message from the mysterious guy who had given them their magical items.

Nathan’s blood ran cold as he stared at the screen.
“What is it?” Doms asked, noticing Nathan’s expression.
Nathan showed him the message. “It’s from him. The guy who gave us the gloves and the knives. He says there’s a bigger threat coming.”
Doms’ face hardened. “I knew it. Those meteors were just the warm-up.”
Nathan put his phone away, his mind racing. If the meteors were only the beginning, then whatever was coming next was bound to be even more dangerous. But what could be worse than the violet creatures they had already fought?
“We need answers,” Nathan said. “If the real threat is still out there, we can’t just wait for it to show up. We have to find out what’s going on.”
Doms nodded in agreement. “But how? The guy who gave us the weapons always shows up when he wants to, not when we need him.”
Nathan thought for a moment. The mysterious man had appeared at the portal and given them the magical items, but he never stayed long enough to explain much. They had been figuring things out on their own since the start. But if they could track him down...
“There’s got to be a way to find him,” Nathan said. “He knows more than he’s telling us. Maybe if we go back to where it all started, we can find some clues.”
“The portal?” Doms asked. “You think he’ll be there?”
“It’s worth a shot,” Nathan replied. “It’s the only lead we have.”
With a new sense of urgency, they made their way back toward the forest where they had first found the portal. The walk was long and quiet, both of them lost in their thoughts. The sun was setting by the time they reached the familiar clearing, the one where their entire adventure had begun.
The portal wasn’t visible anymore, but the air in the clearing still felt strange, like it was charged with the same energy that had brought the meteors.
“Now what?” Doms asked, looking around.
Nathan pulled out his goggles and slipped them on. As soon as he did, the landscape around him shifted. The trees looked normal, but there was a faint glow coming from the center of the clearing—where the portal had been.
“I see something,” Nathan said, walking toward the glow. “It’s faint, but it’s here.”
Doms followed, staying close. As they reached the center of the clearing, the glow grew brighter. Then, suddenly, the air shimmered, and the portal reappeared before their eyes.
“I knew it,” Nathan whispered. “It’s still here.”
But before they could step closer, a voice echoed from behind them.
“You’ve done well to make it this far.”
Nathan and Doms spun around, and there he was—the mysterious man who had given them their items. He was standing at the edge of the clearing, his dark cloak billowing slightly in the wind, his face hidden in shadow.
“Who are you?” Nathan demanded. “Why won’t you tell us what’s really going on?”
The man stepped forward, his eyes glowing faintly beneath his hood. “You’ve proven yourselves in battle, but the true enemy is still coming. The meteors were only a distraction—a way to test your strength.”
“A test?” Doms repeated, his fists clenching. “We nearly died, and you’re saying it was a test?”
The man nodded. “The violet creatures were just the beginning. The real threat comes from those who sent the meteors. They are far more powerful than anything you’ve faced, and they are preparing for something far worse.”
Nathan’s heart sank. “Who are they? What do they want?”
The man’s eyes flickered with a strange light. “They are known as the Keepers of the Void, ancient beings who seek to consume worlds. They send the meteors to weaken their targets before launching their full attack.”
Doms stepped forward. “How do we stop them?”
The man paused for a moment before speaking again. “You can’t... not yet. You still don’t have all the power you need.”
Nathan’s mind raced. “What do we need? What aren’t you telling us?”
The man reached into his cloak and pulled out a small, glowing orb. “There are more items—ones that are far more powerful than the ones you already have. If you can find them, you may stand a chance.”
He tossed the orb to Nathan, who caught it, feeling its warmth in his hands. The orb pulsed with a soft blue light, and as Nathan held it, he felt a surge of energy flow through him.
“These orbs will lead you to the hidden items,” the man said. “But be warned—the Keepers will not let you find them easily.”
Nathan nodded, determination building inside him. “We’ll find them.”
The man turned to leave but paused before stepping back into the shadows. “You have little time. The Keepers are already preparing their final assault. If you fail, your world will be lost.”
With that, he disappeared, leaving Nathan and Doms standing alone in the clearing.
Doms looked at Nathan, his eyes wide. “This just got a whole lot bigger.”
Nathan gripped the orb tightly, feeling its power in his hands. “We need to find those items... before it’s too late.
