Chapter 28 Departure

BELLE'S P.O.V
"So, what would you like to say to me?
He dropped his gaze to mine.
The princess seemed to be enraged.
"I'd want to apologize to the princess for what I've done previously; I realize it's a little late, but I still want you to know that I reflect on what-"
She stopped me by raising her hand.
"What exactly is it?"
"Okay, I accept your apologies."
My pupils dilated.
Is this the same princess I know? I was watching her, but I couldn't determine if she was kidding with her facial expressions.
Is she saying she's serious?
What transpired? Why did she suddenly accept my apologies despite the fact that I hadn't spoken anything?
"Please forgive me, my princess, but-"
"No, no, you're not required to say anything. Stop apologizing so that I can alter my mind. What happened to your tea? ”
My mouth dropped open.
I never expected the princess would accept my apologies and instead want a cup of tea.
"Arkanghel, get the tea and the pastries ready."
Arkanghel made an oblique move to the kitchen, where May was waiting.
I'm focused on the princess. She appears to be thinking about something, but she does not want it to be discussed.
I feel both thrilled and perplexed.
What the hell is going on here?
Arkanghel afterward appeared with the pastries and tea.
We're eating dessert and talking about nothing in particular.
The princess's animosity toward me shifted in the blink of an eye. It's as though she's a whole different person!
I tried to recall that she wasn't like this even when we first met.
I had a feeling she was going to bring Hansel today. But it appears that she did not.
I want to question her about him, but I'm afraid she'll be upset if I do. On the other hand, she seemed to enjoy the treats I prepared.
This should suffice, right?
I sighed.
"Are you perfectly all right, my lady?" "May ponder, handing me a cup of cool water.
"I'm just puzzled why she takes my apologies so quickly."
We've arrived at my bedroom. I'm relaxing my back because it's aching a lot these days.
"I also don't know, dear lady," May abruptly positioned herself on my foot and began massaging my feet.
"Oh, thank you very much. I'm grateful."
She stroked my back as I pondered what I should do next.
Since the princess's case is resolved so effortlessly, I must do whatever is required. As quickly as possible.
Should I travel north now?
"Could you please assist me in locating the other person we will be traveling with?" "May cocked her brow.
"You don't have to be concerned about it anymore, my lady."
What exactly does she mean?
"I've already selected the ideal individual to accompany you."
"Oh, is that correct?”
That astounds me. May didn't tell me anything about it until today.
Mary gave a reassuring nod. She seemed to be pleased with herself. Why is this so?
What is its identity? Something terrible is going on here, I have a feeling.
"I'll present you to that somebody tomorrow, my lady."
“Tomorrow? Why do you have to wait till tomorrow when you can just mention my name? ”
This is giving me a horrible vibe.
"For the time being, my lady, you should rest. I'll pack the items you'll be bringing for your trip tomorrow."
"That's something you can do later." I'll go to bed first so I can help you later, but could you just keep doing what you're doing now? It's a nice change of pace."
She gave a nod of approval.
"Of course, my lady," says the narrator.
I shut my eyes and sighed. As soon as I closed it, I felt as if I were being taken into another temporal realm. After that, I dozed off.
WHAT IS GOING ON IN THIS ROOM?
Arkanghel is not dressed in the travel clothing we took with us yesterday.
"Why are you wearing that instead of the clothing we packed for the trip?"
He didn't respond. Instead, he focused his attention on May.
May instructed him to enter the residence.
"I'll take care of it."
"What is going on here?”
"Arkanghel entered the home. But first, he bowed to me at a ninety-degree angle."
My gaze was drawn to him as he walked. Why is Arkanghel behaving in this manner? And why is he going into the mansion when he's supposed to be accompanying me to the north?
"Can you tell me what's going on?"
May smiled me down.
"Remember when I told you that I had found the perfect companion for you, my lady?"
Is this the same individual she mentioned earlier?
"Well, I recall you mentioning that; what do you think about it?"
May smiled at me.
What's the deal with that smirk? Does she have something planned?
"What is it? Can you tell me what's going on? We need to get out of here as quickly as possible, and where is that person?"
"Please don't be concerned, dear lady. He's on his way, I'm sure. "All you have to do now is unwind."
"What exactly do you mean by relaxing? We need to leave right away so we can return sooner!-”
"He's already arrived."
When we heard the galloping of a horse, I didn't get to complete what I was about to say.
My gaze was drawn away from May and onto the guy astride the horse.
He is a man who is dressed in a black coat. Who exactly is he?
I couldn't see his face since his coat was concealing it, but I can tell you the individual had a substantial physique.
"Who are you?" I asked myself.
"My lady, it is the person who will accompany you on your journey."
I fixed my gaze on the man. May, didn't you say it was this man?
So it explains why he has such a large build. But why did May allow me to travel alone with a stranger?
What if something unexpected happened while we were on the road?
"Are you certain it is safe for you to travel with that person?" ”
She gave a nod of approval.
"I'm confident you'll enjoy it as well, my lady."
That is perplexing. Why should traveling with that person make me happy?
Who, after all, is that person?
My attention is drawn back to that individual when he falls from his horse. I couldn't see his face, but he moved toward us, his horse resting on his left arm. He appears to be suspicious.
Is he an assassin or something? The man did not take off his headcover. Even until he is finally in front of me.
What's the story this month? I'm becoming suspicious. But then I heard him say something.
I could hear his voice.
"It is a joy to join you on this journey, my lady."
My eyes widened as I realized what had happened. Wait a minute. The voice seems familiar. Please don't tell me that man is—
I cast a bemused glance in his direction.
"Is this really real?" Don't tell me this isn't him. ”
I hadn't had a chance to recover when the individual in front of me lifted his hood. My mouth dropped open.
"What is he doing here?"
”
That was an unintentional inquiry that popped out of my mouth. When I heard May chuckle, my gaze was drawn to her.
I raise an eyebrow. May became aware of what I was asking as a result of my activity.
She didn't stop chuckling, but she still replied to me.
"He will be the one to accompany you on this journey, my lady."
I couldn't say anything. Is this the genuine deal?
But why would he consent to that? Maybe because he has the stuff to do in the north and I'm heading there as well, he'll accompany me on my journey?
Yes, that may be the explanation.
"You don't have to accompany me if you don't want to."
"Excuse me, my lady?"
"I mean, if you've got your own gang, you can simply travel with them." You are not required to follow me if you do not choose to."
"It appears that you are wrong, my lady. I am the only one who wants to follow you, and I am not part of any other groups or parties traveling to the north."
Don't tell me he's simply joining me on my journey out of sheer desire?
"Does that imply yes, my lady?"
"He will serve as your personal knight until you return safely to the mansion."
"You're not joking, are you?"
"Of course not, dear lady," I say. I'm not going to make a joke about it."
“But—“
"No more ifs and buts." It has been agreed that Hendrick shall accompany you on this journey since he is powerful, and I can ensure your safety while he is with you."
"But Arkanghel is also a force to be reckoned with!" Do you mean Arkanghel isn't stronger than him?
My pupils dilated.
"Of course not!" I'm aware that Hendrick is far more powerful. That's all; Hendrick will now join you. Then you two should go right now before the sun gets too scorching."
She pushed us all the way to the carriage.
Why is she behaving this way?
She seemed to be in a rush to send us out.
I tried not to look at Hendrick since he was silent.
I'm not sure if he's upset about it, but he still climbs into the carriage, anyway.
May is the one who shuts the carriage door when we arrive.
"Best wishes, my lady and Hendrick, on your journey!"
I thanked her, but then I recalled something and called her name.
"We are still in the process of refurbishing this property. What about the house's remodeling? Now that there have been certain modifications due to the currency, stanzas, and current circumstances?”
May raises her hand in greeting.
"Please don't be concerned, dear lady. Inodin will assist me."
“Inodin? What makes you think she'd be willing to assist you? ”
"I asked her, and she agreed. That concludes it."
I'm at a loss for words at this point. May has a habit of doing things behind my back because she usually shocks me.
"Are you sure it's alright for her?"
"Yes, it's okay with her. Don't be concerned. You are free to leave now."
We should go right now. I was going to say anything to May when she told the coachman to start driving.
I exhaled a sigh.
"She's that chick."
"You don't have to be concerned about it anymore."
I am certain that May will handle things right.
I fixed my gaze on Hendrick. He is sitting directly in front of me. I didn't know he'd been stripping off his clothing for quite some time now as he isn't wearing the coat he's wearing just a while ago.
He is looking at me thoughtfully right now.
"You should let her be, my lady."
Is he referring to May?
"I know, I'm simply worried about her."
It's the truth. May worries me since she has been working really hard recently.
"If she says she can do it, then she can do it. My lady, you should concentrate on what you have to accomplish right now."
That brings me to a halt. Hendrick has a valid point. I really should focus on what's in my grasp right now, I shouldn't think of the things that's not included in my plans right now.
Now is the time for me to pay attention to my journey. We discussed some essential travel information as we traveled north.
He advised me about commonplace things I should avoid doing when traveling. I also warned him that I should avoid sharp objects since anything similar to what happened previously may happen again.
He simply stated that everything was okay and that we should proceed with caution.
Our journey had been uneventful until we reached the jungle.
