Chapter 85 The Unexpected Meeting

♫ Lemon ♫
I woke up early the next morning. Well, I guess it’s best to say that I wasn’t able to sleep at all and this is all IGNORE’s fault!
I don’t know if I should be scared or what, but if I were to meet him, I’ll punch him without thinking twice. He’s giving me a hard time figuring out who he is!
Since it was Sunday, even if I didn’t get enough sleep, I still pushed myself off of the bed to prepare for and attend the mass. There’s a lot I need to pray for too, especially now that my mind’s a mess.
I made it right on time and as soon as the mass ended, I stepped out of the church without knowing where my feet will take me. I just keep walking until someone grabbed me.
“Hey lady! Are you trying to kill yourself? Don’t drag me into your foolishness!” the man inside the car next to me yelled.
I looked around to see if I was the one he was talking to. When I was about to say something, someone else cut in, “Sorry Sir, my friend's not feeling well,” Drew told him.
‘Drew? Why is Drew here?’
Staring at him, I was about to ask how he was there when he pulled me across the street and to the park. “What are you doing?” he sneered and the crease on my forehead deepen.
‘I was just walking, is he blind? Why is he even mad?’
“Why are you so careless Leslie? What if didn’t see you? God knows what could’ve happened!” he continued.
Drew never raised his voice at me so I was taken surprised by his reaction. More so that I don’t even know why he’s acting like this.
“What were you thinking that you’re walking like a zombie?” he hissed while shaking my shoulders.
That was when I came back to my senses and my knees suddenly felt weak. Thank God he was quick enough to catch me. “Are you ok?” he asked again and I nodded slowly.
“Sorry,” I whispered as he led me to a bench. “I didn’t notice the car…”
“I know! That’s why you better be careful next time!” he said thru gritted teeth.
I looked up at him as he was standing right in front of me. He really looks good even if his brows are tied in a knot as he was furious.
I almost smiled while staring at him. Fortunately, I was able to stop myself. Dismissing the thought, I even scolded myself at the back of my head.
I reached out for his hand and he suddenly looked at me, I must've surprised him. “Sorry, please don’t be mad anymore,” I tried to coax him but he just heave a sigh before sitting next to me.
“Is there something wrong?” he asked with a face that looks so worried and I shook my head.
“I was just thinking of something and I wasn’t able to sleep last night,” I confessed.
He slowly nodded before turning to face me, “Did you bring your car?” when I shook my head, he stood up and held my hand. “Let’s go, I’ll take you home.”
I pulled him back before he can take a step forward. “Let’s stay here for a while,” I even pouted to appeal to him.
He looked around before sitting next to me again and I did the same. As I enjoy the scenery, it becomes more and more familiar.
‘What the fuck? This is where our first kiss happened!’
I suddenly felt panicky, “Ah, Drew, let’s go home,” then I stood up but before I can walk away from him, he had already caught my hand.
“Why are we suddenly leaving? Did you happen to remember something?” then he smiled naughtily.
“Yes, I suddenly remember I still have things I need to do at home,” I tried to come up with an excuse as I withdraw my hand from him.
When he let go, I walked away from him without knowing if this is the right way home. “Liar! You did remember something!” he yelled behind me but that didn’t stop me from walking. “Les, where are you going?” he asked again.
I start feeling irritated as we stay longer so I faced him with my brow raised. “You said you’re taking me home, so I’m going to where your car was parked!”
He scratched the back of his head before shaking it slowly. He then walked up to me and held my hand, “This is the way to the parking lot…” he whispered as we walk in the opposite direction.
I feel so stupid when I realized I was wrong. But instead of getting mad at him for rubbing it in, I’m thankful that he’s here to accompany me at a time like this.
“Do you want to eat first?” he asked hesitantly. I nodded at him and we drove to a nearby restaurant.
I was feeling a bit weird as he’s being too much of a gentleman. He opened the door of the car for me and the door of the restaurant too.
“Drew, you’re a bit overreacting. I’m fine now,” I told him as he held my hand on our way in.
“No, I want to make sure you’re fine,” and because he was dead serious when he said that, I chose not to refuse and just followed him.
A waiter led us to a table for two and Drew even pulled a chair for me. When the waiter hands us the menu, I let him choose what we’ll have for lunch.
Resting his elbows on the table and clasping his hands, he furrowed his brows at me and his lips are pressed in a thin line. I shot my brows up to urge him to speak and so he did.
“So tell me, what is going on with you?” he asked in his usual straight face.
I chewed on my lower lip. I’m not sure if I should tell him about it, but I guess there’s no harm in doing so. “It’s nothing really important. I was just thinking about who’s texting me.”
He sat up straight as if I just said something super interesting. "What do you mean?"
“Someone is texting me but he won’t say who he is. It started when I first came here from France. At first, his messages were sweet. Then do you remember the time my dad went to the studio?” and he nodded. “After that, his messages became warnings. That I should take care of myself, that he’d look after me, stuff like that. Then after our last gig, he also sent a message. It's as if he's in that very same place. I don’t know, I just find it creepy.”
He was just staring at me as I narrate my worry. His reaction looked like he was weighing on my mood or something of that sort.
“Oh, there’s something else. He’s been sending me charms,” then I lifted my arm to show it to him and he smiled when he saw it. “He also sent me a necklace for my birthday last year.”
“And you have no idea who was it?” I shook my head.
“If I were to base it on the warning messages, I’d say it’s Myco. But the last two messages make it impossible for it to be him too. Unless he’s in the country, of course.”
Drew just nods his head slowly but didn’t say anything more. He didn’t talk again until our food was served.
We talked about random stuff while eating. At times we’ll burst into laughter but most of the time, he irritates me.
I really get annoyed whenever he smiles, smirks, shot his brows up or furrows it. I can’t help but think why he’s so gorgeous despite the facial expressions. It’s like he’ll look good even when he makes face.
Drew invited me for a walk after our lunch. We continued talking and we didn’t notice that our feet took us to the very same park. We even both burst into laughter when we realized.
He then pulled me up to the small hill and sat on the grass. Recalling something, I can’t help but smile.
“You like the view?”
I nodded at him and told him what I remembered. “This is where Rawbin took me on our first date. This is where he confessed his feelings for me.”
“Let’s go,” he suddenly stood up, dusted off his pants, and pulled me up.
“Where are we going? We just got here, I just sat down!”
“Let’s go somewhere else, it’s starting to get dark here. My vision’s going dark,” and my forehead creased.
“What do you mean? It’s not even sunset!” I sneered.
Left without a choice, I let him pull me to where he wanted to go. After a few steps, I pulled him to a stop and he faced me, “Movie?” I asked.
He didn’t answer but he walked towards the direction of the mall so I assumed he agreed. When we got there, I bought the tickets while he insist on buying donuts and soft drinks.
In the middle of the film, I started feeling cold. My blouse is with sleeves but the cloth is thin and the skirt is short, so I tried hugging myself to feel warm.
Drew noticed that so he placed an arm over my shoulder as he gently pull me close to him. I wriggle to look up and smiled. “Did you remember something again? Is it Rawbin again?”
I nodded and my smile widen. “Why are your styles similar? Did you guys enroll in the same school for the playboys?” I teased.
Instead of responding, he took his arm off my shoulders and held my hand. “Let’s go, the story’s not interesting at all,” he said as he pull me up.
“Drew!” I called as he start to walk out, dragging me by the wrist. “How about the donuts?”
“We’ll buy again outside,” he responded without even looking at me.
When we got to the parking lot and reached his car, he opened the door for me. When he get in, he closed the door on his side with a bang.
“Why does it seem like you hate the world? Did I do something?” I asked as I start to feel confused because of his actions. “Then why are you acting like that? You’re so irritating, you know? I was trying to enjoy my time with you but you’re ruining it!”
He bowed down on the steering wheel as he inhale and exhale several times. “Sorry,” he whispered. “I just can’t help but be pissed.”
“About what? Why don’t you tell me?”
“I’mpissedbecauseI’mtheonewithyoubutyoukeepmentioningRawbin!” he rapped.
I tried to hold back my laughter but it already escaped my mouth. “Sorry, it’s just that I didn't understand anything. What was it again?”
He sighed before turning to face me, “Why do you always have to mention Rawbin? You’re with me, and yet you’re thinking of him!” he hissed. He was obviously annoyed but I can’t stop myself from smiling. I wanted to ask him something but I don’t want him to think that I’m assuming. Yet again, he answered it anyway, “Fine! I’m jealous! Happy?”
