“I just got here, I thought you guys haven’t arrived yet,” I heard Myco tell Leslie as we followed her downstairs.
I went straight to the restroom and while inside, my phone beeped. I quickly checked it and saw a message sent by my cousin.
‘We need to talk, but not here. Meet me at Dencio’s in 10 minutes. I’ll go ahead.’
My forehead creased for a second. ‘What do we have to talk about?’ Before I go out, I heard him bidding the guys farewell.
To not be obvious, I sat next to Leslie when I came out of the restroom. I waited for five minutes before excusing myself.
“I’ll go out for a bit,” I told them as I tap Roj’s shoulder.
“Where are you going? I’m coming!” Kevz yelled.
Even if I want to, I can’t since I’m meeting Myco. Therefore, I have to think of an excuse so he’d refuse to come.
“I’m meeting Minnie, let’s go,” but then his expression immediately turned sour.
“You can go on your own, take care!” he told me as he went back in.
When I got to Dencio’s, I easily spotted Myco. He’s seated at the corner table on the second floor of the restaurant. He obviously doesn’t want anyone to see us.
“Let’s order first, I’m starving,” he said before calling the waiter. “I heard what you guys are talking about,” he told me when the waiter left us. “Your dad’s right, Lemon’s in danger.”
I can feel my hands turning cold, “Why are you telling me this?” obviously confused as to what he just shared with me.
“Because… Because I’m in love with Lemon and I don’t want her to get hurt,” he confessed.
My stomach is tied in a knot. ‘Did I hear it right? He loves her? That means when he told her he’ll court her, he was serious about it and it’s not just because it was part of his brother’s plan?’
“But that’s not what’s important right now. What’s important is to protect Lemon and make sure that Ysmael can’t get anywhere near her.”
“Do you know that they’ve already met?” I asked and he nodded.
He was about to say something when our orders arrived. When the waiter left, he faced me again, “Ysmael told me about it and he did that on purpose. He hired a private investigator and he was informed that Lemon and her mom’s coming back. The investigator gave him the information regarding their hotel, date, and time of arrival. So on that day, he went there and even stayed overnight. He said Lemon even introduced him to her mother.”
Myco then put food on his plate and started eating. “Last night, I saw he reacted to the picture Lemon’s mom posted. But I wasn’t even surprised to know they’re friends since I know he added her. That’s how he found out that the person we’ve been waiting for has already returned. He was furious last night, he broke all the plant pots at home,” he continued narrating.
“What is he planning to do to them anyway?”
“He wanted me to stick with Bianca so we can retrieve the documents for our properties. That is if there’s anything left. When it comes to Lemon, it’s not clear to me. First, he said he’d do anything to bankrupt Victoria. According to him, that will make Edward show up. Then he said if that didn’t succeed, then maybe he’ll show up in exchange for Lemon’s life.”
“What?!” unable to control my voice, the customers looked at us so we both bowed down to lose their attention. “You mean… you mean he's planning to kill Leslie?” I whispered when I noticed that no one was looking at us anymore.
He nodded in response as he continue eating. “But I don’t think he can do that. He can use Lemon to force Edward to show up. But I don't think he can really kill her. Besides, Edward’s back. There’s no reason for him to hurt her anymore.”
“I think it’s best if we just tell Leslie everything,” I suggested but he quickly shook his head.
“If we do that, she’ll be wary with him and Ysmael might notice. He’ll be suspicious that someone’s feeding Lemon information about his plans, and that could only be me, you, or your dad and I don’t want to drag anyone else to this.”
“What should we do then?!” I asked and I admit that I’m starting to get more and more confused.
He heaved a sigh before pausing to think, “Let’s just do as your dad suggested. Let’s look after Lemon, for now, make sure to keep her close to you, especially when we’re out.”
After my conversation with Myco, I headed back to the studio. When I got there, I saw Kevz and Homme sleeping on the couch, while Roj squeezed himself on the single-seater.
I climbed the stairs quietly and peeked inside the room. There I saw Kip sleeping on the top bunk while Kellen’s at the bottom. Leslie was sound asleep on the double bed as well.
I sat on the edge of the bed while looking at her. ‘How can Ysmael hurt this angel?’ Out of worry and concern, I run my hand thru her hair. She moved a bit but she didn’t wake up.
“You’re taking advantage of her~” and I felt like ice-cold water was poured on me upon hearing that annoying voice.
‘Why does he have to be so loud?!’ I glared at him before looking back at Leslie and was surprised to see her eyes wide open. Even Kip and Kellen were awoken by Kevz’s noise.
I looked at him again and noticed Roj and Homme standing next to him. They’re both squirming with their faces red as a tomato, trying to stop themselves from laughing out loud.
I smiled at her awkwardly but I felt nervous when she suddenly stood up. “What did you do this time?” she asked while rubbing her eyes.
“Nothing! I was just sitting here,” I said in defense.
“Realy? You were just sitting? I saw you touched her hair!” Roj told me off and they all burst into laughter.
I can feel my face run out of color. I wanted to throw something and them but I hesitated as I don’t want the same incident like last time.
Clicking her tongue, Leslie took the blanket off and climbed down from the bed. “You were told to look after me, not to take advantage when I’m asleep!”
“You guys are evils!” I spat at the trio before going out and heading downstairs. I can still hear their crisp laughter and I wanted to go into a rage but I just can’t. Not when Leslie’s here!
