~38 ~

Ryder's POV
*
I had no idea where I was headed at  the moment but one thing was absolutely certain for me at this point. I need to get as far away from Jaden as I possibly could or I might be tempted to call him out in front of everyone else.
He didn't just hurt me with his words but he fucking broke me with his actions as well as his stupid lies.
I thought we really had something beautiful going on between us. Something I thought could only get stronger with each passing moment spent together because they was a fucking connection but I was so wrong.
Gosh, I  was so damn wrong about everything. It was obvious i was the only one with the tickling butterflies in my stomach. The only one who dreamt about a possible future that has both of us in it. The only freaking one who thought the feeling was so mutual and could last for ever but now I know it was nothing but a stupid experiment to him.
A fucking mistake.
Another tears threaten to fall and I let it slip away, just like everything else in my life right now. He fucking picked slutty Tia over me.
Gosh.
I took hold of my helmet and threw it on as I kicked my motorbike back to life and speed away not caring about anything else. An hour later, I arrived at the only place in town I knew I would be welcome with open arms.
It used to be my refuge before I found comfort in Jaden's presence and now it's gone, bringing me back right where I thought I had outgrown.
I killed the engine at the parking lot and pulled off my jacket and had it wrapped around my waist as I steadily stroll toward the entrance and pushed the front door open and  went inside. Everything was just as I last remember it even though it was at night time when it's usually a different scenario, with dancers and drunk underage kids pretending to be adults.
It's funny because that's how the world has come to be. People can pretend to love you in one minute and flip on you the very next.
I sighed in deeply as i made my way across the hall and settled down on the stool in front of the bar, my elbow propped against the counter with my chin resting on it.
A pair of strong hands grasped onto my shoulders after a couple of minutes, exhilarating my heart beat as I quickly turned around, only to stare back at Josh's beaming face as he smiles at me.
"Ryder? Oh my gosh, buddy! I fucking knew it was you" he announced happily as he quickly settle down beside me as well.
Josh and I have been friends for years. He is much of a gay as I was but we are not partners and would never be even though we get along so well and it's been quite a while since we last saw each other.
He is actually the last person I was expecting to see around here. Last time I checked, he got ship off to college in Australia or something in that line but now, I'm not so sure anymore.
"Bro, I haven't seen you in like forever, especially since you don't come around here anymore"
"Yeah, it's been a while but I'm back now"
At my word, he swung his arms around my shoulders and pulling me slightly into his side in a half hug. "It's really nice to see you again man"
"Yeah, me too but what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in like a different continent away from here?"
"It's a pretty long story but if am here right now then you can be sure I got back sooner than expected"
He whistle for the bar attendant and he showed up and we placed an order before he proceeded to mixing one and two together and poured some into two short glasses and slide them towards us.
I took hold of mine and down it in a single go, grimacing as it burn down my chest painfully. I pulled out my cigarette after a while and light it up and took a long drag and felt it swell around my lungs for a moment before puffing it out.
I tried taking another drag but couldn't. Jaden words were suddenly in my head hunting me still. Ever since that night at the party, I thought about quitting it completely but now, am not so sure any more.
It's not like my dead will make him blink in any way.
"So,what's up with you, got your eyes on anyone yet?" Josh ask expectedly.
I sighed in deeply as I think about his question, "Just this person, we were kind of together over the weekend but this morning, everything turned out to be a big fat mistake" my tone dampens terribly as I told him about everything  that happened earlier today.
"I'm sorry bro but seems you got played" his apologizes falling dead to my ears as I felt my heart getting shattered all over again.
I got played alright? I know that much already and don't need to be told but I still find it hard to believe. Is Jaden really capable of doing this to me or someone was making him do it.
And suddenly, I found myself turning over the event that happened in my head as my mind was totally riddled with the memory of seeing Jaden and Tia together and then suddenly, it hit me and i quickly grabbed my helmet and began to head out even though Josh's voice kept calling at me to wait up but I was already out the door.
**
I arrived back at Jaden's house but he wasn't home from school yet and neither was Jasmine so i had to wait patiently by the door.
I needed to hear him say it again just to be sure am not wrong to think what am actually thinking.
After waiting for two whole hours, I finally notice his car pulling into the driveway and luckily, he was also alone. No more clingy ass Tia to claim ownership over him.
My eyes continue to trail him as he got down from the vehicle and had his gym bag on one shoulder but stopped abruptly when his eyes settle in on me leaning against the door way.
I pushed my weight off the wall and began to walk towards him, my eyes not leaving his, not even to breathe. I saw something like shock flash in his eyes before it was replaced with a frown.
"What are you doing here?"
I came to a pause before him and gave a half shoulder shrug, "I came to see you Jaden. I thought you might want to see me too" I said between laughs but instead of replying, he walked right past me, heading straight to the front door as he retrieved the key and insert it through the key hole.
"Go home Ryder. I don't want Tia to meet you here"
He pushed the door open and went inside with me still following him from behind.
I hurried past him and stood in his way, my brow totally raised at him, "what are you really scared of huh?that your fake little girlfriend will find out it's me you actually love and not her? Is that it?"
"You don't know what you are talking about so I suggest you fucking go home right now and focus on your music band and leave me the hell alone"
He tried to walk past me again and I held him back and pushes him against the wall, my body pinning him against the wall. "Fucking prove it then. Prove that you don't freaking love me like I know you do and I will get out of your life for good, so fucking prove it"
An ounce of sadness flashes through his features as his eyes trail down to my lips for a brief moment before his hands suddenly pushed forward against my chest, knocking me backward and away from him as well.
I stumbled slightly against the tiles floor but was able to regain my balance just as quickly as I stare widely at him in shock.
"I already told you, I don't fucking love you so leave me the heck alone" he yelled at me again, anger clearly evident in his voice as he stared back at me.
I felt too stun to say another word. I was completely frozen right where I stood gaping at the person standing before me. He has golden locks and all the familiar features but I don't think it's Jaden.
It's can't be him. Because this person standing in front of me is nothing like the kind loving boy that had me drooling all over him just days ago.
This person right here is a fucking jerk and doesn't deserve me getting this much hurt over his stupid ass.
Before I could regain my composure, Jaden reached over and took me by the hand and began to pull me towards the door and I stumble in my steps and out the open door and he quickly slammed the door right behind me.
I stood there for another minute just thinking it was all but a sick joke and he will open the door at any minute and boo at me like he did back in my house but the longer I wait, the more it finally dawned on me, I was so wrong again. Jaden doesn't love me.
He really doesn't and that's fact.
I sank my face into my hands, exhaling a shaky breath I didn't realize I was holding in as tears threaten to fall yet again. I swipe my sleeve across my eyes, erasing every trace of any tears left as I began to walk down the street and out of his life as well.
