Mia gently pulled the blanket up to cover Brian's legs. She avoided looking directly into his eyes, seeming to shy away. Then, she softly spoke.
"I'll go inform your parents and also get some porridge for you. You must be hungry by now. Please wait for me."
Brian seemed to be pacified by her gentle words. He smiled faintly and gave a slight nod, murmuring an "Mm."
Without further delay, Mia adjusted Brian’s blankets and turned to leave the hospital room. 
First, she called Mrs. Leonard to let her know that Brian had awakened and was doing fine. Then, she quickly went to a nearby porridge shop to buy some meat porridge for him.
After receiving the news, Mrs. Leonard and her husband arrived shortly.
Mia was attentively feeding Brian spoonfuls of porridge, blowing on each spoonful to cool it before bringing it to his lips. Despite her focus, she was unaware that throughout this time, a pair of gentle eyes were watching her.
After finishing the porridge, Brian’s stomach was starting to feel full. His body wasn’t too exhausted, but his limbs occasionally ached with any movement, whether slight or vigorous.
With a "click," the door, which had been standing still, suddenly opened. Mrs. Leonard rushed in, followed by Mr. Leonard. He maintained his usual calm demeanor, though clearly pleased inside. Perhaps he was not the type to show emotions openly through his face or words.
Mrs. Leonard hurried to her son’s bedside, her eyes glistening with tears, causing Brian’s heart to ache.
Mrs. Leonard sniffled a few times, her voice thick with emotion.
“How are you feeling? Are you... are you feeling better? Is there any pain anywhere?”
Brian heard his mother’s concerned questions, his ears ringing slightly, and he smiled weakly.
“I’m fine, Mom. Don’t worry about me. With Mia taking care of me, I’ll recover soon.”
“Mm... Mm...” She nodded repeatedly. Seeing her son like this made it impossible for her not to worry. She took a deep breath and continued with a hint of grievance, “It’s all Mia taking care of you. Poor thing. Unlike Diana, who said she’d look after you but only sat here on her phone, tormenting Mia. Mia had to care for you and also for her... And now, after just a few days, she’s run off...”
Mr. Leonard, standing beside, frowned at Mrs. Leonard’s distress and spoke in a lowered voice. “Why are you telling him these things now that he’s just waking up? He’s old enough to see things for himself. He’s twenty-five, not a child.”
Brian, sitting on the hospital bed, only managed a faint smile and said nothing more. He was well aware of the situation. Although he had been unconscious and didn’t know who took care of him, the urgency and care Mia showed when he woke up made him realize who truly stood by him during his difficulty.
Brian sighed, feeling an unusual peace within, without a ripple of disturbance. Was he really so easily won over by Mia? Had she truly managed to touch his heart in just a few months?
Indeed, he thought with a perplexed smile, he had lost to her. If only he had met Mia earlier, perhaps his life would be perfect now. He certainly wouldn’t have been entangled in such messy situations.
Brian dreamed of a glamorous life beside her. He had completely forgotten the initial agreement with his mother and even with Mia. After a year, he was supposed to divorce her. For now, he needed to cherish the remaining time.
Mia remembered all these things, but he had forgotten.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard stayed to chat with their son a bit before leaving to let him rest. 
Mia had to run back and forth to fetch medicine for Brian and take the nutrition monitoring sheet to track his recovery progress.
Once his parents left, Brian didn’t see Mia around anymore. He felt a sudden pang of discomfort and loneliness. It was quite dull.
As for Diana, she was now indulging in shopping at the mall. Brian’s card was still with her, so she could spend freely and buy as much as she wanted. She didn’t know exactly what she bought, but the notifications of her spending kept chiming on her phone.
After a tiring shopping spree, Diana, carrying a multitude of luxurious items and with her noticeably rounded belly, returned home. She acted casually, ordering the house staff around without a hint of embarrassment.
The house staff had been overwhelmed by Diana’s presence these past few days.
Hana, feeling frustrated, occasionally found a corner to cry her heart out. Nonetheless, she continued to take meticulous care of the little Min, ensuring not a single strand of hair fell.
Today, when Diana returned home, she overheard the staff talking about Brian’s awakening. The news startled her. Had she missed the critical time?
She panicked, fearing Mia might take advantage of the situation. She had been too careless.
Without saying a word, Diana immediately left for the hospital. She stopped by a fruit shop, buying various fruits, milk, and bird’s nest supplements, all packed into a large bundle.
Rushing to the hospital, Diana hoped desperately that Mia wouldn’t be there. As she wished, upon entering the room, she saw only Brian sitting calmly on the white bed.
Diana’s steps quickened, her eyes brimming with tears, showing a distressed expression.
“Brian, you’re finally awake. Do you know? I was so worried about you... You’re finally awake.”
Brian’s face showed a fleeting look of surprise before turning expressionless. Diana placed her purchased items on the table and sat down on the bed, tears streaming down her beautiful, sharp features.
Before Brian could say anything, she continued.
“Brian, when you had the accident, I... I stayed here watching over you for days... But Mia... Mia sent me away, wouldn’t let me take care of you anymore... I had no choice but to go home...”
Diana spoke these words with little shame. Despite her tears, she continued to speak, deliberately portraying Mia in a negative light.
Brian could only smirk disdainfully. He recognized that her words were all lies. He nodded along, pretending to believe her, but in reality, he cared little about it.
