Chapter 92: Truth is always cruel
Zane glared at Roly, who replied with a grin.
Roly's words made him unable to hold back his emotions anymore. His face darkened as he charged at Roly. He dared to hide everything from him and even showed a mocking attitude, considering him worthy of life. That annoyed him.
Pop!
Boom!
The noise caused Clara's smile to fade, and Clara hurriedly opened the rooftop door and found herself face to face with two boys, Zane and Roly.
A stunned Roly.
And An angry Zane.
His eyes widened as his punch hit Roly's face.
Zane angrily turned his head to look at the person who just appeared, his annoyed eyes suddenly turned to surprise. As surprised to see her as she was surprised to see him, Clara was doing her best to keep her face expressionless, but her mouth was slightly pursed. That's the right time! Who would have thought that he and she would face each other in such a strange situation? What the hell is Zane doing here? Clara wondered, apparently she wasn't happier than Zane to be seen together like this.
Zane, how to answer that question? How could he explain what had just happened before she appeared? Of course, if Clara asked, otherwise he wouldn't have to justify himself, only to make matters worse.
Zane licked his dry lips but stopped instinctively when he saw Clara's eyes narrowed ominously.
'I have another date in ten minutes,' Roly had told Zane with no interest in the conversation he'd had a few minutes ago.
Zane would have almost forgotten about it if Clara hadn't suddenly flung open the door and appeared right in front of him.
Roly sat on the floor. One hand wipes the blood in the mouth, the other hand on the floor to gain momentum to stand up. There was a slight pain in the corner of his lips, but he did not groan at all. Roly's shock at Zane's outbursts was not over, but now she's even more confused when Clara encounters a situation that shouldn't have happened.
Damn it! You should not agree to this conversation. You should firmly refuse him. What will Clara do? What will she do? Roly was both worried and anxious to know what her actions were?
After a minute of staring at him in amazement, Clara glanced at Roly, who had just fallen to the brick floor after a single punch to the left cheek. The corner of her mouth leaked out a red liquid that made her even more terrified.
Can he hit Roly? unbelievable!
Without further hesitation, she approached him, with the utmost care. Gently touch the sore spot with your hand. With his other hand, he took a handkerchief from his pocket and gently wiped the blood stains.
Was that action any different from indirectly killing his heart? Zane still couldn't take his eyes off Clara, unable to speak, his chest tightening and his heart skipping a beat.
Then Clara kindly asked him.
"Are you okay? Is the wound okay?"
It turned out that she was more worried about the wound in his abdomen, even though he was discharged from the hospital, but if he was not careful, it could lead to the wound becoming infected, and more dangerous, there would be complications.
Roly sat on the cold floor, patting her hand, her voice reassuring Clara. A smile reassured her.
"Don't worry! I'm fine, just a little surprised."
He stood up with her help.
Seeing that scene Zane felt like he was redundant, being in a place where he shouldn't be, invisible in the faces of the other two. Clara reluctantly believed him, when Roly made it clear that he was fine, then Roly glanced in his direction. Clara then looked at Zane as well. The sudden look made his heart jump and then beat faster as if he were a criminal standing before the judgment of the Supreme.
Silence came suddenly. The three just remained silent in an uncomfortable confusion. Until One Eye darted from side to side from Zane to Clara, to see what the obvious reaction would be from both of them. But nothing has changed but the insensitivity on both sides trying to show each other, but deep inside the undercurrent is raging. Why are those two forever looking at each other in silence? Roly wondered, clearly he saw that the two of them had something to say to each other but couldn't let the words out of their mouths, was it because of their pride, or because they were afraid of his presence, so they couldn't tell him directly? words to say.
In this situation, it seemed that Zane knew everything. Clara decided. But how? Now, what should she do to deal with this? Honestly, she never thought that Zane would know everything before she left here.
Horrible. This is like Clara's worst nightmare. But how did she know... how did she guess he would find out so quickly? Roly probably won't say anything to Zane? Involuntarily she glanced at him quickly, blue eyes swirling deep black eyes, in Clara's heart suddenly a little doubt rose, suddenly Roly's gentle smile erased the doubt that should have been. Peaceful! He always gives her peace of mind, and she believes in him! She would be punished if she suspected his death.
Real mess! A discreet sigh, Clara didn't know, nor did she know that she was going to meet Zane today.
This is strange...but also very confusing.
Zane deciphered all the puzzles himself. This was beyond Clara's expectations.
In the end, Roly decided to be the first to speak up and withdrew, thinking he should give both of them some alone time.
"Clara!"
Bewildered eyes looked at him, waiting.
"I'll go downstairs first! See you later!" He ended the sentence with a smile encouraging Clara to do what needed to be done, clearing any misunderstandings with Zane. She needed to face him in the end, it was inevitable, if the two couldn't give each other a chance to speak clearly, then god, no, let him do it for her.
"Rolly, me." Clara was a little confused, glancing briefly at Zane with apprehensive eyes before turning back to Roly, not wanting the good idea he'd come up with at all. Roly answered her with a nod and a confident smile, then turned to look at him and said a word before he passed her and headed for the door.
"You know what to do right? Stay awake for me."
Roly just finished her sentence, looked at Zane with a faint smile, and then left, leaving Clara standing there alone, Clara's eyes turned to follow Roly's back. How to say! What did Roly mean by giving this opportunity to him and her, did he really want to do it for them.
Clara watched Roly's broad back. Why did you do that? She still couldn't find the answer, While her eyes were still bewilderedly fixed on that broad back. Zane suddenly took a few steps towards her, the sudden action startled her, he stood opposite her and looked her straight in the eye when Clara turned to look at him.
Clara froze at that look.
Zane stared at the girl in front of him, eyes narrowing trying to remember some of her special features when he couldn't see her. Feeling that Zane was looking at her too closely, Clara shyly took a step back, looking down at the floor.
Compared to when he first met her at Sarah's house, today a completely different impression of her was aroused in him, today Clara had braided her long French hair, confidently exposing the bright red birthmark on her side. her left cheek. Clara wears a pink one-piece dress, looks very sweet, the dress has a graceful waist accent, and the long sleeves, and turtleneck design is warm, with this dress Clara looks charming and warm in the frozen cold season.
Is this really Cinderella? Taking a closer look at her, his heart sank. Oh my God! can't things turn out like this? Is the girl as beautiful as a flower, as kind as an angel in his imagination, so different from each other? Why is a reality so cruel?
The unbelievable cover is true! impossible! Zane's innermost expression is fierce, after all, every human being is passionate about beauty and desires perfection. Unfortunately, one can only dream about those two things, but the reality is completely surprising.
Suddenly Zane shook his head firmly, not wanting to believe it, and then suddenly left, leaving Clara standing there, looking very sad. She thought he was going to say something to her, at least an apology. But there was nothing but an appreciation for her appearance and then he left, forgetting to tell her about his comment.
A feeling of Loss combined with disappointment created a suffocating feeling that clung to Clara's neck. She was resentful but could not cry, could only sigh heavily to breathe.
Another gloomy afternoon. When will these gloomy days end?
A while later.
Clara was walking down the stairs to go down to the first floor because she was walking fast and her mind was thinking miscellaneous, so her foot was missing on the last step. Whatever happened, Clara lost her balance and wobbled forward.
At this moment, when passing through the stairs on the first floor, Roly was startled to see Clara falling to the ground. Her arms were outstretched but he knew they wouldn't offer much protection against the slippery, glossy tile of the floor. He rushed towards her, even though he knew there was no way to reach her in time.
But Zane was right behind her and he grabbed Clara just in time. Roly quickly stopped. His relief quickly turned to jealousy as he hugged Clara tightly in his arms, refusing to let go. Refused to let go. And still don't let go. Roly counted to ten before he stepped back. But even then, his hands lingered on her shoulders, then on hers.
Desperate to hear what they were talking about, Roly watched Clara as she listened intently to Zane. Her body was still straight, stiff, but she gave Zane a beautiful smile of appreciation, and when that smile blossomed, Roly's stomach twisted. It was true that she didn't know much about body language, but no man could resist such a sweet smile.
But then her shoulders stiffened, and she gripped the straps of her backpack. Zane's hand left hers, and she backed away slightly. She didn't cross her arms, but it felt the same way. Even from a distance, he could see her nervousness, her insecurity, her embarrassment.
It didn't take long for the brief encounter to end. Zane handed her something, said a few words, and walked away.
Clara turned to look at Roly, who quickly appeared busy by pretending to pick up something that had just fallen to the floor.
As he walked, Zane turned his head to look at her, and she forced herself to look him in the eye. Eye contact, she thought, hoping she wouldn't look as scared as she felt. His eyes were surprisingly gentle. But not as good as Roly. What is this? she was comparing him to him... She finally turned away, ignoring his gaze. Clara managed to keep her composure as she walked down the hallway and walked toward him, determined to hold on to her feelings until she stood in front of Roly.
Zane mingled with the busy flow of people moving in the hallway, while Clara had already walked up to him.
A bitter truth. He felt his heart break.
Nothing good has happened to him today. The only positive thing about this afternoon, as Zane could sense, was that Sarah had no idea about his coming to see him, and most of all, he already knew everything.
After a moment of anger he shouldn't have, Roly didn't care about what had just happened, he was jealous with no reason to act like that. That just proves that he is a petty person, not to mention that there is still nothing between him and her for him to be jealous of.
But Roly couldn't understand, how could Clara behave like that?
Cold, emotionless towards Zane.
Even knowing that Zane already knew everything, Clara seemed to have no tolerance for him, not even softening her determination to make him a stranger all these days.
Wonder how Zane will handle this? Will he let things go on or let it all go back to the way it was when it first started?
