Chapter 63 A ( 26.2 )

Episode 26.2: Continuation...
A N H O U R L A T E R.
Casya and Derek have already left after sharing some information and discussing the cases they have been investigating for years now. Only she and Tony were left in the hideout, and it's not new. It is so close to the point that Tony and she can't live without each other.
Ameira was the one who was maintaining their medicine so they wouldn't lose their minds, and she was also the one who made Tony's candies. If he doesn't take it even for a day, he will lose himself. The same goes for Casya and Derek, yet for her, she never takes medication at all. She's just solving it by herself and has to cope with her situation.
Her and her friends, yes. Secretly, deep in her heart, they are important to her cause; after all, they have known each other for years now. They help her solve crimes so she can find a lead to Mr. Alejandro's murderer. Outside, her friends have their own lives, in which Ameira never intervenes, but while they are here, she's in command.
She was busy watching the CCTV footage from jails that focuses on the three suspects. They are talking to themselves while laughing. They are acting weirdly. Her eyes were fixed on the monitor when Tony spoke up. "A, when will we ever live a normal life? Just like other people? Do we really still have a chance to start a new life after all this?"
She was stuck for a while and smiled a bit. "It will come. In God's perfect timing." She mentioned Almighty God, hoping that, not now but in the future, something magical will happen, not for her but for her friends.
"You know I don't believe in God, Ameira. He never answered my prayers, which is why I'm here in this situation, wondering what will happen to me if I stop my medication. I prayed for him to heal me, wash away all my sins, and change me, but..."
"As long as you don't give up on your life, Tony, it all matters. You will know him eventually. Don't rush yourself. God is only waiting for you to open up to him. Not everything we pray for is always granted; sometimes God has a bigger plan for you."
"Aren't you too hypocritical, Ameira? You believe in him and still do sins. Do you think fingering yourself is not a sin?"
She was struck by thunder about what he uttered and looked at him with her eyes open and her mouth open. "What did you say?"
"You have been harassed since you were young, even in your teenage days, and slowly, without your knowing it, you have enjoyed the word sex. Yet—" she didn't let him finish his last sentence when she choked him extremely. "Don't even dare mention my past, Tony. Don't. I might forget that I once saved your life and treated you as one of my closest friends. If you don't believe in him, then don't. But if you're bringing up my past to find some fault in me, then there's no reason to discuss it with you." Her eyes turned dark as if at any moment she would kill him right here, right now.
"I-I'm sorry...A-Ameira..." He was losing his breath because of her tight grip. "I-I can't b-breathe. L-let go," he struggled.
"Don't use our friends to take advantage of me. You know how I killed people previously because they triggered me. You don't want to be my next victim." She warned him dangerously and let him go before leaving the hideout. She rode in a freight elevator going up, still throwing daggers in his direction. He was holding his neck and catching his breath, and she didn't feel sorry at all.
This is one of the reasons why their illness is dangerous because you never know what they are capable of doing once provoked. Tony has crossed the line.
C I T Y J A I L, M A N I L A.
15:00 AM.
Ameira was walking freely in the corridor, and even when policemen or detectives passed by her, they didn't stop or ask for identification. But after reaching the gate, where the passage was through the inmates.
"May I know who you are? The visiting hours are over; I suggest you come back tomorrow." The guard policeman blocked her right away before she could step foot at the gate.

She snatched an ID card out of her black leather jacket to show it. "I'm under Chief Director Rolanzo Sebastian, and he allowed me to visit the new inmates for investigation. I just need to clarify something. If you allow me, sir." She doesn't want any trouble with her investigation, so it's better to take it in a nice way.

He extended his hand, getting the ID pass on her, and took a look at it, looking at her and then back to the ID pass. "How would I know if this is fake or real? I'm sorry, I can't let you pass. Recently, inmates escaped from their cells because of an unknown guest who visited them, saying they were under from higher ranks, but it turned out to be a lie. It would be okay if you called the chief director as proof," he suggested.

"Alright," she nodded and grabbed her phone from the back of her pants pocket and dialed the chief director's number, and it didn't take seconds to answer her call.

[You call?]

"Someone wants to talk to you—here talk to him." She handed her phone to the policeman and he immediately got the phone and they both talked on the phone. Later on, he was nodding his head saying sorry and being grateful before he gave it back to her. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you are a detective because you look too young to be a police officer. I'm sorry again, detective."

"It's fine. I know you are just doing your job. If you may." She pointed the way to allow her to pass through, and the policeman gave her away and bowed to her several times while apologizing.

The only thing she did was nod along the way. Someone offered to show her the way where the new inmates could be found, but she refused. She's here for an important matter. She wants to check something from them—reactions and words will be enough.

Their cells are just next to each other. They are in solitary confinement because the inmates are acting weirdly and are afraid they might hurt the people around them; that's why.

She starts with the only girl, Maria Labintino. "Maria Labintino," she calls her full name; however, no response is heard from the woman, instead murmurs can be heard inside. It seems like she was talking to herself.
